  1. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 11, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) He's giving up about a 1.5 HR per game in AAA. That's not going to get it done. And yet despite the fact our starting pitching has been great so far (have a look at every other single team in the majors), some people still want B-Mac up.
  2. Let's just hope we don't see them officiating one of our games again for a long, long time.
  3. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 11, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) Quick quiz.... Who leads the Sox in Blown Saves? Marte?
  4. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 11, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) Hey we could have Joe borchard come in and pop it up just as much, but he'll also tear the cover off the ball once and friggin while He's hitting like .182 down at Charlotte.
  5. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ May 11, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) The Sox never do well against young pitchers who they are seeing for the first time. I do not believe the Sox have seen Brazelton yet. Hopefully they score about 5 and our pitching keeps us in it. SB If only Brazelton pitched away from the Dome, he hasn't won a single game on the mound away in his major league career so far.
  6. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 11, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) KW did a great Job at making us be a 2nd place team for 4 staright years.. And I have said that so far the moves that Ozzie told KW to make are paying off...Well the past 2 games they haven't. And it's 2 games. Oh no, the sky is falling.
  7. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 11, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) Jermaine Dye is a swell guy. But count me out. However he is a double edged sword of terror. When he is not missing the cutoff throw allowing winning runs to advance into scoring position, dropping fly balls, or not bending over to pick them up he is using his bat to foul it up. He has a new uppercut swing. Dye the sox killer was able to hit the high fastball successfully because his swing was level. How we have a guy that when the game is on the line or we have ducks on the pond he will pretty much hit the ball either to the SS for the GIDP or pop out to the warning track. Yes he only has 4 errors(he is an OF right), but he also has numerous game changing bonehead plays that cost us at least one game in Oakland. We are into the middle of may guys. When do you suspect he is coming out of this cold streak. I mean everyone though Konerko was out of his after his big game on Saturday. But that seems to be an abberation. Short quick line drive swings is what will bring Dye and Konerko out of their collective slumps. But all I see if long looping swings looking for power. I am sure that Joe Borchard could do the same thing that Dye is doing, sans he has speed and has better defense. Count me in the bring Brian Anderson up and sit Dye for a bit. Give Anderson a taste of the bigs, maybe new blood can ignite the offense a bit and send a valuable message to Dye that no matter how much money you make you have to perform on the field. PROMOTE BA and McCarthy. And start the arbitration process early when they're not ready, and watch them make the big bucks in the future when they still don't hit their prime. Leave B-Mac down in Charlotte and Anderson too. Most people were debating whether to start Anderson in B-Ham, let alone Charlotte. He's only been in the system for a year and a half basically.
  8. Well it was him or Richard Hidalgo, and look how Mr. Hidalgo is doing.
  9. The closer by committee seems to be working ok. Maybe it's time to give Shingo some oppurtunities in the 7th or 8th instead. If Hermy is made the full - time closer, when he starts blowing saves, you guys will want a change to be made. Hermy's been pitching great, I'd leave him in the same role he's been in.
  10. Another post wanting Bobby Abreu. It's not going to happen. To trade Aubrey Huff, Tampa will want a package better than the Scott Kazmir deal. That's Brian Anderson and Brandon McCarthy. Carl Crawford? LMAO.
  11. So what about Neal Cotts' control, compared to Rob Bell.
  12. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 11, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) Bell threw an Ankiel there. DID YOU HEAR THE THUD!!!!
  13. That will be 6 straight scoreless relief appearances by Cotts if someone else comes in.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 11, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) LOL, I figured that's what you meant but I had to take the shot at you while I had my opportunity I know, you always do against the Aussie.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 11, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) Amazing how Neal throws so many more strikes when he doesn't have a week between outings. Neal's becoming one hell of a reliever I'll tell you that right now. Oh boy...........
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 11, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) Except for the fact he's a righty. I got my words confused. I meant he hits good off lefties. Don't you ever play MVP?
  17. Phelps is a good lefty hitter.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ May 11, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) I don't want Contreras to start the 6th inning. His control makes a 2 run lead seem very small. Neal Cotts or Cliff Politte?
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 11, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) If crede does not score this inning i break something. Lil qwerty.
  20. Haha the D-Rays 3rd baseman ran into Joey Cora.
  21. QUOTE(T R U @ May 11, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) Who brings a glove to the game now a days? Be a man, if you wanna make Sportcenters Top 10 you need to practice your one handed BARE handed catches What about a hat instead?
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) At least there's some good news now..... http://www.wcfcourier.com/articles/2005/04...08258710366.txt Those girls are still recovering, but all are out of a coma. Plus, we won our first tennis meet in two years. And no, not against the Iowa School for the Blind and the Deaf. Beat Marion 6-3. I pulled down wins in both singles and doubles so I'm happy. Heads winning Tennis is like LaTroy Hawkins recording a 1-2-3 inning. It just doesn't happen that often.
