Well this offseason is very important for KW to say the least. He's got a payroll of about $55 to $60 million to fit under, and if Ozzie's a failure here, I think KW will be shown the door. I think he did all he could last season gettin Alomar and Everett but it was JM's blunders which ended up costing us a spot in the postseason.

Scott Schoeneweis is expected to be the fourth starter, with GM Kenny Williams looking for a pitcher at the top of the rotation to replace Colon. The White Sox's three-year, $36 million offer to Colon was rebuffed. Garland, the enigmatic 24-year-old right-hander, avoided arbitration Monday with his signing, a salary bump from $375,000 last season. Garland posted a 12-13 record, matching a career high in victories, with a 4.51 earned-run average in 2003. Garland also finished with 18 quality starts in 32 trips to the mound. But his numbers were virtually unchanged from 2002 and, once again, he started slowly. Garland had a 2-3 record with a 6.88 ERA during his first seven starts and was 10-10 with a 3.97 ERA during his final 25. Interesting, I've heard various reports sayin KW ain't gonna offa him arbitration to save some more money.

Exactly these guys are fast and quick enough to play a fast break up tempo type of offense. To do that they need guys who can crash da boards and Chandler and Curry can do that fine. Guys like Pippen and Rose wouldn't fit in to that type of offense though. If they can get Mo Pete and Davis from Toronto, even betta.
