QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) Please explain why I'm an idiot and if you believe Crede is good at making that type of play. How many times over the past few seasons have you seen Joe Crede make good defensive plays at 3B, compared to a lot of other third baseman?

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) One of quickman's many prospect buddies Wes Whisler with a nice outing tonite for W-S in their victory. That would be quite a list wouldn't it Jim. Whisler's actually been really good lately. His ERA was up above 4 IIRC about a couple of weeks tonight. Tonight's outing has it down to 3.59 now. 8IP, 1ER, 2BB's and 3K's. Ray Liotta, 7.1IP, 4ER, 4BB's and 3K's. Tom Collaro 3 for 4 with a 2B. Richard Brooks picked up a win as well. 4-5 with a 5.10 ERA now. Went 5.1IP, 7H, 4R, 2ER, 0BB's and 3K's. A fairly good outing for him.

BA having problems low and away. Sounds a lot like the early 2004 version of Aaron Rowand.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 12:47 PM) Miguel Cabrera. Ah yeah, cos he is playing 3B this season isn't he. Still Joe would be a top 5 guy IMHO.

How many different third baseman would you like right now, compared to the contract, age etc. that you have to factor in for Crede? I can only think of David Wright and maybe Ryan Zimmerman off the top of my head. Crede's hitting much better this season, and he's in a little bit of a slump on the field at the moment. Doesn't mean you should be jumping off a bridge saying how overrated he is.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) Didn't Washington just send Ryan Church down to the minors? I would imagine he would come pretty cheap because he is only collectively hitting around .210 for the year. Also how in the world do you think that the Brewers would be willing to trade Corey Hart? Aren't they very high on that kid? Yeah Church was only hitting .210, but he still put up an OPS over .800 with that BA. And last season he had splits of .287/.353/.466. Would be perfect in CF at the moment if he could re-produce that. Milwaukee's in an interesting situation at the moment. Carlos Lee could either be re-signed or traded. Brady Clark could be let go like you've said. And I think this is Geoff Jenkins's last year on his contract (or he may have 1 left I can't remember exactly). They've got a lot of guys like Hart, Gabe Gross and Nelson Cruz who are too good for AAA but not in the Brewers everyday lineup. You could probably get an OF from them for the right offer which would be some sort of pitching. Clark, Hart or Church would work for me.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) It wasn't particularly pretty by Montero, but he deserves credit for a job well done. Yep, and his ERA is down to 3.60 now, albeit he's only pitched about 5 innings. It's very Vizcaino like though, and if he can keep it there, he could definitely have a role in this pen.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 05:07 AM) Wait until you guys see Peter Crouch's "Robot" dance. Ridiculous. Once of the funniest celebrations you'll ever see for a goal. Hopefully he'll bring it back out if he scores again. -
Gage will be mightily pleased with that.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 04:25 AM) See, I couldn't get into them. To me it sounds like the worst parts of Black Sabbath, Monster Magnet and Led Zeppelin. I see trucker hats and "vintage" Foghat t-shirts when I hear Wolfmother. Some of their songs like The White Unicorn and Tales from the Forest of Gnomes I could get into really easily, but then others like Apple Tree were pretty bad I thought. So it's a mixed bag. I do like em like I said earlier in the thread, but they could be better, and hopefully their next album shows this.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) I really want out of this pile of s*** job. You need the George Costanza logic here to get out of your job; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Costan...George_Costanza

QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) As far as guys realistically being available, Milw.'s Brady Clark would have to be up there. With his $3.1 mill salary, and age 33. Esp. if the Brewers continue free falling. I don't know much about his defense. But his RH bat [both avg, obp and slg] would be nice. Clark's an interesting one. I remember he was in RF for a while when Pods was their CF, but he's better defensively than Scotty, with a much better arm IIRC (or at least that was the discussion we had going here a while back). The thing is with Clark he's hitting .282, but he only has an OPS of .716. Great OBP of .384 though. He's pretty much a Podsednik clone offensively minus the speed. I'd really like to take a chance on a guy like Church who has a +.800 OPS, and hits for better power. And I think those numbers would go up as he moves from RFK to the Cell.

If I was going to pick a team to suprise it would be Ukraine. In a pretty easy group, and they have a great striker in Andrei Shevchenko (just signed for Chelsea).
