QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:23 PM) I don't know about that. Veeck might make it happen up in heaven for us. Your account is like a bit, right? You don't actually believe what you're saying?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:20 PM) This is just asking the baseball gods to hit the ball hard right at somebody. Only possible way to get out of the inning. We're not getting any more outs without help from the baseball gods. Get one more and win it in the ninth. If it goes extras i'm turning it off. I know what will happen. There is no baseball god, so good luck with that.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:18 PM) I believe the fanbase is to the point with this team that we'd be disappointed if there wasn't a sell-off of several players And let's not kid ourselves. We're the fanbase. Outside of these games, we're the only ones watching. Bad is bad. The average fan wants winners, and we're losers every year and we retry every year.

QUOTE (Green Line @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) Is that going to make Matt Albers a good pitcher? Bring back Abreau's power? Etc.? Robin is awful and needs to go but this bullpen as constructed blows. So many holes to fill every offseason. Every year you miss one when you don't have a bountiful farm system.

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:22 PM) If we can hang in there against better teams no reason to blow everything up IMO. Obviously, move Sale for the right deal if we can get guys who can contribute in the next year but no reason to trade him just to blow it up. So, yeah. I'm still going with "blow it up"

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) To come out against Arrieta and play like this I'm a little surprised. Maybe this team isn't dead in the water yet after all. To come back at this point is to rely too heavily on the poor fortunes of others. Beating or losing to the Cubs has never caused me to change my opinion on the White Sox in the past, it won't change my opinion now.

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:12 PM) Well we could be only 8 GB after this game if they could go on a hot streak in August we still have 10 games left with CLE. A long shot but not out of the question yet. Yeah, no. 8 GB isn't close

QUOTE (Green Line @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) Nothing I love more than beating the Cubs. If we're not going to the playoffs, sweeping this series will be the next best thing, Dude. It's the 6th. If we're going to blow it, the time isn't right.

QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) Arrieta looks very average tonight. Not the same pitcher from the second half of last year. If he isn't dominant, Cubs are in BIG trouble this postseason. Teams seem to have success taking pitches with him. He throws some beautiful junk.

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:04 PM) Boy the defense has really fallen off since the beginning of the season. So typical a guy like Frazier regresses on the White Sox. Obnoxious.

White Sox players protested in Seattle
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 01:31 PM) That is a pretty loose leap. It is like tipping in a restaurant. All you actually owe is what is on your bill. Sure, from the sounds of it this is what is always done, but at the same time if they said 60% goes back to management, would you think twice about it? That is all this is. Good point. In restaurants, this is protected by law. If the MLB would recognize that clubbies operate on tips, they would theoretically be protected.

Rodon to get rehab start
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 02:36 PM) Cub fans and insecure Sox fans are the big ones. Some guy at a stop light in Austin flagged my attention to show me his Cubs tattoo. We spray for out of town Cubs fans, but they keep coming back.

Rodon to get rehab start
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 11:11 PM) Starting pitching is in "great" shape for the Cubs series isn't it? Mark It's been a while since I've been in Chicago, but do most fans really care about this series? I was called out multiple times yesterday for my White Sox hat, but most of the Cubs fans I know here just don't seem to care much.

I'm torn. The good news is, I don't think there's any amount of games we can win which would cause Hahn to change how he feels about this team. I still am a little worried that winning this series will hurt our rebuild chances.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 11:49 AM) Yankees just raked the Cubs over the coals with the return they are getting. I don't care if you do have excess prospects. You still have to be careful when dealing. When your major league lineup is that solid, you move minor league prospects for pitching.
