  1. OK...I hate that AB from Kotsay. If we're not gonna score it's paramount that we have good at-bats and make Meche throw. The Royal bullpen is so awful...if nothing else we need to get to that in the middle innings.
  2. Peavy: 21 pitches through two. This is the complete opposite of every start so far this year. He's lucky to get out of most single innings with 21 pitches.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2010 -> 07:23 PM) Well, we are good at proving we can make pitchers with a 10 ERA look good. That's something to be proud of...trying to be optimistic here, can't think of much. At least Beckham didn't K? His two swings were awful looking.
  4. Kotsay needs to stand his ground on that. He has every right to that on deck circle.
  5. Great Job Jake. 2 K's...only 11 pitches. I like.
  6. Those are sparkling numbers for Kotsay there...glad he's in there.
  7. I guess his legs are too damn sore to even DH
  8. God...how do these starters have an AL worst 5.30 ERA? League worst? Jesus...so depressing.
  9. If that NY series didn't make Ozzie drop Becks down in the order...My God what does it take?
  10. The Royals want to dump him...I think they have about given up on him. Their new plan is to keep him in the minors this year and eventually move him to 1st base and Butler to DH when Jose Guillens contract expires...which...is retarded.
  11. We have an advantage in that if we can just stay afloat for another month or two Kenny won't be able to help himself...He'll bring in a big bat or another Pitcher if thats what we need.
  12. Royals sent Alex Gordon down today...boy, I hope Gordo doesn't turn into a flop like that guy has. He was supposed to be the George Brett according to some scouts.
  13. It ALL hinges on this homestand. I believe that JUST ONE sparkling pitching performance will be contageous (that means you Jake). If Jake goes out there and pitches 8 or 9 innings giving up little/nothing and strikes out some guys tonight, I really think it sparks this team. I think winning tonight is important, but HOW we win is important as well. If we're down like 6-3 and come back on their terrible bullpen, I still don't think it does much for us. We need to start winning with pitching. The games we have been winning this year have been most 7-6 type games like we saw the other day. We're not gonna win like that very often (and we haven't). We need to start winning 4-2, 3-1 type games. The starting pitching HAS to step up.
  14. I believe that Peavy dominates tonight as well... I think this series is a good challege for our hitters to be patient and make these Royal starters work. KC has a good rotation, but a bullpen full of gas-cans. If we can make their pitchers exit 5th-6th inning territory, we should be in really good shape to score some runs.
  15. I'm glad he understands what Ozzie was saying there...now if only he understood how to hit the baseball...
  16. I think we all need to hold out judgement until ATLEAST the end of this week. Seven winnable games this week. Five wins would be just what the doctor ordered. You can't tell me that whoever wins the World Series this year won't have a 10-15 type stretch. I would rather talk all this nonsense about blowing this thing up and rebuilding in late June, when we will difinitavly know how good or bad we really are. The offense may not improve that much...but I think theres one thing that we should all agree on...the pitching will be better.
  17. QUOTE (hogan873 @ May 2, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) Well, the idea of acquiring Fielder or Gonzalez is fading for sure. If anything, we'll be trading away "talent". We need to see how this 7 game homestand goes before calling this season lost. We act as if we're 5-20...We're not completely buried...yet.
  18. Is it too much for Girardi to tell his team to go up hacking? He's freakin' taken two strikes here.
  19. My nightmare...and Max Scherzer for the Tigers, and Aaron Crow for the Royals. I'm going to hate my favorites here in a couple of years.
  20. QUOTE (hogan873 @ May 2, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) My son turned off the game and turned on bowling. I didn't complain. I've moved on to Mizzou baseball...
