Colours that end in the word urple? But yes Timo sucks, Uribe might get something going in the 2 spot possibly.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) Oh and 5 outs in 4 plate appearences today. Lets get him more at-bats. And the sad thing is right now if I looked at it, Ozzie and KW would probably bring back Timo next year for around the same price.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) I do not understand Duhon love affair i would of let him go. And what move Gordon into the starting lineup? There goes the defensive advantage the Bulls had.

Looks like me jumping on the "Promote Anderson before September bandwagon" paid off. Now they've just got to keep him up for the rest of the year.

Christie's a lockerroom cancer if he and his wife aren't in a situation they want e.g being traded from Sac. to Orlando.

Steve Elkington is no substitute for Adam Scott. That is all. Congrats to Phil though.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) he dominated at low A, but he hasnt come close to dominating in his 9 starts at WS. Liotta has, and Haigwood has dominated at AA Let's have a look at the splits on Liotta and Gio; Liotta's got a 1.46 ERA with a 19/5 K/BB ratio giving up 0 HR's in 4 games started. Gio's got a 4.47 ERA with a 54/18 K/BB ratio giving up 3 HR in 9 games started. In Gio's last outing though he pitched 7 shutout innings with 5 K's and 1 BB. Since he was a high school pitcher he was always going to take longer than other pitching prospects. Broadway's just started in Winston - Salem as is already dominating, while Gio started in Bristol.

QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Gio's had a dominant year as well, I dont know that you can say he's been passed Yeah Gio's been doing much better down at Winston - Salem lately. Considering he's only 19 and in his 1st full year in the minors, while Liotta's older and Haigwood's 21, I still like Gio longer - term as the best prospect. That said, Liotta and Haigwood especially are moving up the lists in our best prospects.

Don't know if this has been tossed up or not, Jermaine Dye's played a bit of LF in his major league career, I know it would suck defensively but you could have Dye or Everett in LF and RF, and call up Ross Gload to be the DH. Of course due to the premium on defence for Ozzie it's likely not happen.

We better keep Konerko, his numbers are just as...

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 03:59 AM) I'd do Tracey/Anderson for Overbay without hesitating. Keeping BMac and still having Sweeney/Owens/Young in the minors would be fabulous. Of course you would, Doug Melvin would be laughing though. The Brewers don't need OF's although that's what a lot of people believe. They already have Carlos Lee, Geoff Jenkins (who's been crushing the ball lately) and Brady Clark. Then they have Nelson Cruz hammering in AAA ball and Dave Krynzel as well. The Brewers are basically set for the next 5 years, they're set-up in a wonderful position and could very well win the wild - card in 2006. What do they need? Good relievers, to help the likes of Derrick Turnbow. -

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 03:52 AM) I'd throw up. I'd rather have Chad Tracy. Stop stealin my ideas Jason. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:01 PM) I'll play for sure, and I'll bet Kap will as well. Are the leagues up yet? If they are I'll put one together. Not yet, they will be sometime this month though.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) That show rocked. What about guts? I miss those days, now they have absolute garbage on Nick.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Alex Mack was and is hot (whatever her real name is). Larissa Oleynik wasn't it?

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) Again, it makes too much sense for it not to happen. Therefore it won't happen. Hope you'll be sending Carl Linder a Christmas Card this year.

QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) What kind of upside would you guys say Haigwood realistically has? IIRC he's been mentioned as a possilbe 3rd or 4th future starter in the rotation. Certainly doing his chances of that no harm at all right now.

2 years ago we had a really good SoxTalk Hockey League with myself, Tony, Mike and others involved. We'll probably get that one going again I'd imagine.

Erika Christensen. I've always found her to be pretty hot.

QUOTE(quickman @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) Ok we will see, we will pick up this conversation next year. What will happen to this board if he doesn't make the team next year? There will be people jumping out of there windows. I've got no problem with him not making the team if we've got 6 capable relievers in the pen next season doing their job well. It's when guys like Kevin Walker come up and suck it up, when people get frustrated. All in all, it's a good problem to have really. A few years ago when our pen was really struggling (with the likes of Rick White etc.) Baj probably would have been given an oppurtunity. But now with the way our relievers have pitched this year, it's been hard for anyone else to get a chance.
-
Congrats to Charlie, definitely been a real good year for him. Hopefully we see him continue to pitch well, now and in the future. My guess is he'll start next year at B-Ham as well, but we could very well see him at Charlotte at some point if he continues to pitch well.

QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) I love all those guys, especially Ray Liotta ... loved him in Goodfellas, they found Carbone in the meat truck all frozen up, could have been Felix Diaz instead. Now's a good time for NUKE and his Tee-Ball references for Felix isn't it.
-
QUOTE(quickman @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) thanks I apprecaite that, which one of those guys will play for us in the next 3 years? None. My falult on malone. Didn't he get a save the other day? Well who was the closer before that? Bobby Jenks, and he's up with the big club right now. Malone started earlier in the year, and then got moved into relief, due to the number of starters in B-Ham. You've got Haegar with his knucklers, Haigwood's been insane since he's moved up from high A ball, Heath Phillips has done well again, Kris Honel has had 4 out of his last 5 starts to be good ones IIRC. Reynoso's actually got some really good stuff, that's why he was moved onto the 40 man roster in the off-season. I doubt we'll see him up anytime soon in the future though unless he improves on his numbers.

QUOTE(quickman @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) Ok we will see if he is on the team or any team next year. I highly doubt it. I'd say Viz may not be back next season, and maybe not Marte. That leaves possibly 2 spots open, 1 possibly for a free agent, and 1 in house for a guy like Baj possibly. He's not a stuff guy, if he had better stuff he'd probably be on a major league team right now. But when you look what he's done over the past 3 years, the majority of the last 2 at a hitters paradise in Charlotte (with sub 2 ERA's), he's been unlucky to not get a chance. If he was in an organization like the Tampa Bay Devil Rays who are crying out for relievers, he definitely would have by now.
