  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 03:48 PM) Oh and Simon Castro was promoted to AAA. I think its only a matter of time before he is here. I'm really looking forward to him. He's having a pretty decent year.
  2. My top 5: 1.Frank Thomas 2.Paul Konerko 3.Mark Buehrle 4.Luke Appling 5.Ted Lyons Buehrle's ranked so high only because I grew up with him in a Sox uniform and he's my favorite pitcher. I guess "my generation's" Billy Pierce.
  3. QUOTE (GO CHI SOX! @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) https://twitter.com/#!/pgammo Nice to know we at least made a run for him.
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) Banged up Carlos Quentin didn't have much value at the time everybody, get over it. Simon Castro is quickly becoming one of our top prospects again (something he also was as a Padre) and Hernandez was pitching unbelievably until he got hurt I wouldn't say Hernandez was pitching unbelievable. That K rate is not something to be desired.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) Wait... are they really converting Brandon Kloess into a starter? Since that one game they pitched Kloess-Rem-Kussmaul-Bellamy, I just figured it was a bullpen day. Are we saying that Kloess is actually a starter now? I doubt it. Likely because Hernandez was on the D.L. But maybe someone else knows more.
  6. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) Can Johnson play third? He's played 3B at Charlotte this year. No clue if he's any good though.
  7. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) That's what I was thinking I heard after reading the list of tunes. It's much better than your love. Communicates a better message to associate Beckham with... With seek and destroy I think of a player who is driven to succeed. With your lov I think of a player who is self obsessed and... Well, a playa. I will say that he did play that Megadeth song on June 2nd when I was at the game. The only other song I know played was "Your Love."
  8. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 12:31 AM) Ahem. Holy Wars...The Punishment Due by Megadeth. Nice. I can never find this list every year. They can add "Bawitdaba" by Kid Rock for Addison Reed. At least that's the song he entered to on June 2nd.
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 04:00 PM) I completely forgot about Olsen, so he should be in the rotation assuming he is still around. I didn't realize Davis was cut, for some reason I though they brought him back. So I guess there's one spot available for Veal or Heath. I went with Heath simply because the Sox tried him as a starter last year for a little bit and they put him on the 40 man roster over a guy like Doyle. Who really knows though, there could be another minor league free agent in the mix that I'm not aware of. I think the only reason Heath was in the rotation was so he could work on pitches. He opened last year in Charlotte's bullpen if I remember correctly.
  10. I thought Doug Davis was never resigned after last year. At least, I don't remember ever reading about it.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 1, 2012 -> 01:12 AM) Based off nothing other than MLB 10: The Show and the minor league roster from Operation Sports, I thought Nate Jones was black. Don't worry, that was fixed by me this year. I was in charge of the Sox for this year.
  12. At he's able to hit a golf ball, which is much smaller than a baseball.
  13. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) To say that Sizemore is made of glass is an insult to guys that are actually made of glass, like Peavy and Quentin. Grady is more like the breakaway glass they use in movies. Yeah, at least Peavy goes out with a bang. He detached a damn muscle from the bone! Sizemore's got those little injuries that never seem to go away.
  14. He looks like he's trying not to puke because of how ridiculous he looks in that ugly uniform.
  15. Coop had some thing to do with Herm. He fixed him. Coop can do anything. I speak truth. In all seriousness, Can't wait for ST to start. I realize this team doesn't have much upside, but I always enjoy seeing the young guys show what they got. I'm really interested to see just how good Molina is and if Castro can get back on track.
  16. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 20, 2012 -> 02:04 PM) Really, there is a job for Manny in MLB!? Wow. I am really beginning to dislike this season. Just a minor league deal. So there is still hope he never sees the MLB again.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 11:02 PM) Facts ... • Sox have added Fukodome (sp). • Rios is one of the highest paid players in Sox history and has started in the big leagues for several years now. He's known as a regular. • A new season is starting making last year's stats mean nothing regarding Rios. • Any manager will give a highly regarded, well paid veteran like Rios several weeks/months to prove himself, at least until the weather has been warm for a month or so • Fuko will play. • DeAza is still young and unknown. • Viciedo is the new blood that needs to play every day. Conclusion • Fuko will play ... at the expense of DeAza, not Rios. How can u argue with this? Why would any manager not let Rios play at least until July 1 when he's had a chance to play in warm weather? In my eyes the guy who gets screwed is my new favorite, DeAza. Fukudome is making $500 K. How is that starter's money? He's being brought in as a 4th OF so Lillibridge can play more infield and be utilized better. That's what the signing says to me. Plus what if for some reason De Aza is terrible and can't be an everyday player? At least Fukudome has experience (and some success) in the leadoff spot, and can step in if need be. Who else does this team have to leadoff if De Aza is not the answer? No one.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 08:51 AM) Another of the signs of spring... http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/...-more-comeback/ What could possible compel him to just not retire. Most players don't attempt one comeback, let alone two... And what team would want to sign him after all his injury history when you could arguable get a pitcher half his age to produce the same results Prior would probably give a team?
  19. Other than having a cool last name, this move is not of any importance, but the Sox resigned RHP Matt Zaleski. Even as a Charlotte/Birmingham filler, this make little sense to me. I already figure both of those clubs have full rotations.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 2, 2012 -> 08:09 PM) The good news is that this puts Ozzie & Mark even further away from the playoffs. I honestly wouldn't mind if Mark won again. But Ozzie can suck it for all I care.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2012 -> 08:27 PM) No. I thought he was added to the 40 after he was signed. Isn't that a major league deal? Maybe I'm mistaken.
  22. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 10:50 PM) Anyone pick up any game used merch? I have always been curious what that stuff went for at SoxFest. It's usually a little over-priced IMO. Or at least it was a few years ago. I haven't gone the past 3 years. But sometimes you can find some stuff hidden away. I managed to get a game used Juan Uribe bat for only $50. No cracks either, just a huge dent where a baseball hit the bat. Got it signed by him a year later.
  23. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) Agreed, we have been speculating on this for a long time now........ It would be nice to know soon too. That would be nice if something could be worked out over the weekend, announce it at Soxfest.
