QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) Biggest choke ever? It was pretty bad, but it was an 3-11 matchup.

Who do you believe is MOST guilty in the Laroche situation?
Bananarchy replied to knightni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's 100% LaRoche. Honorable mention to Sale for making it worse. -

Look at this, an actual story. Not just some pampered star with his kid. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:56 AM) Mike HeikaVerified account @MikeHeika Jim Nill just said Seguin with cut of Achilles. Out 3-4 weeks. He was on the ice with the game in hand and 22 seconds left. Tough loss. Could be a game changer going into the final stretch.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 09:57 AM) 5% of me wants to reserve judgment here. We blasted Tate but that seems, at least according to his lawyers with some supposed documentary evidence, that his case was all BS and made up. Who knows if Nunn's in the same situation. Still though, the fact that these guys get anywhere near a situation like that is what's troubling. The problem I have with "reserving judgement" is sure, we can reserve judgement on each individual player, but that's 4 arrests, and there's a slim likelihood they're all unwarranted. Odds are, at least two of those arrests are legitimate. For that reason, I do not have a problem with condemning Groce. This, by the way, coming from a guy who supported Groce all season. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:02 PM) Groce shouldn't see another day at coach of U of I. Agreed. I'm embarrassed. One of the finest public universities in the United States and 40% of the team are alleged criminals. -
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) That's true. I just want him to be on the Sox for his entire career and it sucks knowing that he'll go elsewhere in a few years. I'll still root for him either way, but it won't be the same when he's on another team. I just want him to be on the Sox while he's young, healthy, and good value.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 02:52 PM) Well, the slim chance of Sale coming back to the Sox after his contract is up has officially bit the dust. The White Sox will have gotten more than their money's worth by then. And I'm not sure the Sox want to pay that elbow, anyway.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) This is not an all or none concept. It would be fun for a kid to be there occasionally. Its a burden to have them there all the time. If you truly can't see that, you are just after crticizing KW to criticiae him. And this is super common in all sports. Kids are around the clubhouse but not all the time.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:44 AM) That's not good to hear about the game. Hate to say this but LaRoche returning might be what's best for the clubhouse. I think that whole thing is overblown. And the players played yesterday, so clearly they weren't that militant that a weak manager like Ventura could talk them into playing.
-
QUOTE (Gakman23 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:41 AM) On Mike and Mike right now they are discussing how Robin had to basically beg the players to play yesterday after they found out Kenny stepped into the office and made the no LaRoche jr allowed in the office every day. Sounds like a team all on the same page, but I would guess someone probably complained behind the scenes and that's why this happened. I'm almost certain that whoever was uncomfortable fell in line behind the rest of the team to preserve chemistry. If I have a problem with my co-worker, I go to my boss, then act as though it didn't happen for the sake of the workplace environment.

Good grief, I agree with Rock. I don't know why Dick Allen thinks this is so complicated "It doesn't make any sense" It makes perfect sense. "Dial it back" is completely fair. Your kid doesn't need to be in the locker room every day.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:37 AM) Here's an article from last summer. And apparently KW didn't even realize the kid was around so much until this spring. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0620-story.html Further supports the idea that a new player went to a front office member and said something. I wouldn't expect Kenny Williams to spend much time in the locker room, otherwise.
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:31 AM) I disagree. I'm sorry that I'm not going to jump on board and praise him for being a great father. He's not a great father. Nailed it. Keeping your kid in a baseball locker room is not good parenting. The kid should be in school.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:19 AM) Exactly. Eaton has been tweeting about it and a "source" says Sale is pissed. Yet how many other players are quiet about the situation? Why do you think that is? Right. I respect KW for taking the "fire" on this. The fact is, there was likely a player, but he can remain anonymous and be "angry" in the meantime to preserve team chemistry.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) Maybe not, but still it is an unwelcome sign. What constitutes the amount of dialing it back? If he is a distraction every day, why wouldn't he be a distraction once a week? Most situations where kids "grew up in the locker room" involved the kids being there less than 50% of the time. Kyle Long was not in the locker room "every day" Also, it's not a matter of the kid being a distraction, it has a lot more to do with setting some ground rules. Someone was clearly uncomfortable.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 10:36 AM) Depending on how the cap floor rules would be applied to expansion teams, they would almost have to draft a few of the high dollar players to get past the floor level. For sure. I doubt they bite on Brent Seabrook, but you definitely expose him, anyway.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) I'm sure that would have been reported in one of the 1,000 stories about Drake last year Another Drake causing problems for a Reinsdorf franchise.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) Our organization looks horrible now. Great You're joking. The organization looks great and has a reputation for pleasing its players. Chill.
-
QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 02:29 PM) Absolutely no problem with what KW said. I haven't agreed with much from KW, but I'm glad he laid down the law on this.
-
Good. Confirmed. No harm, no foul.

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 01:35 PM) To his credit, I understand completely. He's said for a while now how having his son travel with him is so special. It's also suspect parenting. I highly doubt anything about this retirement will reflect badly on the White Sox. There is just so little smoke on this.
