Ross Gload O-Meter
Anyone who has read the Cheat's latest blog entry on Konerko, can see why it's a perfect time to move him, while his value is sky high. His home splits are way higher than his away splits. If we can get a real good package deal like Milwaulkee got for Sexson and the Cardinals got for Drew, we should absolutely look into making that trade, while we have an able replacement in Gload.

How many starters that are "winners" can you say we have then?

Clement definitely interests me. I'd be very happy if the Sox sign him or Odalis Perez this offseason. His recent struggles will probably push down his asking price a little, which can only help, and we need more groundball pitchers at the Cell. Catchers wise, there's Varitek and LoDuca, who seem to be the 2 best on the market. I'd love Mike Matheny, but I doubt he'll leave St. Louis, and I don't think Miller would leave the Cubbies either, unless some other team really offered him more money. Don't know if Brian Schneider is a FA or not, but he's a guy worth looking at as well.

When do you get excited about a prospect?
I think the way B-Mac has pitched this season from low A, to high A and now in double AA for B-Ham, it's pretty hard NOT to get excited about him. But generally it depends on the prospect, and how old they are. Someone like Felix Hernandez who's 18, and in double AA for the Seattle Mariners, is probably the best pitching prospect in the game.

Shingo for Rookie of the Year
It should go to Crosby, I think Shingo would even admit that.
-
Next Year............
1 - Renteria is too expensive. He'll resign with the Cards most likely. 2 - Beltran will sign with the Yanks, or resign with the Astros. 3 - Looks like Florida will do everything they can to resign Pavano, or he'll be headed to the Yanks or Red Sox. 4 - Ozzie won't be given an extension. He has a 2 year deal with a team option for a 3rd. 5 - Mota isn't a free agent. Benitez is.

Fox Sports World

MJ saids No comeback
Shaq pretty much made the decision for him when he said he didn't want Air Jordan on the team.

CREDE
I think Paul LoDuca would look nice on the Southside, although I don't think he'd want to sign with a AL team. A Marlins columnist thinks he could be had for $21 million over 3 years, or $6.5 million a season. A lot of ppl would like to us to target Jason Varitek as well.

Carlos to be traded?
The only way we will sign Beltran is if he dumps Scott Boras as his agent which could still happen. Getting a Richie Sexson or J.D Drew type of deal for Carlos would be perfect, to fill multiple needs. Don't forget Boras thinks the Yanks will fork out $120 mill over 8 years for Beltran as well.

A stat I'd Like to know
We had the most HR's at home this season, with the Cubs 2nd, the Yankees 3rd, the Rangers 4th and Rockies 5th. Saw that on the Royals telecast today.

CREDE
The for's and against for keeping Joe Crede: FOR: Has excellent power potential for a third baseman. Could become a gold glover one day. Still young and could develop like Adrian Beltre did this season. AGAINST: Is stubborn and not willing to listen to Greg Walker to correct his swing. He's been here almost 3 seasons, and we're still waiting for him to emerge. Could be very good trade bait. Has an average of below .250, which isn't acceptable for an everyday player, especially at a hitting park like the Cell.
