  1. QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 12:04 PM) McCown did work against sorry ass defenses. He wouldn't have been the answer. BTW, the cap number jumped 10M this year, and is rumored to jump another 27M next season. It think that all coincides with what Jay is making. It's not about being the answer, it was just understanding with how atrocious the defense was last season, the last thing the bears needed was Jay Cutler and his bloated salary. It'd be one thing if he was a sure fire QB but he isn't even close. The Bears are rebuilding and I think it's tragic considering how Trestman has transformed the offense and very well may be the fall guy. McCown protected the ball and managed the game a lot better than Jay has. He distrubuted where Jay fixates and fires.
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 11:22 AM) I'm not continuing my point. Josh McCown is bad at football. He's not an NFL starter. If you honestly think letting go of Jay Cutler and going with Josh McCown as the STARTING QB of the Bears was a good idea then I can't help you and I don't need to continue with my point. Cool logic bro. McCown is more of a system QB. Yeah he has a low ceiling but he got the job done for the most part when Jay was down for the count. Trestman's system is just good that even a low ceiling QB can excel in it. Furthermore, McCown would just be a starter while we groom a QB for the future. I never really thought Jay would be apart of the future until the FO just showed they are ready to continue for mediocrity for years to come. I think it's laughable that people think Jay is the answer. I know all those years of s***ty QBs probably haunts people's dreams but that's like settling for a cute fat chick because you don't think you can do better.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) Yep. f*** the Ravens and Joe Flacco for setting the market at such a ridiculous rate. He won a super bowl though haha
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 10:54 AM) You spelled that wrong purposefully, right? It's a typo, why jump on that instead of continuing your point?
  5. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 10:43 AM) And who was going to play QB in this scenario? McCowan
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 10:32 AM) I do think it's still possible, but it was more likely when he was making 7 figures a season, not 8 figures. In a salary capped league, when he signed that bigger contract, the team became even more dependent on him winning games with his arm. The money is seriously the reason I'm up in arms. He's paid like an elite QB when he is a good one. Can you imagine if we had Aaron Rodgers on the Bears? The Bears would be 5-0 easily. I just think the price was too high for Jay and that we could have used that money on some DB's.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 07:04 PM) So the Tigers got swept, Michigan is 2-4, and the Lions lost. What a weekend for Detroit! (Throw in a horrible race by Brad K if you happen to follow NASCAR.) f*** DETROIT
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 03:38 PM) All I'm going to say is I'd rather be running some mixture of journeymen/Orton/rookies out there for essentially no cost and miss the playoffs than pay Cutler more than Aaron Rodgers and miss the playoffs. We took the big bet on a non-horrible QB and it didn't work. Move on. This is my only reason for being pissed. He DOES NOT DESERVE MORE THAN f***ING RODGERS AND THEY SHOULD HAVE LET HIM WALK.
  9. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 4, 2014 -> 11:42 PM) The NLCS is going to be so s***ty if the Giants make it Barring a miracle, that's probably going to be a reality.
  10. f***, just lost another bloody parlay.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2014 -> 10:26 PM) Bryce Harper about to walk it off with a homer. Book it. Just lost my condo.
  12. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 01:54 PM) I hear last month people were getting really good deals on jewelry in Ferguson. (RIMSHOT)
  13. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 01:08 AM) No, it's that he isn't surrounded by other people who are bad at baseball. This.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 2, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) That will be 4 more than he has now. Who am I kidding. As long as we have Cutler, the Bears are getting beat by the Packers.
  15. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 2, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) He'll be picking grass from his helmet all day as Allen will have 4 sacks.
  16. Secondary is a bunch of rookies for the most part and we didn't have Allen and Ratliff. Once the Bears get healthy, I anticipate they will be fine and will feast on GB at Lambeau.
  17. What is wrong with the Royals?
  18. I don't think the Tigers get past the O's I'd like A's to win. Royals too. Pretty much any team that has been in baseball futility for a while.
  19. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 01:41 PM) no playoffs in 6 years for either side does that He speaks the truth.
  20. Noob question, but why would Sale and Q sign team friendly deals like that?
