  1. Internet seems to be workin fine for me Cheat. Mayb u got a problem with ur internet connection or computer?
  2. I expect a trade out of Houston soon now though. I think Hildalgo, or one of their lower tier starters like Robertson could be gone.
  3. I think cos Moss had a good season back in Atlanta, I think he'll go back there actually. Plus he's still pretty young for a lefty and I think Coop could get his control problems straightened out.
  4. If he's healthy. He's always been a good pitcher, hopefully he can put up sum good numbers for a whole season.
  5. Maggs is definitely leavin at the end of 2004 if we kepp him, othawise he woulda signed a new long term deal. Hopefully LA who hav been tragetin Adam Dunn or another team gets desperate and make a trade for Maggs.
  6. I should prob start braggin bout bein ahead of u then Heather. Pats 17 - Colts 10 Eagles 31 - Panthers 24
  7. I'd say sumthin nice PA, but u consida me to be a pissant.
  8. Me thinks da first move he'll make is to bring in a new QB. I don't think Jay "I'm always injured" Fiedler or Brian "Please Sack Me" Griese will do it for him.
  9. Maurice Carthon, because he deserves a chance. I think Oakland will hire him or Sean Payton though.
  10. Personally I was thinkin it was a Posterior Cruciate Ligamint.

  12. I'm still holdin out for Moss, and I doubt he'll be goin back to Baltimore if they sign Ponson and Maddux.
  13. It bugs me that Orlando isn't givin him playin time at the moment. They ain't gonna make da playoffs, they mite as well trade Howard, and giv Pachulia, Gaines and Gooden more playin time. I really like the look of Keith Bogans though.
  14. Looks like it's gonna be Lovie Smith or Jim Fassel I think, Nobody can say the Bears haven't given their coaching search the old college try. California coach Jeff Tedford became the second college candidate in the same day to decline the Bears, two league sources said Sunday. Tedford informed the Bears on Saturday within hours of LSU coach Nick Saban rejecting general manager Jerry Angelo in Baton Rouge, La. The Bears reacted to Saban's decision by calling Tedford and arranging for him to fly to Halas Hall that night with the understanding that the head-coaching job was his if he wanted it, sources said. The second-year Cal coach had interviewed discreetly with Angelo last week when Angelo set up temporary headquarters in San Francisco, site of practice for the East-West Shrine Game. The meeting was said to have gone well, Tedford impressing Angelo with his charisma and knack for developing young quarterbacks such as Rex Grossman. Tedford, 42, earned a reputation over the last decade for having one of college football's most innovative minds. He had stints as offensive coordinator at Fresno State and Oregon before beginning the turnaround at Cal in 2002. He inherited a 1-10 team and has gone 15-11 in two seasons, including a victory over Virginia Tech in this season's Insight Bowl. Known as a quarterback specialist, Tedford has mentored first-round picks such as Trent Dilfer, David Carr, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington and Kyle Boller. But Tedford bypassed the chance to groom Grossman and coach the Bears, sources said, because he considers the college environment more comfortable and conducive to his lifestyle. California renegotiated Tedford's contract before last season to pay him a $1 million annual salary for the next five years, and it includes a buyout that would cost NFL teams $1 million. That was not said to be a factor in his decision as much as Tedford's desire to fulfill his responsibilities to players he recruited and let his two teenage sons finish high school in California. That shifts the Bears' focus to Steelers offensive line coach Russ Grimm and Rams defensive coordinator Lovie Smith as the coaching search begins its third week Monday. Grimm, a league source said, made plans to meet Angelo in the Chicago area and had risen near the top of the list, given the developments with Tedford and Saban. He never has worked as a coordinator at any level. But with 13 years' NFL coaching experience after an 11-year All-Pro career with the Redskins in which he won three Super Bowls, Grimm has such a good reputation that new Washington coach Joe Gibbs expressed interest in him as offensive coordinator within hours of taking the job. "I think it's nonsense that people think he can't be a head coach because he's never been a coordinator," said former Bears tackle Jim Covert, who was Grimm's roommate for road games at the University of Pittsburgh. "He has great credentials and would be just what the Bears need." Smith also may get to make his case in a second interview with Angelo, a league source said Sunday. Despite the Rams' defense giving up 29 points and the decisive play in Saturday's double-overtime loss to the Panthers, the Bears are said to consider Smith a viable option who two weeks ago was one of the hottest coaching candidates on the market. Former Giants coach Jim Fassel, on the other hand, isn't a hot candidate—at least not in Chicago. While Fassel remained hopeful late last week of getting back in the derby if Saban said no, the Bears figure to look elsewhere. A league source who said he had talked to Angelo said the Bears GM developed concerns researching Fassel and doubted his personality would be a good fit for the McCaskey family. That reduces the field of remaining known candidates to Grimm, Smith, Patriots defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Nolan, who's still on hold, and Bears defensive coordinator Greg Blache, who's still a long shot. The Bears also expressed interest in Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen, who was said to have dismissed their inquiries. The search process quietly continued during the heavily publicized pursuit of Saban, who cited family and his affection for LSU on Saturday as reasons for staying. The Bears made a competitive offer of a five-year contract worth $3.5 million annually, LSU sources said, but it wasn't enough for Saban to bolt the Bayou. But one league source and a source close to Saban agree that money didn't have as much to do with Saban's hesitance as his desire to have control over the Bears' 53-man roster and Angelo's reluctance to relinquish it. The two also reportedly haggled over the hiring of assistant coaches, a point Angelo was said to concede, before Saban finally decided it was good to be king in college-football-crazed Louisiana. That sent Angelo home to execute his backup plan, which seems to be changing by the day.

