That's a fine idea, but there is a roster crunch when Gillaspie, Keppinger and Eaton are all back.
Maybe if the Sox didn't have a backup DH on the roster . . .
He can't be a placeholder unless he clears waivers. Even if you make him the last of the three to go, eventually he, Semien, and Danks all have to go down when Gillaspie, Eaton and Keppinger return.
Unless you are going to send LGarcia down and make Beckham the backup shortstop.
Of course, if they really like this guy I'm 100% behind cutting Keppinger loose.
This appeared in exact duplicate in last night's WGN-Cubs broadcast and in today's Bernstein article.
I don't live in Chicago, and even when I did I never listened to the guy, but does he have original ideas or does he just steal them all from others?
I won't lie. I find a 10-9 game far more entertaining, but I fell much better about my team if they are winning a game 1-0 than 10-9, if that makes any sense.
Beckham goes 4-4
Danks drives in two with a double
Two guys I'd never even heard of a month ago combine for 7 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 8K
I give up trying to figure this team out.

Haven't seen Sox lineup yet.
I don't know how much culture/history you think people should be expecting.
Nearly all of the visitors to Indy for major sporting events are coming from places other than New York, Chicago, LA, and DC. The amount of culture, history, and entertainment that Indianapolis has to offer is more than where they are coming from and more than enough to satisfy them. The only people I ever hear complaining about the lack of things to do in Indy are from Chicago.
Indy is not Chicago nor does it want to be Chicago. Indy wants to be a place where you can make the trip to the BIG Championships every year because nice hotel rooms cost $99/night, rather than having to save up for a few years to be able to afford the $249/night rooms in Chicago.
I have long since accepted the fact that a plurality, and possibly the majority of Sox fans have no clue how much value certain players actually have to the team.
Well, no city is going to match DC for culture and history, but there is more of that in Indy than people realize.
If you are from or have any connection to Indiana, the Indiana State Museum is really cool.
If you have kids with you, there is a top-notch Children's museum up near Butler. The zoo is also really good.
NCAA Hall of Champions
A Native American art museum
Mass Ave has a lot of trendy restaurants/clubs

I guess a brief summary would be that the Sox have had success in the past developing closers, felt that they could continue doing so rather than continue to pay escalating arbitration, and eventually free agency salaries to Reed, and also felt that Davidson could be a long-term impact bat at 3B when they have not had such a thing for quite a while.
