Stolen from twitter: Anytime you hear the phrase, "that's illegal in 49 states," the other state is ALWAYS Kentucky.

Saturday is a FOX game (but probably not in Montana). -
Christianity does not teach that God judges entire nations, communities, races, etc., for the sins of individual people.

Actually, I think people like this want/expect to be killed (many do it themselves) and having to rot in jail for 60 years might be more punishment than getting it over with now.
-
I agree with that completely, and this is clearly a very unusual situation, but in general, something bad is more likely to happen to your children at midnight compared to daylight hours.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/20/j..._n_1688776.html What kind of parents take children, let alone infants, to a midnight showing of a movie?

Everybody pretty much understands that "quality of food" was used within the context of the genre of fast food restaurants. Well, everybody except one.

Right. Thornton was the worst of the three possible options. Crawford had a .278 average against Thornton, so clearly that particular L-L matchup didn't bother him. Either leave Quintana in or bring Reed in. Of course, the offense scoring more than one run would have helped as well.

I rarely meet an average Cubs fan. I find most of them to be well below average.

IndyStar reporting that Luck has signed.

12 games out on Sept. 1? That's an awfully optimistic outlook for KC.
-
Maybe if they stopped calling him a sap, the Cubs would have more interest in him.

Players on the 40-man roster who have NOT been called up this year: Anthony Carter Simon Castro Nestor Molina Daniel Moskos That's it. That's the list.

I don't mean suppress them by means of not stating your opinions--I mean suppressing them by going out of your way to make sure that you don't treat people differently. You are asking if it can be construed that way, and yes, it can be, because our society has blurred, if not eliminated, the distinction between words and actions. If you're asking me if I think it was a good idea for him to say what he said, my answer would be no, but his words don't come anywhere close to being in violation of any law. You can't have all gay people voluntarily boycott the company and then turn around and use the lack of gay customers/employees as evidence that the company is discriminating.
-
To a certain extent, yes, but then everybody has a negative view of some groups and treats them differently. Nobody is perfect in that way. You can have beliefs and still suppress them to the extent that you are not discriminating in a significant way.
-
That makes me sad.
-
One thing I will point out, since the word discrimination was brought up here and its gross misusage is a pet peeve of mine: Having a belief by itself does not constitute discrimination. Discrimination requires an action. I can believe anything I want about people who are gay, Muslim, black, or old, but as long as I don't treat them differently when they patronize my business or apply for a job with me, then I am not guilty of discrimination. I happen to subscribe to the Christian teaching that homosexual activity is a sin, but I also subscribe to the Christian teaching that all people are to be treated with respect and that the best way to help a person deal with this, or any other sin, is to be welcoming to them and not to shout and yell insults at them. This is, unfortunately, lost among 90+% of the "Christians" that get air time on TV and give big money to the Republican Party.

I'm sorry, I was trying to say something so outrageous that people would know it was a joke without being in green. I guess I failed.
-
They are already discriminating against Atheists, Muslims, and Jews by being open 6 days a week but not Sunday. The ACLU should file a huge lawsuit to try to force them to be open on Sunday. In fact, the ACLU should file a lawsuit against every single business that isn't open on Christmas and force them all to be open.

This. Exactly. I choose where I eat based on location, price, and quality of food. I do not choose where I eat based on politics.

Youkilis was much less of a risk, considering the utter failure that 3B had been so far. There is actually a risk that you make LF worse by getting Pierre. Also, many posters on here didn't want Youkilis because of the assumption that it would take actual talent and or significant dollars to get him, when it turned out that it took neither.

It's not very often that the league leader in home runs is only third on his team in OPS. His power is back, but his OBP is nowhere near MVP-caliber.

Who are the top 3 pitchers and hitters in the MLB today?

H: McCutcheon, Hamilton, Votto P: Verlander, Weaver, Cain I'm slow to put rookies on the list, but Sale and Trout will be on there next year if they keep this up. -
I understand that. If the payout is 8/1 on the Bears winning the Super Bowl, then the payout should be 1/8 on them not winning.
