  1. Contreras has only been with the Sox about 2 months though. I don't think it's fair to judge his performances as a whole on that. You look at a case like Esteban Loaiza, nobody knows what numbers Contreras and Garland could put up next season.
  2. He was dealt from Cleveland exactly because of this type of behaviour. Also here are Frankly Gutierrez's stats in AA from July, the prospect who Bradley was dealt for. .302 AVG, 35 RBI's in 70 games.
  3. Look at his last start and his first few. Besides the middle starts where he'd probably have an ERA over 10, Contreras hasn't pitched that bad. I'm confident Coop and Ozzie can settle him down, work on his control issues, and harness his good stuff. Whatever you say about his ERA, you have to be impressed with the amount of K's he puts up.
  4. Sweeney's stats next season will probably determine whether or not he'll be dealt, it's quite a big season for him, I'm confident he'll put up the goods though.
  5. Don't know what Reese's contract is for next season, but I don't know if they can resign Cabrera or not. Varitek will be a priority and so will another starter if they don't resign Lowe and Pedro. I don't think there's any doubt the Cubs will be making a run at Cabrera.
  6. I think Contreras has showed enough to be at least the 4th starter next season. Hopefully Coop and Ozzie can get into his head in the offseason the need to throw strikes and that fastball of his instead of the splitter so early in the count.
  7. They'll hav Mientkiewicz at 1b. Even if they lose Cabrera to the Cubs, a DP combo of Bellhorn and Reese isn't that bad.
  8. He's arbitration eligible instead.
  9. I think they'll probably lose Pedro to the Giants or even the Yankees. They'll try to resign Lowe, and keep a strong defense behind him. Out of all the free agents on that team, I still think Varitek is the one they'll resign the most. It's certainly going to be a busy off-season for Theo Epstein.
  10. Let's hope so, although a Dodgers vs Giants series with the division on the line would be very entertaining to watch.
  11. Varitek is almost a lock to resign in Boston, he's the heart and soul of that team. I've heard he could get $32 million over 4 years as well I think. Lo Duca is probably the next best catcher on the market.
  12. It's actually Jason and Minny. It's only fair in this time of democratic elections, that we don't have another Florida case on our hands, and that Minny is indeed the Queen.
  13. There's definitely 3 teams on the market for Delgado this offseason. LA - Have a hole to fill at first, don't know if they could sign him payroll wise, depends how much of a payroll McCourt gives Depodesta. Of course they have to possible resing Beltre as well. Baltimore - With Palmeiro not coming back, Delgado would be the perfect DH / 1B. But they could target pitching instead. Seattle - I think he'll wind up here actually. The Mariners need to make a big splash in FA to convince the fans they can be competitive. I look for one of Sexson, Glaus or Delgado to definitely wind up with the Mariners.
  14. He is, I've heard 3 years $21 million will be enough to sign him. With the payroll issues the Marlins are going to hav with Benitez, Pavano and Lowell, Lo Duca wouldn't be a bad get at all. He could hit in the #2 hole, or lower down in the order in the #6 or #7 spot.
  15. For starters I don't think the Twinkies will deal with us. Plus what's the point in acquiring another outfielder, when we already have Lee, Everett and Rowand coming back for 2005. Unless one of those are moved, we should target pitching and infield help no doubt.
  16. You wish she was 2. Why were you even DQ'ed, the ppl hav rightly voted you as Queen.
  17. I still don't think Duquette had the final say in that deal, sumthin tells me Fred Wilpon made him do that to try and keep them in the Wild Card Race, which shows you how bad of an owner he is.
  18. Need to be registered to read the article, but if Minaya is going to the Mets, that would be their 3rd GM change in 2 years.
  19. I don't think there's any doubt Freddy wasn't going to hav the same type of success as a flyball pitcher at the Cell.
  20. With Schmidt on the mound, I just hope they can close it out without Hermanson.
  21. Yes I think we can. All round this team needs better pitching, with Frank and a fit Carl Everett in the lineup next season we still shouldn't have any problems scoring runs. Of course if we need to cut payroll we can always trade Lee or Konerko.
  22. The day before he was injured I think, I got offered Me-Shawn for him.
