Webber's pretty much got nothing left. Charles Rosen from Foxsports.com wrote up a really good piece on what he'll have to offer. Basically the conclusion was Nelson will be lucky to get more than 5 mins a game out of him.

I went for my 1st swim in probably 8 years this morning. I did 5 50m laps, and I was absolutely buggered. Stopped after doing 2. Bit of a wake-up call really. Although forgetting to stretch beforehand, and then having my arms feel extremely heavy during my stroke probably has something to do with it.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 10:04 AM) They don't need more scoring. And dominating down low is what STAT is for. big ben wouldn't slow them down as much as shaq will and would provide a decent defensive presence, which that team has always needed more of. Also, pax is an idiot. Well, if they wanted a defensive presence, they would of just kept Kurt Thomas to begin with IMHO. Certainly better than giving up a real good talent in Marion for an aging bigman who can't score. At least with Shaq you know he can still dominate when healthy. I dunno, I guess I'm just trying to see the logic on their end (although it's quite hard). Playing a fast break style is probably never going to win you a championship. Maybe Steve Kerr has convinced Mike D'Antoni of this, and when it comes to the playoffs, they'll play more of a half court offense with Shaq anchoring the middle, Amare and Nash playing the pick and roll, and Diaw, Bell, Hill and Barbos on the wings able to shoot the jumper, or cut into the lane. And agreed on Paxson (mainly because of not drafting Iguodala, Roy or Aldridge).

You want Jermaine O'Neal with a bum knee Palehosefan? That's quite a risk in itself.
-
Well Ben's not exactly that much use for Phoenix. He can't score. At least Shaq can still probably dominate down low. And I think Phoenix were really after for a big center so that they could play Amare at PF. Would the Bulls even do Marion for Wallace? Marion and Banks for Thomas and Wallace?

Ok I'll have a crack; 1 - I think it's time for some fresh blood. America has had Bush, then Clinton and then Bush for the past 24 years or so. As unfair as that maybe for Hilary, I just wonder if we'll see more of the same as before. 2 - Will she always be in the shadow of Bill? And what role will Bill have? And I don't like Hilary talking about the things she learned when she was the first lady and how she's going to use that as President. A lot will have changed in 8 years since then. 3 - Policy wise, I haven't really looked much at the difference b/w her and Obama. My main reason for liking Obama (even though on a pick your president survey I did, it chose Mitt Romney for me, yikes), is because of the buzz he is getting, and how he grabs your attention in those speeches etc. In no way do I hate her for being a female candidate. The position should go to the best person there is for the job, no matter their race / gender etc. I just think Obama would do more, and I think he would actually improve relations worldwide with America (but that's JMHO).

1 other thing as well, Shawn Marion is so dependant on Steve Nash. Marion's not a guy who can really create his own shot. So I wonder how he'll do in Miami. They've got Jason Williams to distribute the ball, but not much else. But still Wade, Marion and the upcoming early draft pick (or they could trade that for a star, I wonder if they would actually look at Kidd, as crazy as that sounds, Riley doesn't want to re-build), is a pretty decent nucleus.

Someone was saying as well, the Suns don't exactly play a 5 man fast break. So I guess whenever they want to play half court, they'll go to Shaq, when they play a 3 or 4 man fast break, they'll go to Amare, Nash etc. If Shaq is properly motivated and actually healthy, I can actually see this move paying off when they have to play the Lakers, Mavs and Spurs in a playoff series.

82% counted in CA-LI-FORNIA, Clinton at 52%, Obama at 41%. New Mexico is neck and neck, Obama by 1% at 49% to 48% at 85% counted.
-
So what's the logic Steve Kerr is thinking here if he acquires Shaq? Maybe they are trying to match up with the Lakers size wise. Diaw vs. Odom, Amare vs. Gasol and Shaq vs. Bynum. Maybe Kerr thinks they are never going to make it out of the West without a decent half court game in the playoffs and Shaq will help that. They could always start Grant Hill against quicker lineups as well. All depends on Shaq's health I guess.

What's a good result for Obama in terms of how much he can narrow the gap in California to? Say 6% or so, would Obama be ahead in delegates if he only lost by that much?
-
Where are you getting those tables of percentages from athomeboy?
-
I'd love to see the unknown candidate/s who's winning 60% of the vote in that primary. EDIT: That's UTAH.
-
How much of a surprise is Obama winning CT so far? How many delegates in that state?
-
Hmmm, Clinton winning in California the big one there. I thought Clinton would be up in the polls in New Jersey though. EDIT: Massachusetts as well.
-
You could maybe sell the Astros or Reds on acquiring Lowry for their respective rotations. Not sure what other NL teams would be interested in him though.
-
So when are the 1st results for the majority of the states meant to be coming through?
-
Kanoute's really come on as a footballer since he left West Ham and then Tottenham to go to Sevilla. Juande Ramos took him to another level. And now he's managing Spurs. Arsenal's 2 points ahead of Man Utd in the Premier League now as well.

They always run these ads every Aussie Day as well;

Oh please not him kyyle23, I've seen way too much of that pimple popping freak over the past few weeks.

I used to swim but that was a while ago now. I'm going to force myself to get up each morning at 6 and swim 400M for 4 weeks. And I started running for 4 mins, took a break for 8 mins, then ran another 4 minutes around the block. Tomorrow it'll be sprints, then breaks, then sprints, and then the long runs and the breaks and to keep the cycle going.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 01:58 PM) Heh. We're turning you into an American. Let's just say I have a vested interest in who your next President is (after the debacle that has been Bush, and most people outside of the U.S would say that). We are allies after all.
-
And that's good for me, and not so good for all of you. But let's hope Obama's recent momentum carries him through tomorrow.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 05:45 PM) Has anyone ever done High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)? If you haven't, google it and take it under consideration. I'm in the peculiar position of training to gain weight, but meanwhile burning excess fat. I didn't want to abandon cardio workouts in the process, either. So I found HIIT and decided to try it out tonight since the temperature outside was around 40. And let me just say, it knocks the living hell out of you. The concept behind the entire program is running at maximum effort for a short period of time, walking for several minutes, then repeating the process. I would run as fast as I could for 15 seconds and rest for roughly two minutes. It seemed fairly easy in the beginning. After about set four I could no longer run at 100%, but I trudged along anyways. Then the maximum effort decreased, and the breaks became longer than two minutes. By the time I got to my 8th set I was about to pass out. Couldn't do anymore. People swear by this, and judging from just one day I wouldn't blame them. My entire body is exhausted; and I'm in shape. I previously would jog at a moderate pace for 30 minutes. The only reason I abandoned jogging was it seemed to be holding back my muscle growth. It's a good program and I"m sure people such as Tru have heard of it. Well I put my name down to do a Work Triathlon in 1 month (not sure exactly why). I have to do a 400M swim, 10KM bike ride (about 6 miles I'd say) and a 4KM run (about 2.5 miles). I might try this training out, let me know how much fitter Flash you've become by doing this.
