  1. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) Finally he does something. I picked him in every league that I drafted in. Already traded him away in one league. I hope he can turn things around not only for my fantasy team but for the Pirates as well. Was that you I traded with in League 1?
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Yes, he imed me all excited about it. Excuse me for being excited for once.
  3. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Jake Peavy is good. Yes he is. My favorite for NL Cy Young right now, although anyone pitching half their games at PETCO would be pretty damn good.
  4. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) MOTHERf***ER. I DONT CARE IF PODSEDNIK IS LEFT HANDED. THERE IS A REASON YOU TRADED FOR THAT f***ING GUY AND ITS NOT TO SIT HIM AGAINST LEFT HANDED PITCHERS. f*** YOU OZZIE. Someone sure had their Wheaties fix today.
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) That is what I am thinking. I don't think they want to put Brandon on the 40 man until it is necesary, and with the extra off day, it buys them 5 extra days. Sigh.... doesn't anyone read the Minor League Board anymore.
  6. Any updated news on Bull's condition?
  7. QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) Haha, I am friends with Daniel Gilbert's neice. What's a neice?
  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) Don't forget ozuna for jabroni and vinny castilla for sox-r-us. Adopted, illegitimate or second cousin. I'll let you decide.
  9. Joe Crede = Jabroni's Boy Neal Cotts = Sox-r-us's Boy
  10. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) Judging from those numbers, bowen isn't much better than kobe, although I have no idea what they mean. Could you show the numbers for the rest of the players listed? Might as well throw in Kidd and LeBron. And I hope you meant Plastic Man Augmon from 10 years ago. Peterson has lackluster D, along with anyone in a Raps uni...I also mentioned Christie, when healthy...and Kirilenko plays the post... This on Peterson from the FA period of last season; I'm not going to show all of those PER's because that would take ages, but here is the general idea of it from 82games.com (there are both offensive and defensive PER's); e.g http://www.82games.com/04LAL6C.HTM the PER is a complicated single number rating developed by John Hollinger and used extensively in his excellent Pro Basketball Prospectus books. The league average PER is set to 15, but for this view the comparison between a player's production and the opponent production at the position is the focus. At a glance you can tell whether there has been a net positive or negative overall contribution while playing that position.
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) Chances are if we had a higher obp we would score more runs. No chance way in hell our pitching holds up like this all year. We can't rely on winning all of these one run 2-1, 4-3 games. Don't know about you but i am already sick of uribe, pierz, rowand, and dye first pitch swinging. The more pitches a batter sees will help them in the long run. Konerko and Pods both alone have just over a 1/3rd of our total team walks as well. This is going to be an issue in the future. We may be winning now, but as qwerty said, the starting pitching isn't going to be great all season long.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) Kobe should be more motivated than anyone in the league. He thought he could win without shaq and he was mistaken. He didn't feel losing shaq would be that big of loss and oh was he wrong. Kobe bryant is a moron and i only hope for the worst for him and the lakers. Kobe the GM wants the Lakers to draft a PG now. Bet Chucky Atkins loved that.
  13. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) You said LeBron wouldn't even figure into a top 15 list of perimeter defenders. Name them. And don't forget to include Posey and Bell... Posey Bell Igoudula Christie Bowen Prince Hassell McKie Kirilenko Artest Augmon Peterson Ginobili Pietrus Battier And some more stats here on a Bowen vs. T-Mac vs. Kone comparison on defense; Bowen - PER on defense as a SF = 14.7 Bryant - PER on defense as a SG = 15.1 McGrady - PER on defense as a SF = 13.6 The thing is PER is a stat that not only indicates how good you are on defense compared to your offensive stats and how your opponent does on offense and defense. So even though Bryant has a higher PER, opponents would score way more on him, because Kobe scores a lot more than Bowen, and he only has a PER .4 higher than Bowen, who is much weaker offensively.
  14. Would anyone suggest T-Mac has been a better defender than Kobe this season because of the MOTIVATION factor?
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) The only bad part is that we drew Harden, who is dominating right now... In one piece a scout thinks he's the AL Cy Young right now, and Beane was smart to lock him up for a good period of time. I extremely doubt we'll keep the streak going, but it's very possible we could win 2 out of 3, and that's what they should be looking to do.
  16. More thoughts from the man;
  17. That's not good at all about Bull, especially now since he's probably so close to getting the call up to Charlotte. Sounded like he was rolling too in today's outing, let's hope it's nothing too serious.
  18. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 05:26 AM) Didn't the Sox have to protect Honel though? If they kept him off someone would have taken the risk in the Rule V. Or at least that might have been the case. Yeah I'm pretty sure that was the case.
  19. And just think after his 2003 year, people were considering him for our 5th starters role.
  20. Have a look at their 1st 5 picks; 11 - Demarcus Ware - DE Troy 20 - Marcus Spears - DE LSU 42 - Kevin Burnett - LB Tennessee 109 - Marion Barber the 3rd - RB Minnesota 132 - Chris Canty - DE Virginia Bartber was rated the 4th best running back by the Sporting News War Room, and Canty is a 1st round pick if he didn't get injured in his senior year. Perfect 3-4 DE with Spears if he can stay healthy.
  21. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) So Wite, I've been waiting to ask you this question for a year now. Julius Jones, Sean Ryan and Marcus Spears (you could include Drew Henson for a 3rd) OR J.P Losman C'mon Wite at least answer my question now.
  22. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) I haven't watched those guys when they've been talking about the Sox. Have they jumped on the bandwagon then? Please for the love of god I hope not.
