    Oh I absolutely agree about "panic" but fans have a right to be concerned about his season, and to be honest, I'm not concerned about Moncada quite yet but I had higher expectations this year than a 715 OPS.

    To be fair, Kopech has a 5+ ERA in Triple A. The excuses for Moncada- raw, not much time against big league pitching, tons of pressure to be "the guy"- can't be said for Kopech. He's had plenty of time to develop in the US. That ERA is pretty discouraging, no matter if you're an optimist, pessimist or somewhere in between.

    Two weeks ago, I was thrilled with the idea of watching Palka & Davidson battle it out for the remainder of the year for the starting DH spot in 2019. Now, I’d rather put a nail in my eyeballs over watching either of them hit.

    If the rumors are true, Crawford’s issues are going nowhere. The “Hawks want Darling back” whispers only back that up. No way a team that’s typically cash-strapped is taking on a goalie who makes $4M a year unless it’s to be the starter.

    Even Hawk, who I dislike, consistently says that most players sit on fastballs because offspeed pitches are so tough to hit, especially now. Therefore why a lot of these guys, especially Sox, take a 92-96 mph fastball right down the middle is mind boggling

    Jake deGrom could be baseball's best pitcher and they're something like 2-8 in his last 10 starts. His ERA over that time is under 0.90.

    Even if he's bad tonight, I think we'll see a lot of "see, he's a fluke" stuff, but in reality, every good pitcher has a bad outing. I think we need to let this play out for the remainder of the year before making any true declarations.
