  1. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 11:51 AM) Depends on what would it would take. Is Milwaukee looking to move him? Just speculation on MLBN. Said the Brewers would listen.
  2. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) Can't give a player a qualifying offer if he was traded midseason. Got it thank you
  3. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 11:45 AM) If #Padres don't get what they want for Upton, they'll keep him and get draft pick;the #Tigers more urgent on Cespedes since no compensation https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/627156078082404352 So technically if we trade for JUp and keep shark and make them qualifying offers in the winter and they walk we get two compensation picks!?
  4. Shockingly, Padres one of just five teams that haven't made a trade with deadline in 3 1/2 hours. Others: Cubs, White Sox, Twins, D'backs. Passan Seems to me these teAms may be waiting on the Padres to see wtf they are going to do. It's like they have the deadline held hostage.
  5. Morisi says Marlon Bryd would also be a good addition. I don't know about that... Def less flashy
  6. Rosenthals was just on MLbN and said he'd be surprised if the sox didn't add a bat (vasqurgin? Sp) mentioned Cespedes or Byrd. Rosenthal said the hold up is the logjam at 1B/OF/DH but said weve checked in at 3B and Catcher just not a lot of options since everyone wants those players and aren't traded much.
  7. Would anyone have interest in Braun. They were talking about him on MLBN
  8. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:57 AM) price tag is high on cespedes. belief is, with orioles, they'd seek gausman. last guy o's want to trade. https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/627145252000940032 It's probably going to be even higher for sox. If that's what teams are asking for a two month rental lets stand pat or sell. No thank you
  9. There is some speculation within the industry about a possible BOS/Cubs/Padres three-way blockbuster taking shape. Lots of pieces that fit Onley
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:33 AM) my prediction, SD ends up with the worst hauls because people know what stupid shape they are in. Or they end up with a majority of the pieces they have been rumored to be moving because they are asking too much. Should be a pretty interesting deadline. To see what we do of course, but also what LA, the Cubs, and SD do.
  11. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:31 AM) Adage to remember today (from one GM): Buyers make more mistakes than sellers because buyers are more emotional. Sellers are more Sounds like a Rick statement. I guess I would be okay if they did their due deligance and stood pat becUse of the prices

  13. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:17 AM) Some of the dislike for Avi is on the same level or damn near what most had for Rios... Ya I don't get it personally. He's in his first full season in the bigs and has been decent. The guy has the tools and will go on a run before the season is over. I Def don't want to give up on him this year or next. But I can see people saying he shouldn't be an OF
  14. To be a fly on the wall in the war room right now would be cool.
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:04 AM) I'm guessing Jorge Mateo? That's him
  16. How good is this Zac Davies the guy who the O's gave up who's a comp in our org., I didn't realize how well Parra was doing this year, he's 4th in the NL in BA
  17. The #Orioles shortage of trade chips made it difficult for them to jump in on a big bat rental like Upton or Cespedes.
  18. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 09:42 AM) But I'd be shocked if the Padres were only seeking a young SS in trades for some of their players on the block. I think it's more likely they're asking all teams for young SSs. I think your right they also are trying to get the Yankees SS prospect in a deal for Kimbrel.
  19. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 09:34 AM) So basically I assume the Padres are insisting on Anderson and we're countering with Cleuluis Rondon. And so we won't be getting Upton. Don't think Correla is related to Upton. Words is Astros looking at Ross and or Kimbrel.
  20. Kenny RO Source: #Orioles closing in on #Brewers’ Parra. Deal expected to be Parra for RHP Zack Davies, straight up.
  21. This seems promising: Lots of corner outfielders still to be moved, but not a lot of buyers (NYM, CWS, BAL, maybe 1 or 2 others). Like a game of musical chairs. Onley Always positive for consumers when the supply outweighs the demand. Especially in cases where teams are trying to rid themselves of payroll and pending free agents. Desperation starts to set in as we grow hours closer to the deadline.
  22. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 09:07 AM) I'd be fine with Erik Johnson, Avasail Garcia, Matt Davidson, and Hector Noesi for Upton. None of those guys is going to do much in the majors on the Sox. I just don't think that it's going to get done without Anderson or Montas involved, which I'm against. I agree I don't want to give up Montas or Anderson. Or Avi but im good witth Davidson and or EJ
  23. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 08:53 AM) Shows how much you've followed him over the last year. He was a top 100 prospect a year ago after a very good 2013, but got knocked around a bit last year due to a loss in velocity for unknown reasons. His velocity has returned this year and he's dominated with good strikeout numbers and he's given up 1 earned run in his last 47 innings. Clearly that's worth trading for two months of an overrated Upton. Sorry forgot to tune in to his triple a starts to watch him tear up minor leaguers.
  24. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 08:50 AM) One Earned Run over the last 47 innings. I understand he's doing well in Cha right now and that's exciting but in just saying he's not going to hurt us that much by losing him.
  25. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 08:45 AM) EJ has the potential to be a pretty good #3 pitcher. We traded Richard for several seasons of Jake Peavy. The scenarios are not even close to being the same, and EJ is better than Richard. Upton is a 2-month rental and he's hit like complete s*** the last two months (under .600 OPS). EJ would be a massive overpay. And I was comparing the two pitchers not the players they were traded for, you did. All I said is trading EJ is like trading Richard which didn't hurt us. Neither will trading Eric Johnson who have this board would have given away for a piece of Bubble Yum last season. So let's not get crazy over Eric Johnson and his okay triple a numbers. The guy has and will be a fringe prospects an AAAA pitcher.
