Burke can also play right field if we need him to, that's probably saving him right now.
-
Gotta say that's suprising especially up against a WOEFUL Seattle team. Well done to all of you Sox fans who got to the game tonight.

Watch for the ads with Bill Cowher and Archie Manning. Fight Night, McMichael vs McMichael

Can't see it happening for these two reasons, 1) AL West - Oakland have been hampered by injury. They just got Eric Chavez back, and Barry Zito hasn't pitched well at all. You know Billy Beane will pick up someone good at the deadline. Anaheim have been even worse with their injuries, and if Fartolo Colon can become Bartolo again, this team WILL get hot. And no, Texas doesn't have much of a chance, unless Tom Hicks decides to allow their GM to get a quality arm. Good hitting can only carry you for so long. 2) AL East - Yanks have got this division. Red Sox will come back strong though, if Derek Lowe can get out of his funk, they've got some good deep pitching again. And imagine if they got Roger Clemens.
-
That doomed Marvin Benard's career with the Sox as well.

First of all even if we had kept Reed instead of Borch, I'm not so sure Reed would have been called up to replace Frank on the DL. We might have brought up another pitcher instead, because 1) Reed wasn't setting the world on fire at Charlotte 2) Still fears of a wrist injury hampering him as shown by his hitting in May, early June. Borch deserved to be called up by his play, he's been showing some fairly good form at the plate, although if you take away a hot May, he's only been hitting .240. It's definitely a risk, and we shouldn't expect Borch to set the world on fire, if he can hit around the .250 mark with a few RBI's and not many K's, I'll be very happy with Joe.

Superman's not exactly so innocent either.
-
Garland's last start was against the struggling Seattle Mariners who can't swing a bat. Freddy's two starts so far have been against good offences in Minny and Anaheim, let's see how Freddy does against Seattle this weekend before we make a better judgement on him.
-
Betta than some other team's fans around here that's for sure.
-
He's untouchable, I believe he's making $750,000 or $1,000,000 this year and we hav an option on him for next season at $2.5 million. You don't mind if we take Everyday Eddie off your hands either.
-
He's been pitching very well lately in relief, was a little rocky early but he's settled down nicely. Let's hope he can continue this for the rest of the season.
-
I believe he was traded along with Jung Bong for Chris Reitsma earlier this year. I think he really struggled at AAA, and was demoted back to AA.
-
I bet it wouldn't even come close to 1% of American hits though.
-
Not Scott Bikowski. I can't see Spidale going up there, because they already hav a leadoff hitter in Torres.
-
Malaysia would be on the list because I logged in there when I was over there in Feburary.

Apologies if already posted, but I found this today on BA, What should White Sox fans think of Joe Borchard at this point? He's putting up decent numbers in his third stint at Triple-A Charlotte, but with Magglio Ordonez out for an extended period of time, the Sox didn't give Borchard the call. The White Sox obviously believe in Borchard, as they opted to include Jeremy Reed rather than Borchard in the Freddy Garcia trade. Will Borchard ever get his shot playing full-time in the outfield for Chicago or is he the truly the $5.3 million dollar bust that many Sox fans are now labeling him as? Alex Bozich Louisville Again, don't read too much into who's included or not included in a trade. Another way to look at the Garcia deal is that perhaps the Mariners wouldn't have accepted Borchard in lieu of Reed. After initial hopes that Borchard might be their center fielder of the future, the White Sox have played him in right field this year, and Seattle obviously has Ichiro to man that position. Borchard may get a shot at the right-field job in Chicago next year if Ordonez departs as a free agent. Their center-field situation is still muddled, so maybe they'll even give him another try there. Borchard has shown some improvement with the bat this year, hitting .267/.329/.500 with 16 homers and 48 RBIs in 78 games in his third stint in Triple-A Charlotte. That's a positive sign after he batted .253/.307/.398 there in 2003, but it's not any better than he performed in Triple-A in 2002. He still swings and misses a lot, and he has hit just .240 since batting .349 in May. Borchard is a tough prospect to figure out. He went backward so much last year that it was easy to write him off as a bust, but that would be premature. He's 25 now and won't establish himself as a big leaguer until 2005 at the earliest, so he probably won't be the star the White Sox envisioned when they handed him a record signing bonus in 2000. However, he still can have a decent major league career if he can make some semblance of consistent contact, and his power is undeniable.

Maybe they wanted to talk about their socks? :headshake
