  1. Sale probably makes a good closer. If he can hold up. In hindsight, they should have kept him the bullpen and made him the closer going into this year. Thus Sale will never start again. Opens the door for Axelrod. Hope that he takes this opportunity and does well.
  2. Peavy is pitching well. C'mon get that complete game shutout and we will get you run(s)
  3. Man Peavy... we need a great start from you. Haven't won a game since your last start. Want to end this losing streak, stay above .500, and possibly get back into a tie for 1st place! The last two games have been ugly, get us looking pretty again.
  4. C'mon it is Nate Jones. lol. Inside joke.
  5. Santiago is going to have a few more chances at least. Have to wait now with Crain on DL. If you move Reed to closer, you are pretty short on proven right handed relief. Have to see what Axelrod brings to table. Nate Jones though has been decent so far. lol!
  6. Our first player on the DL this year. Knock on wood that our players stay healthy. Great job by Herm and Crew. Get Jesse back as soon as possible.
  7. Have to win one for the Moose tonight. RIP. Would be appropriate against the Red Sox.
  8. You have to stick with Mr. Screwball for now. If he doesn't do well, then Addison Reed would be next. However, then you have to rearrange the bullpen. You are going to need another righty set up man. And then you have to either send Santiago or Stewart down to AAA and bring up a righty reliever. No way do I want to see Thornton as a closer. He is doing great as setup and keeping his trade value high. Crain maybe..but he has to be 100% healthy which I don't think that he is. Prefer Reed though at this point. However no guarantee that Reed will do better than Santiago.
  9. Danks is in the ace slot of the rotation. He has to go out and pitch like the 'ace'. C'mon Danks, pitch like a 2012peavy. You 5+ ERA is too high.
  10. Let us hope that those Chicago tourist were cuBS fans. Getting the feeling that this isn't the Year of the Tiggs. Victor Martinez out, Al Al and Fister on DL, Young troubles, and Inge released!(Lol) Clevelanders versus White Sox for the division. I will take my chances. Just beat up on AL Central and the National League (6 games agains cuBS) and play .500 against the rest of the AL (only 6-8 so far..close..). Easy, right...lol!
  11. Just for the record there are only 29 MLB teams out there watching the White Sox. But just like everybody I look forward to MLB expansion into Honolulu and Anchorage in the distant future. I have no doubt that a change of scenery like Alaska would help out Viciedo.
  12. I have an old school solution. We have 5 closers on our team. Peavy, Sale, Humber, Danks, Floyd. Let them go 9! lol
  13. At his very core, Leyland has White Sox blood.
  14. So mechanically what makes Fielder faster than Konerko? Doesn't it come to how fast your move your legs. Legs are connected to your hips.
  15. It has to be the hip that makes him slow. Can't a person train to run faster? If he could train to be faster, I bet he would.
  16. Yeah, I think Morel would be more productive batting 8th or 9th. When you bat second you have to do different things at times like moving runners over or taking pitches to let a runner steal a base. And you are batting ahead of the heart of the order, thus more pressure to get on base. I think Morel is still developing (kinda like Crede did) and just needs more ABs. I don't think that we ever batted somebody like Crede in the second spot, especially in his sophomore season. lol. Morel showed that he could hit at the end of last season. I don't think that was fluke month or so.
  17. You have some good suggestions. However, I am not sure that I would count on Conor Jackson. But you never know. I do want Dunn to sit when LHPs are up there. You can easily play Brent Lillibridge against LHPs in either LF or 1B and put PK or the Tank at DH. And with Beckham...if he continues to struggle..you have to change his role and make him more of a defensive late inning replacement guy. Have to give Escobar a chance. He did have a promising spring. I have no problem with Kosuke Fukudome platooning with Rios. Only problem with Fukudome is that he hits well historically in the beginning of the season and then starts to falter. But, he might be a decent option batting #2 against RHPs.
  18. To their credit, Morel and Beckham play excellent defense. They just need to have some better ABs and be average hitters. Just average! lol! For some reason, I feel more confident that Morel can break out of his slump than Beckham. There really is no answer for the #2 slot. Morel at least can bunt (I think...lol). I know that Beckham cannot bunt. Maybe the answer eventually will be bench Beckham (make him your utility player) and start Escobar and/or Lillibridge and try one of them in the 2nd spot. No guarantee that works but you have to try something.
  19. Well we battled in the ninth. Brought the tying run up to the plate and kept it interesting. Just wasn't meant to be. Didn't like the pitching changes, but we also only scored two runs. Thus, a team loss. Cannot win them all, try again tomorrow against the O's. Humber's debut.
  20. AJ is da man. Drives in Dunn. Tying run in the on deck circle.
  21. Well, time for a big rally. Tiggs bring in their closer. And Dunn continues to hit the righties. Sweet.
  22. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 04:01 PM) Disagree on your first statement thought the decision was fine given the batter was Prince..... I do agree he probably should of left Stewart in but he probably is still feeling out his team, I'm sure Robin will have less and less confidence in Ohman as the season progresses. Not sure why Ventura doesn't trust Stewart. He could have even brought Stewart in the sixth to start the inning. He is the long reliever and that seemed like a spot for the long reliever since our Sale threw so many pitches and could only go five. Didn't like Sale starting the sixth. He already threw 100 pitches. Tiggs were having good ABs against him. Sale must have been tiring.
  23. Not feeling Ventura's pitching changes today. 1. Ventura let Sale start the 6th. He already had thrown 100 pitches. If Jones starts that inning, then probably Tiggs don't score a run that inning 2. 8th inning. I feel that Stewart should have stayed in there. He did get Tiggs out 1-2-3 in the 8th. But if you want to bring in Ohman, then it has to be for one batter (lefty)..LOOGY..lol...and then bring in Reed. That is my opinion. Could have probably kept this game 2-1!
