  1. Cubs have put the Schwarber ball back out...celebrating nothing
  2. QUOTE (gatnom @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 12:12 PM) I'm kind of surprised by the lack of Ken Griffey Jr. in all of these lists. He obviously wasn't here very long, but it was cool to see him in a Sox uniform. Yeah, but 17 is Carlos May: The only player in history to wear his birthday on the back of his Jersey.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 09:36 AM) The change to playing your own division first is dumb and needs to be looked at again. The central is head and shoulders better than everyone in hockey. Agreed. One upset in the Pacific is enough to ruin later rounds of the playoffs.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 09:29 AM) Really that is crappiest of all for St Louis. They have the third best record in all of hockey, and get the Blackhawks as a reward. This about this: if St. Louis had won on Saturday, they would have been tied for the second best record in hockey and would still get the Blackhawks. That's so bad for the later rounds of the playoffs. The whole point of seeding is to favor the better record teams.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) Travis Yost ‏@travisyost NHL playoffs: 1 v 14 2 v 17 3 v 5 4 v 9 6 v 13 7 v 10 8 v 11 12 v 15 Hawks are lucky enough to be in the 3 vs 5 matchup I'm not really sure how that's fair at all.
  6. Sucks we're not in the East. 8:30 is just ridiculous, especially when two Central teams are playing each other.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 06:37 PM) True lol. I'm just tired already of cubs fans on my Facebook bragging what a cake walk this will be to the world series. Im loving the Sox at this point but I know it's not easy. Make no mistake, the Cubs should make the playoffs, but to think it's just a walk in the park from there is stupid.
  8. I see what Arrieta is doing and I still can't believe it.
  9. QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 03:38 PM) Boy these jokes are as tired as papa Eaton is going to be! I feel okay chuckling at them, because no one really cares about the LaRoche situation anymore.
  10. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) I'm also hoping for Fulmer around June. He needs more time. Fulmer and Anderson infusing this team would be beneficial. I love John Danks and he's a local celebrity here, but I have no qualms saying he likely doesn't have anymore.
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) I'm hoping Anderson does well at AAA and comes up around August and takes the job. This is what I am hoping as well.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 10:23 AM) If the Sox are contending for a playoff spot at the end of the year, Rollins is not hitting 2nd Both of these things could be true. I wouldn't be surprised if Rollins is gone if we're contending.
  13. Good for him. He should take all the time he needs.
  14. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 12:36 PM) I'll take a 4-2 week to start the year. On to Minnesoata. More cold. The Sox have easily the worst schedule in baseball when it comes to locale of road games.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 10:30 AM) And then was the number 1 overall draft pick. A better comp is Jamie Benn, who was picked 127th overall by Dallas. For him, however, skating ability was in question.
  16. I feel like you shouldn't be able to call it a miserable year until at least a month goes by. Just saying. He's had a miserable few games
  17. In what is probably the best situation for the Blackhawks, they play the Blues in the first round.
  18. It totally sucks that the situation was that bad, but it really needs to get warmer. The fan experience has always been awful in the cold
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 04:59 PM) 1 Eaton 2 Abreu 3 Frazier That's what it should be. Get your three best hitters hitting 1-3. That would do nothing for Abreu. That means your 8 and 9 hitter set the table for Abreu. That doesn't make sense. He'll bat with the bases empty frequently.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 04:55 PM) I think the Sox can delay it. I don't think it is the umpires call until they get the line up card or it is a last visit. The new boards are spectacular. The only problem is the pitch speed. It flashes so fast, if you are watching the game you can't see it before it disappears. I am sure that will be fixed. In the sun today was chilly but I have been in a lot worse. Those in the shade had to be shivering. Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately the Sox aren't in town next time I am.
  21. Who decides whether or not a game is delayed? I can see if they didn't open to let it thaw. Any thoughts on the new video boards?
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) Garcia's HR swing in slo-mo Beautiful. Hopefully he can find some kind of consistency.
  23. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 06:25 AM) Schwarber playing out of position was absolutely a factor in his injury. The Cubs took a risk by playing him there and now they (and especially him) are paying the price. Same thing with Avi. He's not really an outfielder and is risking getting hurt out there. Of course, it's not nearly the same loss to the team if it happens. The Cubs had no real choice if Schwarber continues to be so good on offense.
