  1. Baj is doing what he needs to do in case there's an opening.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) Freddy just made Buck look silly. Buck and Harvey have 4 K's b/w em now.
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) How much does Sweeney have left on his contract? And through what year? Do you know offhand? 2 or 3 years at about $11 mill off the top of my head.
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) 1 Misguided Prediction coming up. I stand vindicated.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) By the way, Pauly's going to homer this at bat. 1 Misguided Prediction coming up.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) Brice is on the WS DL. Ok cool, I knew he was on one of them. Kinds of shame for him really, considering he made their playoff roster last year.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:02 AM) I know, I'm not ready to start complaining about Podsednik as much as I have about Konerko's approach. I just would like to see more line drives by Podsednik, even if they're soft ones like the hit in the 8th last night. Right now can somebody compare the ratio of GB/FB Pods is hitting this season compared to last year, because that was his main problem for the Brewers.
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) But he's walking more. Which is good. Which is important because Pods and Konerko would have almost half of our total BB's together.
  9. What would we do without Ken Harvey so far tonight. 2 K's for him now.
  10. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) Sweeny = Sox F'ing Killer. It's almost time to walk him intentionally. Lucky I played him in my fantasy team today, although I didn't have much of a choice with Jim Thome going on the DL.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) Ahh, gotcha. By the way how has mlb.tv worked?? I'm definitely going to have to get when I'm off to college later this year. It's been good. Whenever I'm not downloading something, it's run pretty damn smoothly, although it's about 5 secs behind, but I can live with that. Plus I get to hear Hawk and DJ.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) I thought you got mlb.tv? Great play by Juan. I do but I can't really watch here. The IT staff here crack down on anything like that unfortunately.
  13. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) This sucks I do not get Comcast + I am stuck here down under, with no broadcast here whatsoever at Uni, watching a MLB.com gamecast that is about a minute behind. Wanna swap?
  14. And Dye and PK suddenly both have a .200 AVG. Nice to see at least 1 is showing signs of life.
  15. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Hey, hey, cut him some slack...he's still working the kinks out. As for Buck, he'll come around. He'll be a staple of a major league roster in two year's time. I'm not quite sure he's ready to be an everyday starter. Oh I agree, he's an excellent defensive catcher but just at this moment of his career he's not a good hitter. But he's the guy long - term for them, that's why they moved Justin Huber to 1st, as if they don't have enough players there already.
  16. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) DJ said "UH-OH" on a ball about 10 feet short of the track. UH-OH. Good to see at least Paulie came close.
  17. Poor John Buck. KC's offense is bad, granted, but you'd hate to be the easiest out in that lineup right now.
  18. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) Beltre has done squat with the Ms too Yes he has, but it's still definitely too early. He'll get better, but his BB/K ratio is awful right now so he'll need to improve that ASAP.
  19. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) Well LA didn't seem too concerned with defense as evident by non-tendering Alex Cora, and signing Jose Valentin to play third. Hee Seop Choi f***ing sucks. I wouldn't go that far. Choi has splits of .262/.351/.462, not great by all means but respectable for a NL 1st baseman, plus he's only making $351,500. Would you rather Mike Sweeney who'd only probably play in about 120 games a season for an extra $10 million? And you think they would want Cora back over Valentin now, especially the way Jose's been hitting? That a boneheaded move by DePodesta and everyone knew it. He never should have let Beltre leave in the 1st place.

    QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 5, 2005 -> 06:28 AM) Damn Mike......qwerty is coming for you though Congrats What's the over/under on him passing me next. I was hoping to hold him off throughout the season but I don't think that's going to happen now.

    gas prices

    I filled up last night $1.02 a litre which is really pretty cheap at the moment. Down here though, a lot of supermarket chains have bought into Petrol Companies, so say if you spend $30 or more at a Coles Supermarket down here, you rip the bottom of the docket off, fill up at a Shell, and you save 4c a litre.
  22. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) This HP umpire's called strike Could KC PLEASE trade Sweeney to either LA team already? Sweeney has said he would love to play for the Dodgers, but he's just too injury prone and not a good enough fielder for the NL for them to trade for him. Why would you anyway when you've got Choi as well.
  23. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) I think it's time to just pitch around Sweeney That was suggested on Rotoworld yesterday, and it probably makes sense.
  24. Looks like Sweeney got that high and tight fastball 1st up, but he doubles.
