Konerko's value will never be higher, especially considering he has 1 year left on his deal. If a Sexson or J.D Drew type of deal comes along, KW's gotta make that deal.

A player I'd love to acquire is Brad Wilkerson. The Expos need some name players in Washington, Lee or Konerko would look good in their lineup. A deal could be done there perhaps? Wilkerson is hitting .254 with 31 HR's and 64 RBI's FWIW. Brian Schenider could be a guy to go after at catcher as well.

Drew wouldn't sign for us anyways considering he is a Boras client so you can probably forget that thought. It'll be interesting to see how he performs next season, when he's got a big fat contract in his hands from some team. I think we have to look elsewhere for a LH power OF.

Aaron Rowand would probably be one of the best value for money center fielder's in the league. You wouldn't get a player who's making as much money as he is, putting up the kind of numbers he has this season. You could definitely make a case for Vernon Wells, but he's making $870,000 compared to $350,000 which is what A-Row is making I think. Rocco Baldelli is another, but his numbers are slightly down from A-Row's at .281, 15HR's and 71 RBI's. Lew Ford is another, but he's probably more of a left fielder.

And probably the best one we have. Trading Rowand, would be really, really stupid, unless a readymade replacement like Juan Pierre was coming the other way.
