  1. Not too good about Bull, but it could be worse. Let's hope he's back by the end of the month. And yes, it's good to see at least one out of Malone and Honel doing well. Corwin's still got a chance of making it, and performances like this won't doing any harm whatsoever. And Young and Owens keep doing their thing. Very nice OF B-Ham have right now with Sweeney joining them. When Brice eventually gets back of the DL, he might have to go back down to Winston - Salem 1st if there's an opening there instead.
  2. Maybe they're stuck in Morty's garage, and they can't open it. Morty "You just have to jiggle it!!!"
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ May 4, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Very entertaining game between the Kings and Sonics. Reminded me of an 80's type game. The Sonics are pretty damn underrated. They've got depth, shooters, and big guys who defend, rebound, and get physical. I think if there's one team that can take a healthy Spurs team it's the Sonics. Damn I was really thinking the Kings were really going to take this series with Miller and Jackson back. If I was Rick Adelman, I'd be a little worried about my job security right now.
  4. QUOTE(gettysburg32 @ May 4, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) John Kruk is fat and slow and stupid and ugly and might have been drunk, oh sorry, that's when he SUCKED ASS playing for the White Sox. WHO IN THE MOTHERf*** CARES ABOUT FATASS KRUK! :finger John Kruk.
  5. Watching an inning or 2 on the MLB.TV broadcast, in one of the inning breaks, I saw a very nice looking young Sox lady who was sitting by herself with a beanie, coat, probably a few layers underneath, and blowing cold air again and again and again. That enough told me how cold it was.
  6. The issue from the off-season that I generally picked up round here was this. We had Willie Harris, for about $400,000 you'd get a guy who would probably improve a little on his .265ish AVG and .340 OBP. Would Iguchi be enough of a difference at an extra $2 mill to improve on those stats? But I think one thing that was generally missed out of all of those was that Iguchi has turned into pretty much the perfect #2 hitter for us. Would Willie have been able to do that CONSISTENTLY (which was his main problem in the 1st place) behind Pods? I doubt it. Also know Iguchi would almost have to be hitting over 100 points more than Kazuo Matsui for $5,000,000 less. Shrewd signing KW, keep em coming.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 4, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) I take it he is going to be out for a while now? Probably, I don't know why you'd let him pitch if there was any doubt on him at all, but maybe it was just one of those cases where bad luck prevails. In any case, let's hope Bull is back and healthy soon.
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 4, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) The Bears draw fans in worse weather. Tex I'm not even going to go there. There is no way you can compare the NFL to the MLB whatsoever.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) You're absolutely right, the team can't win any games right now, if we don't get someone FAST this team is going to be 10 games out by next week. I gotta say, that made me laugh more than it should have.

30,000 posts. Wowzers. I don't think we're going to see that mark passed again for a few years yet. Congrats Mike.
  11. How long until Rocker can't use that line that he's still a millionaire? I give him until June.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ May 4, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) We got to get into the park a little after 5 yesterday and got to see Frank hitting... He was placing the ball all over the field with solid hits.. hitting several just short of the wall. Ran a bit as well. Looked good. Claims he feels no pain just a bit of stiffness. Positive news IMO. That is definitely some good news. I remember reading that report about a week ago in the Southtown where it looked like he wouldn't make it back by the All Star Break. I don't think that's going to happen now thankfully.
  13. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ May 4, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Well cub fans aren't the smartest group. They get drunk, see a team dressed in blue (Royals) and assume it's the cubs. By the time they realize their mistake (if they do at all) their already too drunk to leave. Case in point: I watched an Airline Show last night. Guy at Chicago Airport wearing a Cubs Uniform missed his flight because he left the cue to go get McDonalds. He claims he never heard the final boarding call. :banghead
  14. Here's to seeing more ads on MLB.Tv with Tony Pena and the little girl talkin about Royals Baseball being about winning and fun.
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 4, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) Some of the other high-schoolers have shown potential too... Sure like Shawn Livingston who's going to be one heck of a PG when he bulks up. But Dwight is a man child already, and will grow to over 7 feet. He's the next Tim Duncan with a little KG in him.
  16. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 4, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Might that be why his numbers improved too? That and Chris Jent wanted the offense to run through him so he could get 15 shots a game instead of 8, and most of his points came from put backs etc. Who cares, he's easily going to be the best player in the long run.
  17. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 4, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) By the way, in what place was the magic at the all-star break and where were they at the end of the season? Those post-all-star numbers don't seem to have helped much. But yeah, there's not much to argue. I just think the voting was right. Howard will probably be a star too anyways... You lose Grant Hill, Hedo Turkoglu, Doug Christie from your lineup, and Steve Francis for a few games and yes you will struggle. That's because the Magic aren't at all deep, unlike the Bulls.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 4, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) WTF is wrong with Buehrle???? He's pitching at the Cell. Not a good ball park for him at all.
  19. Somewhere the Poston Brothers are laughing.
  20. Watching the KC telecast and seeing Tony Pena talk to a little girl about how Royals Baseball is all about winning and having fun made me laugh. A lot.
  21. Jeff Weaver and Yhency Brazoban. OUCH.
  22. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ May 4, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) Since when does second place matter for ROY??? No sense in discussing who should have gotten second and third. But IMO Gordon is more valuable to his team than Howard is to the Magic.. I guess the argument there is how can Gordon be more valuable if he's not starting? And Sleepy, yes Howard was the 3rd option on his team, because well you expect that coming out of high school. But if you have a look at his post all - star stats, he would have been a worth ROY in my eyes. Frankly, he didn't pretty welll to just average double digits with Steve Francis on his team.
  23. Time for that Google Translator again.
