  1. Who's Dabaho? Don't you usually call me Dabby?
  2. Ken Rosenthal's Inside Dish from The Sporting News.
  3. Most likely from Seattle if they miss out on Delgado. Los Angeles will make a run at him too, if the D-Backs decide not to resign him. I think they have to though considering all the players they traded for him.
  4. Lowe will be in Detroit or Philly next season probably.
  5. Polanco had an .860 OBP after the All Star Break as well FWIW according to Ken Rosenthal. That can't be right can it?
  6. No it's not that, it's just hard for ppl to be expected to read all of that at once.
  7. Jason Grilli was 2-3. Felix Diaz was 2-5. Jon Rauch was 1-1. Neal Cotts was 0-1 in his only 5th starter appearance I think. Shoe was 6-9 (became 5th starter after we acquired Garcia) Dan Wright was 0-4. Arnie Munoz was 0-1. Josh Stewart was 0-1.
  8. Eldred doesn't have the arm to be a starter no more. He only pitched 67 innings in 52 appearances this season. IF Eldred was a starter for us, he wouldn't make it through a full season anyways, LaRussa and Duncan know that, that's why they made him a reliever. The Sox ended up finishing 9 games behind the Twinkies. Eldred wouldn't have been enough for us to make up that gap.
  9. Guys just lay off, otherwise I'll have to close the thread soon.
  10. So you're saying you'd rather have Eldred pitching as the 5th starter, while Felix Diaz and Jason Grilli would still be down at Charlotte. Those 2 still have a future with the Sox, Eldred would not. It's not like Eldred would have been the difference between us making the playoffs or anything.
  11. 2B and SS will be fine with Uribe and Vizquel, if that's the path the Sox decide to take. Unless we sign Beltran which ain't gonna happen, Rowand will stick at CF. KW has said he will look for a catcher possibly, but the only 2 top guys on the market are Jason Varitek (who's a lock to resign in Boston) and Paul LoDuca from the Marlins. LoDuca could be had for 3 years $21 million apparently.
  12. Eldred was done when we released him I think, I'm still shocked he's pitching in the playoffs for the Cards myself. And no he wouldn't have been a good 5th starter, he would have been a stopgap solution, that probably would have been hammered at the Cell.
  13. Get some caffeine of something strong stat there Tex.
  14. Wasted 5 to 10 minutes of your life too huh Tex.
  15. Does Juan Pierre even have a good arm anyways.
  16. It's not a matter of getting better in those positions. We'll get much better in the pitching department this offseason, which is what this team needs the most. There are enough good starters in the FA market, that we should definitely be able to sign someone good.
  17. Juan Uribe went .275 with 20 HR's and 75 RBI's I believe. I would hardly call SS a weak position, if Uribe is going to play their everyday next season. But if we sign Vizquel, we move Uribe to 2nd, and have a very nice infield, that most teams would like.
  18. We've scored enough home runs in the past few seasons, and that hasn't gotten us anywhere. Cabrera is basically a Vizquel clone, who will probably resign in Boston, while Glaus and Lowell would just add more power numbers, when our real need is for another top starter and closer.
  19. Just wait til the season gets going, and the likes of Illinois and Indiana get to face up to each other. If only I had ESPN.
  20. First of all it's Po-lanco. Second, how are we going to trade for a Jeter or A-Rod. Vizquel is one of the best SS's on the FA market this off-season, and probably fits our needs the most. And the Twinkies don't hav these type of big names either, and they've done just fine in this division over the past few seasons.
  21. Oh boy Cheat's gonna love this. Timo Perez Williams on Perez: "A lot of people don't know that he played most of the season hurt. He has a little foot issue that limited his speed. He never complained, took his role, was a positive influence on the club, especially with Juan Uribe in particular, and Timo had some big hits." Fearless Forecast: The Sox will try to avoid arbitration and get a deal done with Perez, making him a key reserve again.
  22. There's already a topic on this, but I'll just merge the 2.
