There are a lot of great numbers behind Frank Thomas, but this is perhaps the greatest. The combination of contact, plate discipline, and power.

If you don't think there are 10 guys worthy of a HOF vote and want to use one of your extra spots to throw a bone to a guy you covered, I have no problem with that. If you had to take somebody off your ballot to fit him in, then that's a problem, especially if it happened to be Biggio.

How long before the 2pm announcement do they start calling the players?

Make some room for the camel--it is Wednesday after all.

If that's what he really said then that's the biggest chickens*** answer I've ever heard. He's already planning on not voting for anybody for the next 5+ years. Now he is just using fan reaction as his excuse for doing so.

Regardless of whether or not you run a Cover 2, being able to get pressure on the QB just rushing 4 is very important, given the level of sophistication of passing offenses. You need to be able to drop 7 in coverage most of the time. Robert Mathis singlehandedly covers up an absolutely terrible defense in Indy because he gets to the QB so much.

I knew he had left ND, but hadn't heard anything about where he was going. Here is his ND bio along with last year's stats: http://www.und.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/cam...eid_806217.html -
Great! So tonight, several hours after the HOF votes are announced and I'm no longer in my car, I'll be able to get WSCR. How helpful!

Less overlap with the college season = more weekends with football. Would make February suck a lot less.

I'm indifferent about adding two more playoff teams. Here is something I would like to see, though it's far too radical to have a chance of ever happening: Convert one preseason game to a regular season game. Make the extra regular season game at a neutral site for all teams (London, Toronto, LA, college stadiums, etc.) Push the start of the regular season back to the 3rd Sunday in September. Have the first 15 weeks of the season, with each team having 1 bye. Then everybody has 2 weeks off the last Sunday in December and the first Sunday in January. Then have the last three weeks of the regular season. Playoff schedule picks up from there, with the Super Bowl the first week in March. Get rid of the Thursday games, except for the opening week and Thanksgiving. Have 3 Saturday games each of the last three weeks of the season.

I meant among the votes listed in the mlb.com article, not the overall count. Frank will easily beat them both in the overall count.

Yes, Gurnick is an idiot, but there are five others who didn't vote for Frank, and Frank getting fewer votes than Biggio and Morris is obscene. That upset me even more than Gurnick.

I'm a couple hundred miles outside their range.

I am going to be on the road on my way to a Dr. Appt. at 2pm. Recording MLBN at home though, so I'll get to see it later.

Louisville already employes Pitino, so this doesn't really change anything. -

14 degrees here now. Going to put shorts on when I get home.

Yes, it's the Colts. Only in 2001 (6-10) and 2011 (2-14) did they miss the playoffs. The Colts also made their two losing seasons count as much as possible, netting Dwight Freeney and Andrew Luck as first round draft picks.
-
No, the Patriots are second with 11.

Fun NFL Trivia: Which team has made the playoffs the most times (13) in the past 15 seasons, current season included?
