Give me four years of Underwood classes and we'll see how good Illinois is. Programs are built. I don't care if today is the bottom. -

T-Wolves realized what a lot of us knew a long time ago: Thibs is an all time great defensive tactician. He is a bad coach. -

Trying to aid the sting by realizing Mitch was great to finish the game. Still sucks to lose that way. -

At least they need to improve. I'm not sure how close they have to get to the tournament. At some point Whitman isn't going to be able to ask to pay another basketball coach -
Oh no. You did it now.

Meh, the difference between baseball living or dying isn't Bryce Harper signing at an already popular team. They're better off waking a sleeping fanbase with him signing somewhere like the south side. White Sox fans love a winner and they'll go to games and watch games on TV for a winner.
-
So about that TV contract
-
I don't normally defend the G-man, but he was wrong, not necessarily sexist.

Baseball is a business. The two of them are going to do what's best for them. She could fly first class to see her brother every weekend for like a century if Machado gets the money he wants.
-
"But if the Cubs are successful the White Sox and the Reinsdorf family will go from swimming in an ocean of money to a sea of money. After that they're going to leave and we're going to be sad" Trust me, man. I've died on this hill before. It's not worth it.
-
That could happen, but right now the Cubs have too many players onboard and likely would have to make a serious move to stay within their budget targets.
-
Offseason. Don't ever change. I do love this board.
-
Man, it's not an offseason thread until someone trashes someone else for saying something kind of not hateful about the Cubs
-
Lol no they didn't. They had no interest in moving the Cubs. They just wanted to get what they wanted.

It feels like the wrong time to start a local TV channel. I get that baseball is an aging fanbase but wouldn't it make sens to have the Cubs or Sox be a streaming service in the local region? That way, I can cancel cable and pay for SoxNOW or whatever it would be called. As is, I love MLB.tv and it sucks the local markets don't get it.
-
It wouldn't be a competing service, but MLB sells many of their games to national outlets (ESPN Sunday night for example). If Amazon were to make a competitive bid on something like the MLB would be crazy to not listen. It's not hurting the NFL at all that Thursday Night games are on Amazon Prime.
-
I'm curious to find out when Amazon or Youtube will make a move to get streaming rights to big games. I like the agreement we signed in principle but the future is those subscription services.

People love to ask me "why were you in the Philippines?" so I have gotten used to it. Beautiful country. Sad how poor it is.
-
When I was in the Philippines on business I watched the Sox with this https://www.expressvpn.com/
-
Depends on what message baseball is trying to make.
-
Adam LaRoche Albert Belle Bryan Anderson Sammy Sosa Josh Fields (such a disappointment)

Yes. I'll put a deeper discussion of this company in the buster. Wait nevermind Basically, the Cubs have partnered with the worst company you have never heard of.
-
Cubs are partnering with Sinclair to form the "Marquis" network. Too bad the Cubs sold their soul to the bottom of the barrel of broadcasters.
-
Probably not as well as "Our owner also owns the Bulls and they're the biggest non-football draw in town".
