We still have multiple players on the 40-man who could be dropped at a moment's notice (de Los santos, Heath, Molina, Mitchell), so we should not be precluded from continuing to improve the roster (cough...catcher....cough...).
Personally, I'm a fan of Murphy. Good defense and nice secondary skills. He'd be superior to anyone we have currently.
As far as the cost, maybe Keppinger, Snodgrass, and 4 million?
I would continue to try to trade ADA, Dayan, and/or Beckham for the best deal you can get.
I'd try to dump Keppinger and Dunn for nothing.
We haven't addressed the catching situation at all. Something will be done. Just a matter of timing.
Signing Perez makes no sense. He's expensive and not very good.
Is anyone other than me familiar with Nate Jones' FIPs? Give him the job and let him run with it.
I see what your saying, but there's always the chance of Veal turning it around and being useful, even if it is a remote chance. OTOH, Morel will never be useful for anything...
Seriously. I don't think some folks on here appreciate how good he can be.
He slashed more than a full walk off of his walk rate last year. What if that continues to improve?
