  1. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 08:43 AM) Thing is we cannot pick and choose when players are good. If that was the case we could take away vizcaino's four worst outings and he would look solid. I never really understand the why people say "" you take away that game he gave up 11 runs he would have a really nice era''. Well guess what? He did give up those 11 runs and his era doesn't look so pretty. The thing is, that's only 1 bad month out of 3. What about Paul Konerko? He had 2 bad months, and yet people would say he still has pretty good numbers (since he's been hitting for power).
  2. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) Listening to Ed Farmer before the start of the game, he said he believed the astros would put Roy Oswalt on the market. They certainly need help in a lot of spots. Brian Anderson would have to look good for them He'd definitely look nice in a Sox uni. My bet is that he ends up in Arizona though, revolving around a deal for Conor Jackson.
  3. Preparing to be Flamed; Joe Crede April - .304/.368/.456 June - .275, 6 HR, 17 RBI in 25 games this month. Just sayin'.
  4. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 08:33 AM) CBS Sportsline rumor mill says The White Sox are spending a lot of time scouting Giants P Jason Schmidt, says the Chicago Tribune, but the Daily Southtown believes a more likely deal would see Chicago packaging Joe Crede to Oakland in a deal that could return Eric Chavez. How awesome would it be if we got both Schmidt&Chavez It's never going to happen. Can't see Oakland dealing Chavez with the way they've played lately.
  5. I'll put it this way. It's more likely Uribe is hear playing after his contract finishes than Omar Vizquel. That will count for something with the Sox Brass considering they'll have to sign a major FA to fill the position.
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 07:48 AM) Devi cruz started over 100 games at short for them last year. I meant when he's with us, and either he retires or he moves on to another organization.
  7. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 04:00 AM) Good thing we resigned him I could go back and look at someone's off-season plan, but ya know who it is.......
  8. Thank you Wite, and now merging.
  9. The problem still remains with Vizquel is that he's signed to a 3 year deal, and he'll be what 41 or 42 in the final year of that deal in 2007. He's probably not going to put up starter like numbers, like he's doing now. I think of Uribe as a diamond in the rough. There's a lot of work to be done with him, but he's shown he can produce with the bat before, and there's always that Miggy Tejada like potential. Another thing on Vizquel, who's going to replace him? The Sox are going to have to go outside the organization to do that, since there's no-one in the minor league system who projects to be a starting SS.
  10. Garcia has almost been our best pitcher since the Tampa game if it wasn't for Mark. To Freddy and the all conquering no double, no triple OFFENSE!!!
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 07:19 AM) C'mon guys.. just ignore the BS. ^^. Thank you Steff.
  12. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 07:16 AM) mayb u f***s need life? just go www.ebay.com and search L-I-F-E. ugly nerds suck a dick and die on it bastards lil f***ing bastard s*** bastards Goodbye.
  13. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:59 AM) The Tigers are kinda like the Sox of 01-04, hard luck losers. Their hitting stats look good, their ERA is decent, just can't win often enough. On paper the Tigers look to have a good hitting lineup. Yet they never draw a walk, and would almost be leading the league in strikeouts.
  14. Time for Freddy to go the rest of the way, and get some double digit K's.
  15. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:50 AM) Almost positive it was Texas that made the superior offer I heard it was the D-Backs, it'll be interesting to look it back up and see who was right.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:50 AM) Pauly/Dye/Thomas/Crede/Uribe/Arow really shorten their swings up on 2 strikes. Pods and Gooch I will give you. Someone please some stats of the Sox production with 2 strikes. Would you prefer weak grounders to home runs instead? I saw plenty of those last night at the Giants vs. D-Backs game.
  17. The offense has scored 5 runs, the most in this series and yet they're being criticized. Only on SoxTalk.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:45 AM) My problem with the offense is that they swing out their ass every single time they get up to the plate. Watching guys take full home runs cuts with men on and 2 strikes is frustrating. Yes when they connect is makes for a nice rainbow home runs. This team has to do the little things to be sucessful. They lost some power from last year. They have to do more than just be one dimensional. Scott Podsednik Tadahito Iguchi Aaron Rowand So they all try to hit for homers everytime they come up? GMAFB.
  19. And yet people have put him forward as a possible 5th starter trade option. He's given up 4 ER in his last 3 starts BTW. EDIT: THis was referring to Jabroni's post about Estes.
  20. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:42 AM) It's just scary that they sometimes have a knack for making mediocre pitchers look better than they are. They're not making Maroth look so good tonight.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:41 AM) Our pitching has been outstanding. Its the reason we are in the place we are. But we have to start to get more consistant hitting. Not just living and dieing on the homer. What would you prefer? Better pitching and not so good hitting, or better hitting and not so good pitching, because we all know where that got us.
  22. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:40 AM) That tells me that I will be scared when we are facing really good pitchers in the playoffs. So you're saying that we haven't faced many good pitchers this season so far?
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:36 AM) You guys are right our offense rocks. Its smoke and mirror thats we are 28th in the MLB in singles, 30th in doubles, 30th in triples. Crede is a superstar, Kong hits to all fields, etc etc. 52-24. Live with it.
  24. Question. How many homers at the Cell is Freddy going to give up today? He's already at 1. B-Mac had 5 yesterday.