  21. Sum Houston starters could be on the market soon, any1 want Redding or Robertson? If the Astros sign RHP Roger Clemens, their next move could be to trade either RHP Tim Redding or LHP Jeriome Robertson for a setup man. Redding could fill that role, but he might view it as a demotion after starting 32 games in 2003. Giving up Robertson may not be as painful as it first would appear. Yes, he won 15 games as a rookie last season, but his run support would have ranked as the second-highest in the N.L. if he hadn't fallen 1 1/3 innings short of the qualifying total. Robertson also allowed a whopping 250 baserunners in 160 2/3 innings and finished with a 5.10 ERA. The Mariners gained offense but lost speed and defense by replacing CF Mike Cameron, 3B Jeff Cirillo and SS Carlos Guillen with LF Raul Ibanez, 3B Scott Spiezio and SS Rich Aurilia. The loss of Cirillo, who hit .249 and .205 in his two years in Seattle, is a big plus, but Guillen, 28, is four years younger than Aurilia, and Guillen's on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) has improved from .689 to .719 to .753 the past two seasons while Aurilia's has gone from .941 to .718 to .735. Free-agent RHP Jeff Nelson could be the next addition to the Marlins' bullpen, joining the pitcher he was traded for last season, closer RHP Armando Benitez. Nelson has made 714 career appearances, none in the National League. The Twins are interested in closer RHP Ugueth Urbina, but only if his price drops and/or they clear money by trading OF Jacque Jones. They also are considering low-budget starting RHPs Pedro Astacio, Scott Erickson and John Burkett. If the Royals' bullpen is the best in the A.L. Central, the Indians' isn't far behind. RHPs Bob Wickman, David Riske, Jose Jimenez and Bob Howry and LHP Scott Stewart all have closing experience. Wickman, coming off elbow surgery, is the only one older than 30. Indians G.M. Mark Shapiro says he probably called Expos G.M. Omar Minaya 20 times about trading for Stewart before finally landing him. Reds G.M. Dan O'Brien on the Dodgers' pursuit of OF Adam Dunn: "A number of clubs have talked to us about a number of our players. Every club is aware of the fact that we're looking for starting pitching. If we can't satisfy that particular need, the likelihood of a trade isn't very good." Translation: The Reds were not satisfied with the Dodgers' offer of Class AAA RHP Joel Hanrahan. Sandy Alderson, executive V.P. of baseball operations, faces an uncertain future in the commissioner's office, prompting speculation that Bud Selig might steer him to the Dodgers to become team president under prospective owner Frank McCourt. Alderson then would hire his former Oakland protege, A's G.M. Billy Beane, to replace Dan Evans. Corey Busch, head of McCourt's transition team, also looms as a candidate for team president. The market for C Ivan Rodriguez remains unclear, with the Tigers one of the few teams expressing definite interest. The Orioles will create friction if they sign Rodriguez, which would all but force newly acquired C Javy Lopez to be the primary DH because he isn't as good a catcher as Rodriguez. First base no longer is an option for Lopez because Rafael Palmeiro was signed; Lopez never has played that position anyway. The Cubs would rather sign RHP Greg Maddux than Rodriguez if they can get a bargain. The Dodgers, paralyzed by their uncertain ownership situation, would prefer a pure No. 4 hitter.
