  1. So I was watching the mlb network. They went over the braves and their lineup. And they said the organization would like another outfielder so prado could start at 3rd. They have juan francisco starting at 3rd right now. so why not give up one of our 4 outfielders and other minor leaguers for francisco? Either viciedo, de aza, rios, or danks? Francisco is a left handed power bat at 3rd. Could platoon with keppinger until ready full time. They really want a LF that can leadoff. So de aza might be a need.
  2. the mets have a young 3B sitting behind david wright we could try and get? wilmer flores http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y2012/
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) I would have said the same thing if it were suggested in the offseason. In season, given the situation the Red Sox were in, no, I wasn't surprised at all. I'm merely minding my own business over here. The idea of Chase Headley, Josh Hamilton, and Justin Upton in the same lineup is cool to think about but it's simply not realistic. I may have gone over the line stating it's a waste of space, but the odds of it happening are about the same as me winning the lottery. If you guys want to, keep proposing ridiculous trades. But, it's my right as an American and as a poster on this message board to shoot down an idea I think is ridiculous and absurd so long as I do it in a non-degrading manner, and I have done that. Yes sir, captain sir!
  4. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 05:39 PM) I just don't think discussing completely unrealistic things is fun. I have fun on this board discussing what could happen with the White Sox in the American League, not what could happen in a fictional universe where Floyd+Viciedo is worth something close to Headley and a prospect. EDIT: Also, it's a bit hypocritical to criticize the fact that I'm criticizing a post. If everyone should be allowed to post anything, then why are you upset that I'm posting something? Are you trying to take away my fun? And now your getting upset that I got upset?! And around and around we go! Judist just ignore it and move on to the next post. Was just having a little fun. Sorry to interrupt your perfect world!
  5. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 01:26 PM) Holy crap, the trade proposals on this board... Holy crap it's a fan message board. The message board nazi is here to take away any fun!
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 12:51 AM) $79.75 million between Konerko, Dunn, Rios, Peavy, Crain, Ramirez, Thornton, and Danks. $89.5 million with Upton added. Add even say $6 million with Headley and that's up to $95+. You're going to add even $20 million a year with Hamilton and you're up to $115 million minus any other amenities and other re-signings. It's fun to dream and all, but that's just not realistic. You wonder if bringing in more super star types if it brings more fans out which allows us to go a little higher on pay roll
  7. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 12:24 AM) I'd jizz myself and call it an offseason. How about we also trade Beckham, de aza, quintana, and a minor leaguer for justin upton C flowers 1B konerko/dunn 2B sanchez 3B headley SS ramirez LF upton CF hamilton RF rios 1. Sale 2. Peavy 3. Danks 4. Liriano 5. Castro LHP veal, thorton, septimo RHP crain, axelrod, jones CP reed
  8. viciedo and floyd traded to san diego for headley and a minor league pitcher. Then we turn around and sign josh hamilton top play LF.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 11:23 PM) Listen, when I get halfway good info I PM it out to a few people. My post was pretty rock solid. Our pitching is for sale, not many of our young position players unless its an awesome deal. I would give dayan up if justin upton was involved. Maybe start with dayan and floyd.
  10. i wonder if we even thought about moving courtney hawkins to 3B? our top pick last year. he has great athleticism and a very strong arm. he has a big bat for a corner infield position. and at 6'3" 220 has great size for it as well. could be an option in a couple years to take the position.
  11. Did he show that maybe he could be the left handed DH next year? Making dunn trade able?
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) Making it even more doubtful we'll pick up that 2013 option... Just too big of a risk, trying to trade him. Of course, the danger is having too many lefties with Danks, Sale, Quintana and ???/???. Santiago, Humber, Axelrod, Castro, Molina and Rienzo are all in the mix, one would think. Why its having too many lefties a problem? You can have 4 righties and that is fine.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 10:44 AM) It's the devil you know versus the devil you don't in Floyd vs. Liriano. Personally, I'm just as worried if we keep using Matt Thornton in key situations that Brett Myers will be locked in for $10 million on our roster next year. Unless it's as a starter, that would be a disaster for our payroll and make the bullpen prohibitively expensive...even as they've said it's not a factor, it has to be a prime KW consideration in determining whether we can retain AJ and/or Youk. And dumping that salary next year would be next to impossible as well. Thortton needs to go!
  14. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 6, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) If you assume he trades Quintana, you have to assume there's a good chance that it's part of a package for a pitcher in return. Otherwise, it would be AJ or Youkilis' replacement. Or, Beckham's replacement? This right here. I'd longer to see beckham packaged in a deal as well. You can always find defensive second baseman. See if we can't get a prospect third and second baseman. Our let saladino, try second. His fielding is very good, and his bat is no worse than beckham. Maybe not as much pop, but let's be honest it isn't like beckham has a big bat himself. Keep stocking the farm system.
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:48 PM) None of that is close to having any basis in reality. Wow just throwing s*** out. No need to take it personal! Wonder how realistic the hanley ramirez trade would sound before it went down? You would have said the same stupid s***.
  16. The cubs are fire selling too. Beckham, a top product, humber, another prospect To chicago for starling castro. Comes in and plays second.
  17. More proof of what is wrong with baseball. They need a cap. How do they take on his contract too. http://tracking.si.com/2012/07/23/ichiro-t...2&eref=sihp
  18. I'm also exited about barnum as I think he is the future at first base. I think pauly has three more years left in him to allow this kids to develop his huge power.
  19. I'd like to see castro get some opportunities in august and september to see what he has. If he succeeds then I would like to see floyd traded for more prospects to line our farm team, then go with a rotation next year like this. Sale Peavy-back at a lower price Danks Quintana Castro That would actually put 3 lefties in our starting rotation.
  20. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 27, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) Danks is not really impressing me very much in the outfield. Isn't he supposed to be really good there? He made a nice diving catch earlier in the game.
  21. Boy do you remember how bad he was last year? Maybe he is that much more comfortable in right field. If he can do this again next year I wouldn't mind him coming back. Definitely not for the same price. But he uss looking real good this year.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 09:13 AM) I think I'm at the point where I'd be willing to try something different at 3B. ODog is not the answer, Morel won't be back for a while, and I don't believe Escobar or Lillibridge are legitimate options. f*** it, I think I might give Dan Johnson a shot at this point if I was KW. We are coming to a crossroads soon, and I have concerns about our ability to remain competive if we continue getting no offensive production out of 3B. Giving Dan Johnson the job is the ultimate last resort decision, but he'd get some walks and hit some HRs, which I'd hope would compensate for the defensive downgrade he presents. I guess I don't see the harm at this point. If he sucks, which is very possible, give the job back to ODog or hopefully Morel eventually. I just think we need to try something, because things can't get much worse at 3B. If that Is the case why not try wilkins at third. I wonder if we could convert the kid we just drafted in the first round to play 3rd? He is big, athletic, and had a plus arm. Wr are loaded with outfield talent. He might grow even more into a corner infielder.
  23. How about matt davidson of arizona? He is the #9 third base prospect. Is 21 I don't know if he is ready our not, but gives us a future guy for there. Might be able to help right away. They have a young guy on the major roster playing right now that the manager is high on. Josh bell. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y2012/
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) So you'd rather have traded De Aza? ??? Ummmmm no! I like de aza. I was saying that to the person that said axelrod is only a AAAA player. The same was said by a few here about de aza too.
  25. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:51 PM) He's not good. AAAA material. As for trading Floyd to the Jays, that's a silly idea. Unless Floyd's right arm completely fell off today, his value couldn't be any lower. That is what a lot of people said about de aza too.
