Is Quintana not an impact player, is Quintana not a rookie, or do you need to amend that statement?

Offense tends to be streaky for most teams. The good teams win during their offensive lulls due to good pitching. -
Doesn't seem to be a problem with this team.

Only Thornton and Reed have pitched in the last 3 days, so there are five guys in the bullpen who should be good for at least 2 innings each. If Axelrod makes it through 4 innings that's more than enough. I'd bet that Peavy is willing to help out as well. -
Alex Rios hitting like it is 2007 I think this is pretty likely Jake Peavy pitching like it is 2007 Jake may very well be pitching as well as in 2007, but he's never going to put up 2007 numbers pitching at the Cell Chris Sale pitching like a Cy Young winner This was my vote Jose Quintana pitching like a prime Mark Buehrle I know Quintana doesn't have a super fastball, but I think comparing him to Buehrle is not doing justice to how good his stuff is. Paul Konerko having the best all around year of his career Best average-probably, best OBP-maybe, best SLG-doubtful Addison Reed virtually untouchable as closer Nope, I see some potholes along the way Alejandro De Aza amongst the best lead offs in the game No, there is a lot of talent in the #1 hole right now, but he's more than adequate Aj having a career year offensively Pretty likely

I was at the game today, drank at least 2.5 liters of water, and didn't have to pee once. -
Guest services offered to move us to the top row of Section 109, but my stepmother offered to pay the $35 per person to upgrade to the Club level. Much thanks to Quintana and Harrison for getting this game over in 2 hours.

(A) Hope none of the fans die (especially me) (B) Hope the Sox win! -
This is going to be our Plan A. Also, from now on, any day games in June-August will be strictly Club level for us.

Yesterday is the kind of game that makes me cautious when using run differential to evaluate a team. Once the Sox got ahead by 10 or so, the Rangers weren't going to trot out their best relievers to try and keep the run differential down.

Well, when we bought the tickets 2 months ago, I wasn't anticipating 102 degree heat, and we opted for the lower deck first because the boy could get a good up close look at the players for his first game, and second because the discount codes don't apply to Club level seats. $80 for four lower reserved in the second row sounded a lot better than $220 for four in the club level.

What year/how many miles/how much you asking?

Crain is the first one of the injured who was actually contributing in a positive way. The rest of the injuries seem to have been blessings in disguise.
-
We used one of those special code things to get our seats for $20 each so I'm not sure how much it's going to cost us to exchange those for four tickets in the shade. I cringe at the thought of spending $100 more on tickets than I have to, but maybe these temperatures are going to force me to do that.
-
This bullpen is very short on experience right now, and I'd prefer not to waste bullpen innings when it isn't necessary. I also think we're all assuming that Sale is going to turn into a pumpkin after 150 innings and I'm not necessarily buying that.
-
Yes, I am hopeful that (1) there will be enough no-shows that some shaded seats will be open and (2) the usher in that section won't be a jerk and will let us sit there.

We bought four tickets for Thursday's game a few months ago, planning to take my 4 year old son to his first ever Sox game. Our seats are along the left field line very near the front row, which is a good up close spot for the kid to see action and maybe even get a foul ball. The problem now is that the forecast temperature is 102 degrees and our seats will not have any shade whatsoever. Skipping the game isn't really an option, given the money we've spent on the tickets and the fact that the kid has really been looking forward to this. Worst case scenario is that we only catch about 3 innings of the game and leave, but I'm looking for suggestions on how we might be able to last for most or all of the game safely and somewhat comfortably. This is the first time when I might actually miss the old Comiskey Park, where the upper deck hung out over the lower deck, providing some obstruction to the views along with some shade.

According to Gameday, Sale is now pitching to de Aza. Is that a new rule, once you get ahead by 16 the other team gets to borrow your pitcher? -
Q has two straight games with 8 shutout innings and gets ND in both, then gives up 6 runs in 6 innings and gets win. Sounds about right.

I think the tweet was from yesterday but just got posted today.
