Wasn't he tryin to add a cutter like Loaiza used so effectively this year? If he can use it effectively at 92MPH which is his fastball speed I think, he'll become a much more dangerous pitcher.
-
Can't u play with a team of Mascots?
-
Sounds like u had a good defensive game. I used to play PG for my local BBall team a few years ago. Wasn't much of a scorer, but I prided myself on givin my opponent hell wheneva he had da ball.

Here r some more articles bout Roberto Alomar and Odalis Perez. St. Louis Post Dispatch Article Chicago Sun Times Article L.A Times Article While contract negotiations between the Angels and Garret Anderson remain dormant, General Manager Bill Stoneman said Thursday — and agent Chris Arnold confirmed — the team has made two four-year proposals to the All-Star outfielder in recent months. "We haven't had a response to either one," Stoneman said. Although Arnold said Wednesday the Angels had not fulfilled their promise to deliver a contract extension offer to Anderson, the agent clarified his comments Thursday, saying he did not consider either bid viable because Stoneman indicated the offers were non-negotiable. Stoneman said he simply alerted Arnold the Angels would not bid against themselves. Anderson, cited by Manager Mike Scioscia as one of the top five hitters in the major leagues, will earn $6.2 million next season, in the final year of a four-year, $21-million contract. Neither Arnold nor Stoneman would confirm the value of the Angel offers, but the first was believed to be similar to the extension signed by outfielder Darin Erstad (four years, $32 million) and the second was believed similar to the one signed by outfielder Tim Salmon (four years, $40 million). Although Arnold said Wednesday the Angels would risk losing Anderson in free agency if an extension were not completed by opening day, both sides on Thursday expressed a willingness to resume discussions. Arnold spoke with Stoneman on Thursday and stressed that Anderson prefers to remain with the Angels. "We want to do a deal with the Angels," Arnold said. "We've made that very plain." With the Anderson talks on hold, the Angels continued negotiations Thursday with free agents. Although the Angels indicated they would pursue offensive help after last month's signing of pitcher Kelvim Escobar, and although they have focused on outfielders Vladimir Guerrero and Shannon Stewart and shortstops Miguel Tejada and Kazuo Matsui, indications emerged that they might sign a pitcher and then trade for hitters. "The next move doesn't have to be a starting pitcher, but it could be," Stoneman said. An official from another major league team said he believed the Angels had offered pitcher Bartolo Colon a four-year, $48-million contract. Stoneman declined to confirm or deny the offer but said a deal was not imminent with any free agent. Mitch Frankel, the agent for Colon, did not return several calls. By adding Colon, the Angels could offer Jarrod Washburn or Ramon Ortiz in trade and still keep Scot Shields in the bullpen as insurance against another faulty season by Aaron Sele. The financial commitment involved in signing Colon would probably preclude the Angels from signing Guerrero — and perhaps Matsui and Tejada, given the interest of both New York teams in signing Matsui and the bidding that could result from the Detroit Tigers' avowed willingness to overpay for Tejada. Stoneman also indicated he had talked with the Montreal Expos about ace Javier Vazquez, traded Thursday to the New York Yankees. "It would have required us to weaken ourselves in one area in order to strengthen ourselves in another," he said. "That's not something I wanted to do."

Damn u really had me worried for a minute there.
-
We've only got 4 teams in the league at the moment and we need more, so if u want to play join up now.
-
I wouldn't call Ross Gload much of a prospect but you're rite we do hav one of the better farm systems in the Major League but it was a shame we gave up so many good 1's for Alomar and Everett who in all likelihood won't be returnin in 2004. Hopefully we'll hav a good draft again to restock our system.

Saw Gammons on Sportscenter tonite and I think he said that Colon will sign with da Angels on that 4 year deal that they offered.

Also from MLB.com, Rockies: In separate interviews with the Post and MLB.com, O'Dowd rated the club's chances at signing Aurilia to play shortstop a long shot. The Post mentioned Deivi Cruz, Pokey Reese, Rey Sanchez and Jose Hernandez, who played for the Rockies in 2002 but was traded as his strikeouts mounted, as possibilities. O'Dowd acknowledged to MLB.com that he is exploring trade possibilities for a shortstop. Royals: Kansas City appears to be closing in on the free agent signings of catcher Benito Santiago and outfielders Raul Mondesi and Matt Stairs. But as of Wednesday night, GM Allard Baird said no deal has crystallized. The Royals would prefer to wait until after Sunday to sign a free agent outside the organization because then they might not have to surrender draft picks as compensation. It appears negotiations with in-house free agents Rondell White and Brent Mayne have stalled, but the club is working to sign veteran reliever Jason Grimsley before Sunday's deadline. Mariners: Cameron has been offered a one-year contract for about $4 million, a substantial pay cut from last season's $7 million. The Mariners must decide by midnight ET Sunday whether to offer Cameron salary arbitration. But it also could mean that Cameron accepts the arbitration offer and has his 2004 salary determined by a three-man arbiting board. Rays: GM Chuck LaMar said he does not anticipate any more deals before the Winter Meetings. However, the Rays are having ongoing discussions about a number of free agents, mostly hitters. The Rays have an interest in outfielders Juan Gonzalez, Carl Everett, Jose Cruz and Reggie Sanders and first baseman-DH Brad Fullmer.

