  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) Phew! Tough luck for Pudge tonight. It's a good thing he's a piece of s*** and it's hilarious to watch him get so close and come away with nothing. One more inning for McCarthy? Then, get Politte in there. Or Cotts. Either way the Sox are in a good position, and not many people would have given us hope of this.
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) Over 75 people have posted in ''the gigantic all encompassing trade thread''. Which would be more than having seperate trade threads, and people just trying to find them.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) Brandon looked good in that inning, throwing that change is starting to keep those hitters off balance much more. If that change is working, hitters can't sit on his fastball, and it's making a world of difference.
  4. QUOTE(brijames @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) I say McCarthy is pitching very, very well tonight. Funny that wasn't the case after that 2 run homer. My how time flies.
  5. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) I see what you were getting at now. Sorry, but I still say the same thing. Do you agree? Oh yes absolutely. Unfortunately the glass half full approach is used more than the glass half empty.
  6. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) What did I miss? Excuses for what? The Sox are a good team playing aggressive ball and the breaks go the way of those that play hard. I'm talking about why B-Mac didn't give up a run that inning.
  7. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) Excuses people, let's hear em.
  8. If B-Mac gets out of this inning without giving up a run, I will laugh hard.
  9. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) Despite the inning BMac just had, Cotts would be more effective blindfolded for the next 5. IMHO. Let's just put Pablo Ozuna on the mound instead. Would please someone I guess.
  10. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) Uh, I wasn't implying that Cotts would be effective for 5 innings or that he was prepared to do it. I would just rather see it than this. Well what's the point of him doing it then, if he's not going to be effective?
  11. Anyone remember how Cotts did in that one start last season?
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) Says who? Weren't a lot of people saying that all Diaz needed was more seasoning last year? 1 - Diaz is a marginal prospect. B-Mac is not. 2 - Diaz has about 5 to 6 years of minor league experience. B-Mac has about 2 to 2 and a half. 3 - Diaz should be a reliever. B-Mac will not be. And I think more people used the "Tee-Ball" reference with Diaz than the "seasoning" excuse.
  13. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) Ozuna helps this team more than McCarthy does... so yes. Brandon McCarthy pitching right now >>>>>>>>>>>>> Pablo Ozuna at third base.
  14. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:53 AM) Yeah, why isn't Alan Trammell pulling him out of the game?? So if 2ER equals a killing, does 3ER equal an explosion?
  15. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) I thought he gave up 8 runs the way everyone is reacting... :headshake I suppose Detroit fans are killing themselves because Jason Johnson gave up 2 runs too.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) I don't know why KW continues to make the same mistake he did last year in regards to putting a pitcher on the mound, who if he has a good game, will give up about 5 runs. It really does seem that Felix Diaz is spanish for Brandon McCarthy. Please don't compare Diaz to McCarthy. They're not even close, B-Mac just isn't ready yet.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) Hey it'd be 3-2, not 2-2.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:27 AM) He got his curveball over that inning, if he does that consistantly he'll throw a good game. And kept it on that outside corner which is quite important. Woohoo it's back on ESPN.
  19. Haha they put the Sox game on ESPN for a little while. B-Mac didn't look too bad there.
  20. Have a good one Keith!!! (Not promoting underage drinking here, even though I've had a few coronas, uhhh............. nevermind).
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 07:53 AM) I would love to have Putz. He is very good. No thank you on Mercker. What LOOGYs are out there? I know we aren't getting Wunsch back. Steve Kline? Here's a list of names that I put forward on a Lefties LOOGY's thread I made a month or 2 back; John Grabow - Pittsburgh Casey Fossum - Tampa Bay Joey Eischen - Washington (currently on 60 day DL) Kent Mercker - Cincinatti Jorge De La Rosa - Milwaulkee Ricardo Rincon - Oakland Aaron Fultz - Philadelphia Ron Villone - Seattle John Foster - Atlanta Trevor Miller - Tampa Bay Cerda - Kansas City
  22. Seattle could be a good trading partner. J.J Putz, Julio Mateo and Ron Villone some bullpen guys to look at who are having good seasons. Kent Mercker from the Reds as well, there's a few lefty relievers and LOOGY's out there who could help us.
