GAME THREAD 6-11-06 SOX vs INDIANS
QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:48 AM) I hate Tigerfan so much. Why can't he just go away? I know he hasn't posted, but just the thought of him lurking here pisses me off. Dude seriously, take it easy. He's allowed to be here.

GAME THREAD 6-11-06 SOX vs INDIANS
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:25 AM) Note to Brian.... when you're f***ing terrible at the plate, don't fake a bunt on a first pitch fastball down the plate. I love hitters who are 3-37 with RISP. I wonder if they were Ozzie's instructions. Of course there was a time BA swung at the 1st pitch in a similar situation, and lined out to 3rd, and people were flaming him for not working the count.

You think Mark Shapiro's regretting keeping Ramon Vazquez over Brandon Phillips right now?

GAME THREAD 6-11-06 SOX vs INDIANS
QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:16 AM) I'm not sure how so many still favor a leadoff guy who a)cant bunt for s***, b)doesnt know how to keep the ball on the ground when hitting, c)cant play defense for s***, and d)has a noodle arm. Oh thats right, he sure can steal bases!! Awesome. C'mon Cap. Pods has a GB/FB % of 50.9% this season. granted it's down for his 56% from last season, but it's still alright. We all know he's terrible defensively, but that shouldn't factor into his success as a leadoff hitter.

QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:06 AM) Ozuna has won more games for us than Pods has. Yep, if only Ozuna started for us in Game 2 of the World Series last year.

Let me just say, I told you BA should start against a righty!!!

Hitting Coach
QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) I'm not looking at statistics as much as talent. I think there are better hitting coaches around and would like an upgrade. Well how do you propose we get a better hitting coach?

Congratulations Agustin Montero
QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) Did Urbina get out of jail? Not yet. And I don't know if we'll be seeing him again for a LONG time.

Holland up 1-0 already. Arjen Robben the serial diver on fire.

Politte replacement?
Hawkins mentioned again;

arow coming back?
Gillick wants to build around pitching and defense as well. So Rowand's very imporant to them in that regard.

Anderson's game saving catch last night...
I'm hoping BA actually gets a start against a righty soon. He has an OPS of about .200 better against them compared to lefties.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 03:03 AM) Luh Ame, Lame. I liked Hands Open enough to buy the album, but the song really bothers me now as does the rest of the album. The lyrics give the opportunity to convey a s*** ton of emotion, but everything is so controlled. The music is pretty tight, but this would be a better album if it wasn't so polished and the singer let loose. I need to hear his voice crack when he sings that his hands are open... He oughta be giving it everything. On the album it sounds like he can't be bothered to. Yeah those were pretty much my thoughts as well. I did like Open Your Eyes though, but I guess you have to like that slower type of song. But they definitely could have pushed the boundaries quite a bit more, and they would have something pretty good.

Honestly I'm suprised Brad Friedel ain't your goalie. He's had a great season for Blackburn Rovers propelling them to Uefa Cup Qualification.

Politte replacement?
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 12:26 PM) Another name: Armando Benitez. Has a ridiculous contract and really hasn't been all that good... but he is coming off an injury and we're desperate, I guess, so he is worth tracking. 4-0, 4 SV, 3 BLSV, 1.88 ERA, 1.67 WHIP. I doubt the Giants will trade their closer while they've still got Bonds.
-
Ken Rosenthal Note
I think Philly would rather trade Burrell or Abreu and let Victorino take over. Victorino's cheap, and if you move one of the other 2 OF's, Pat Gillick can put more money towards his SP in the off-season, or in a trade now. Matos is definitely more realistic than Corey Patterson. I don't really see how he would be an upgrade over say Brady Clark though.

Uribe
So we're halfway around the infield now. I'm assuming Tadahito Iguchi will be the next to feel shoota's wrath?

England and Paraguay to kick off soon, while Sweden takes on Trinidad and Tobago. Paraguay could suprise some people tonight, Roque Santa Cruz is an excellent striker, I give them quite a chance of snatching a draw.

Mike Cameron
QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:26 PM) I wouldn't deal Fields for a stop gap like Cameron. No way. Now, if it was for Linebrink and Cesar Carillo.... You could even include Jon Garland in on the discussions. He's a California boy, so I don't think he would veto a trade there. Pitching at PETCO would help him immensely. If you offered Garland and Fields, you could get back Linebrink, Carillo and some more prospects or include another bullpen guy like Scott Cassidy.

Hey it could be worse. We could have Todd Jones as our closer.
