I was half joking (or half serious), but I could actually see them trading Cargo. He's coming up on 30, is steeply overpaid, and can't stay healthy. I'm too lazy to look up the stats, but his hitting record away from Coors isn't fantastic. Then again, they might keep all three (Blackmon, Cargo, Dickerson); can't imagine they'd resign Cuddyer.

They'd probably rather give us CarGo.

This year, Edwin Jackson has an FIP of 4.27, with an xFIP of 3.95 going forward. Also has a K rate of 8.13 and an average fastball of 93 mph. Danks has an FIP of 4.60, with an xFIP of 4.75. He doesn't throw hard enough to break a plane of glass (88 average fastball). I'd rather have Edwin, and it's not particularly close. This is all an exercise anyway; Cooper doesn't like Edwin, so that's that. If you guys don't buy these stats, that's fine. But other GMs are aware of them. And that's why we aren't going to get s*** for Danks.

I'd love to have Kemp and would be willing to take on half of his salary. He could be a great LF/DH. He could take Danks' money after we dump him.

I guess it depends on how you define "pure hitter". To me, a pure hitter is someone with elite pitch recognition skills, and Semien is the only one in our system with that talent.

I'd rather get rid of his sorry ass, take the money and get some major league hitters to fill the four or five black holes in the lineup, and look for the next Noesi to replace Danks.

Semien is the best pure hitter in the Sox system. I don't care if he's exciting or not.
