White Sox @ Rockies, 7:40pm, WCIU

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 07:57 PM) That had nothing to do with being lazy, it hit him in the heel of the glove. He has 2 errors the entire season, once in a while a ball is going to bounce out of a mitt. +1 -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 07:57 PM) Rios, really? This ball has to be put away with ease. Misjudged it from the beginning, bad route, bad timing, lost sight of it and couldn't correct. What are the odds they DON'T tie the game or take the lead? Plus, Rios can't even be bothered to hustle down the line. Ozzie really needs to bench him for a week just to show him that the game needs to be respected. Ozzie is always so quick to put Beckham or Morel or Viciedo (last year) on the bench, but he won't ever do that to veterans, because he doesn't want to "disrespect" them. I don't know - you tell me. -

QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) hahahahahahahaa "they're gonna wave him in on Juan Pierre's arm...." said with such disdain...I LOVE IT Well, you couple this obvious "disdain" with the "it should be a can of corn" comments, followed by the constant Viciedo updates, and it's pretty obvious what the 'ol Hawkeroo is lobbying for. -
F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 12:00 AM) Yep, lost in the drama of this game is the continued struggles of Pierre. I truly feel like his pink slip day is coming soon, and I would point to maybe after next weekend after the Cubs series?? As for the game, someone elsewhere said to not let losses bother you until this team is .500. Pretty good philosophy I think the combination of Juan not making some sort of amazing turn around before the end of that Cubs' weekend (somewhat unlikely, at this point), coupled with the Viciedo bypassing his year of eligibility for free agency by being brought up so late in the season, makes your prediction of Pierre's demise that much more realistic. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:52 PM) I think that was mostly on Teahen. Teahen is just not a good option out there on the field. He really isn't, no matter where you put him. And that's not a good label for a guy whose supposed value is his "versatility" in the field. The error here in this inning is clearly on Alexei, but we all know that a good first baseman probably picks that one. Ugh. -

As we approach the half-way point of this season, and with the White Sox obviously still very much within striking distance of taking over the AL Central Division, I'm wondering how much longer it will be before the media really starts taking Guillen & Co. into task for the decision to continue on with Pierre not only at the helm of the line-up, but in the line-up at all. That sort of pressure must be forthcoming sooner rather than later. And when it does, it'll be interesting to see how both OG and KW manage that situation. -

QUOTE (Real @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:38 PM) caught a break there, can't ask Beckham to pitch in the 17th inning... let's win this s*** Awww, c'mon! Where's yer sense of adventure! -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:36 PM) Oakland isn't exactly a place with a clean reputation either... Lol - yeah, well, he didn't stay there long, either. He was traded to the Tigers in July of 2002.

QUOTE (Real @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) its pretty obvious Pena was juicing in texas, that organization seems to be a safe haven for drug use, and not just PEDs... Pena was simply a September call-up for the Rangers in 2001, and that was it for his time in Texas. He was traded to the A's the following January.

How many sensational catches is that for him now so far this year? Like, seven, eight? Well whatever the number is, they've been a real pleasure to watch, not to mention they seem to come at very crucial moments. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) That might've been the most unhittable pitch I've ever seen in my life. Knee high on the outside edge of the outside corner at a cool 100 MPH? Yeah, I'd say so!

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 08:22 AM) That's what I would have guessed, but I didn't remember. Thanks. For s***s and giggles, here's my partial list of possible (probable?) users that played with Hurt, I know I'm forgetting about a million guys, feel free to help: Maggs Caballo Valentin Bo (didn't he admit it?, I can't recall for sure) Albert Belle (rage explained) Rowand Pitchers: Lil' Bulldog, Parque (+others who could never touch the majors without some help) Fatty Wells (just strikes me as a guy who wouldn't hesitate to gain an advantage) When I think of "Lil' Bulldog", I can only think of Greg Hibbard! -
QUOTE (iamshack @ May 31, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) Our FO and field managers may be a bit slow at times, but no way Humber performs on this stage against both the Yankees and Red Sox now and dominates them both and goes to the pen. If there was ever anything that was recognized by our FO, it's big game, big stage, big time performances. This start has cemented Humber in the rotation until he pitches his way out of it. Right on the money as usual, Shack!

The Sox just paid Rios and Dunn a LOT of money NOT to either drive in a runner in scoring position or at least move him over a base.

What a weird, weird season. But I'll take this one!

QUOTE (Real @ May 26, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) Man, Humber is a BEAST Do you guys think he'll be in our rotation next year? Guessing it'll be Danks, Humber, Sale, Floyd, Jackson assuming we bring back Edwin (I would normally say he's gone, but we don't have anyone in the wings nearly as good as what he's 'capable' of being) It'll be interesting to see what he gets in arbitration Not going to happen. Bora$ is his agent, which means he automatically goes out into the free agent market this winter. And Jerry Reinsdorf-owned teams do not negotiate with high-priced Bora$ free agents.

QUOTE (soxsider11 @ May 26, 2011 -> 07:49 PM) bunt with alexei in the first but not with oar in 7th in a tie game? Hmmmm I was just thinking the same thing. Bunt in the 1st with a runner like Pierre at first and a lousy bunter in Alexei, but don't bunt now with an excellent bunter like Omar and with a slow runner like A.J. on at first. Hmmmmm, indeed!

QUOTE (soxsider11 @ May 26, 2011 -> 06:49 PM) one was molitor no clue the other Joe Carter, maybe?

The reception Rios routinely receives at the Rogers Centre these days is going to be the same one he receives at the Cell soon if he doesn't start producing.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 22, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) I'm not trying to start s***, I am asking a genuine question... Why the hell do you come into a thread like this to tell fans that are excited that they shouldn't be? Then tell me to come find YOU when they satisfy some criteria that you deem to be impressive enough. Honestly, what is the thought process here? I have certainly noticed a "wet blanket" approach to posting from that particular individual.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 22, 2011 -> 06:54 PM) 5-0-1 in their past 5 series. That is getting it done. A really tough test coming up with this upcoming road trip. I think much of the 2011 story might just be told based on the results of this trip.

I am pretty sure Stone Poney wins the "Pick to Click" game today with his selection of Alexei Ramirez!