Here r the articles, Mets Article Yanks Article Angels Article Twinkies Article Looks like if the Angels resign Garret Anderson on a long - term deal, they mite not hav enough left for Colon.
-
I hope he does end up goin to Boston for sure, and I think he'd be a betta option for em than Keith Foulke, who'll then resign in Oakland in all likelihood. Minnesota's pen is turnin from their strength into their weakness now.

Nothin much new, both r still far apart. Even after filing for free agency, Roberto Alomar said re-signing with the White Sox was his "first priority." Alomar indicated his willingness to take a substantial pay cut from the $8 million he made in 2003 and acknowledged he would be open to a one-year contract "depending on the team we have." But with a de facto Sunday deadline looming, Alomar's window for returning gets smaller by the day. Roberto's brother, Sandy Jr., who re-signed with the Sox last week, said he purposely has avoided getting involved in the negotiations. He hasn't spoken to Roberto since his younger brother visited him in Chicago two weeks ago. "Robbie's a grown boy; I can't tell him what to do," Sandy said. "I know he had fun when he was here. But at the end of the day, he'll look at his best interests." The 35-year-old Roberto, who needs 321 hits to reach 3,000, appears to be holding out hope the Sox will offer a two-year deal. "I don't know if that's putting a stall in the whole situation," Sandy said. Roberto Alomar, an ace defender who hit .253 in 67 games with the Sox last year, might be out of luck in his quest for a multi-year deal. The Marlins, an early suitor, re-signed second baseman Luis Castillo. The Rockies acquired Aaron Miles from the Sox. The Cardinals and Yankees have yet to express strong interest, at least publicly. Sox general manager Ken Williams, who could not be reached for comment Thursday, said earlier in the week that he was "not optimistic at all" about the Sox's chances of re-signing Alomar and that second-year player Willie Harris would focus on playing second base in winter ball. Williams will need to know by Sunday whether Alomar wants to accept his one-year offer, which is believed to be worth $3 million to $4 million. Sunday is the deadline for teams to offer salary arbitration to their free agents. If the Sox offer arbitration to their five remaining free agents—Alomar, Bartolo Colon, Carl Everett, Scott Sullivan and Tony Graffanino—they can continue negotiating with them until Jan. 8. If they don't, they can't re-sign them until May 1. The decision can be tricky. If the Sox offer to arbitrate with Colon and he signs with another team, the Sox would receive two picks in the 2004 amateur draft—likely a first-rounder plus a pick sandwiched between the first and second rounds. But offering arbitration can be a great risk, and there's little chance the Sox will roll the dice with either Alomar or Everett. Although Alomar's numbers fell off last season, there's no guarantee an arbiter would rule that he's worthy of a pay cut. Such a decision, according to industry sources, would be almost unprecedented. The Sox are expected to offer arbitration to Colon, who made $8.25 million last season. That would extend, at the very least, their window for negotiating with him. Colon rejected the Sox's three-year, $36 million offer in late October, but with the Yankees having acquired right-hander Javier Vazquez and the Phillies having traded for Twins lefty Eric Milton, Colon's options appear to be dwindling. The Sox's desire to re-sign Colon for something less than $12 million a year could depend on Anaheim. A source close to Colon said Thursday that the Angels had offered a four-year deal worth $48 million, but that could not be confirmed. "This is a great place to play baseball," Sandy Alomar said of Chicago. "Bartolo can focus on playing the game. The teams that give most of the money sometimes have a lot of distractions, and you get a lot of attention. I think it's a good fit here. Bartolo's a mellow and quiet guy, and the opportunity to win here is good." On another front, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday the Dodgers strongly were contemplating a trade for Sox first baseman Paul Konerko, a former star in the Dodgers minor-league system who hit a career-low .234 last year. A proposed deal for left-hander Odalis Perez apparently has been on the table for weeks and a West Course source said Thursday the Dodgers were more likely to pursue other options. One of those could be Magglio Ordonez, whom the Sox would give up only because of his $14 million salary in 2004.

Hence why they want to trade Spivey, Ginter will hold down 2nd for em this year, bf Weeks comes thru and starts in 2005, mite as well trade Spivey for sum pitching. Mayb Dan Wright and a prospect for Spivey?
-
The only way Jenkins comes here is if da Brewers pay part of his salary. I'd rather go afta Spivey instead, he's only makin bout $3 mill in 2004 I think, and the Brewers want to trade him cos of Richie Weeks movin up quickly in da farm system.
-
I think u'll see da deal done by the end of the weekend. The key at the moment is Kaz Matsui, and if he signs with the Mets, then the Dodgers may want Valentin as well to add some pop, but I also think they'd want Rich Aurilla from the Giants, but I've heard the Rockies made him the no. 1 priority this offseason. If we include Valentin and Konerko for Perez and Isturis it'll save us at least $5 mill mayb more.
