2014-2015 NFL Football thread

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 01:56 PM) Aaron Rodgers when his time is done is going to go down as one of the very best quarterback's of all time so comparing Jay to him is not fair. Cutler obviously has to be better but comparing him to Rodgers is just silly. This is so true. -
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 11:34 AM) The long lay off killed some of the excitement. Blame the O's and Cards for their lackluster NLDS and ALDS series.

I agree with a lot of points. I personally like Trestman. He's still a little rough around the edges with his coaching ability. However, Jay has a tendency to be a boom or bust QB. When's he hot, he's hot and when he's not he's not. He is just too inconsistent of a QB to be paid what he does. -

Yeah we all watch sports to root for our teams but I don't lose any sleep if they don't win. There are always bigger fish to fry. -

Is Jay drunk today? -
KC Sweep, they are the terminators at this point and unstoppable.

Royals vs Giants; an epic battle awaits.

QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Oct 15, 2014 -> 08:11 PM) you should have heard the GIants color guy... "What a clown... I've never seen a baseball flop until now. Pierzynski's a clown" How is he a clown when its the rules of MLB??? I didn't see what happened?

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 15, 2014 -> 10:42 AM) Alex Rios anybody? Masochist.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 14, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) He's offering to reverse Quinn's income tax hikes. That'll play nicely with most voters. It still saddens me that rich guy = horrible person in this country. Or more accurately, rich guy who is a Republican. Quinn isn't nearly as rich but he's still rich, as are most politicians these days. Blame the media? Personally, if Rauner just brings the state from laughing stock to respectable, that's all any voter could ask for. I have zero faith in Quinn. He was the Lt. Gov for a criminal although you could say that about a lot of Lt. Govs of Illinois past. I'm not sure how much money the income tax hike reversal would save the average Illinois citizen but I can't imagine it being "WOW" worthy. I'm still not understanding Rauner's plan to fix Illinois sans shock and awe tactics. I think him being a business guy should be interesting but you can't run a state goverment like you run a business.

Matt Stafford blows. I need to pick up a solid QB and WR -
That and those attack ads probably have merit about him laying off workers and obsessing over profits. I mean, that's business albeit probably not a very ethical way of doing it; and people are going to blow a gasket if he does something to that helps his rich buddies and leaves the middle class voter out to dry.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 06:21 PM) Intercepting passes on 4th down is a pet peeve of mine. Water under the bridge at this point, it might have sealed the game. -

Damn Jay, one week you break our hearts and the next you show how brilliant of a QB you are. Seriously, wtf. -
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 06:54 AM) Having a D next to your name in IL is 45% of the battle. All you have to do is make up about 6% of the remaining vote to secure a victory. The fact that Quinn is having this much trouble against an out of touch rich guy that nobody can relate too shows the ineptness on both sides if you ask me. It's Rauner. He's old, white, and rich. He can't do anything about that. Plus all of those attack ads just make him look a lot worse. Quinn has sucked so hard that people might just stay home.

Rodgers is just too good. He never panics, he's just clutch. -
QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 11, 2014 -> 11:14 PM) If the Republicans don't take the governorship, this proves that they are just completely inept in IL. My totally anecdotal read on things is that nobody likes Quinn Rauner should win in theory but this is once again the Republicans failing to put a candidate people can relate to. He is a billionaire that has done all the taboo things that's rich people do... like sneer at the poor.

Here we go again lmao
-
De Aza is hitting pretty well in the postseason.
-
Is this Rauner's first go at politics?
-
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 10, 2014 -> 03:58 PM) No it was pretty bad. Basically every question was answered with the exact same stuff from the attack ads that are playing constantly. It basically went like this for the whole debate: Moderator:"So, what are your plans to cut the budgetary deficit in our state?" Quinn: "Bruce Rauner had a company that outsourced jobs to India" Moderator: "But what about the pension crisis?" Quinn: "Billionaire Bruce Rauner pays $150,000 a year to be in an exclusive wine club, but wants to abolish the minimum wage? That's extreme, and Rauner is too extreme for Illinois." That's golden. What about Rauner?
