  1. I meant young good player* not defenseman RE: Barkov.
  2. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 10:17 PM) All that silly dynasty talk can stop now What if they win it next year?
  3. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 11:13 PM) Stan better be on the phone by now, calling every team that will answer about Brent Seabrook. Should I go out on a limb and say a Hawks/Florida trade is forthcoming? Seabrook for Barkov. DO IT. Why the hell would Florida trade a young, good defenseman for a slow, fat one?
  4. For all of these years, Seabrook has been a mediocre player who has looked decent because of Keith. This postseason, Keith hasn't been there to bail him out. I'm just glad Foley isn't doing these games. "Rough play there BUT HE WAS A PLUS 30!"
  5. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 27, 2014 -> 08:03 PM) No way would it take nearly that much, and he's not worth that. But, I'm fine dealing a Leddy this year to try to fill a 2C (if you are going to refuse to play Sharp there). He might be. In 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, he was nearly a ppg player. He's been hurt quite a bit since, so from that perspective, it might be too risky. I'm not ready to play Sharp there. I'm not sure of other names out there as a 2C to either sign or acquire.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2014 -> 10:58 AM) I still believe they could have had Kesler, and that would have been outstanding. It would have solved several issues that we are seeing now. It would take a hell of a lot to get Vancouver to deal Kesler inside the West and to a rival, and plus, it would probably take Leddy, Saad, a prospect and a few picks, and while I might do that, I don't think the Hawks would.
  7. The Hawks haven't run into a hot goalie. They've run into a hot team. This series is over.
  8. I have tickets for Payback, but besides Shield/Evolution and Bray/Cena, the card stinks. And plus, that might be game 7 for the Hawks.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 24, 2014 -> 11:04 PM) This year since 5/3... Hawks w/ Brandon Bollig: 1-4 Hawks w/out Brandon Bollig: 3-0 2013-14 playoffs Blackhawks with Brandon Bollig: 6-6 Blackhawks without Brandon Bollig: 3-0 2012-13 playoffs Blackhawks with Brandon Bollig: 3-2 Blackhawks without Brandon Bollig: 13-5 2011-12 playoffs Blackhawks with Brandon Bollig: 1-3 Blackhawks without Brandon Bollig: 1-1 TOTALS Blackhawks with Brandon Bollig: 10-11 (48% winning percentage) Blackhawks without Brandon Bollig: 17-6 (74% winning percentage) Honest to god, Brandon Bollig does nothing for a professional hockey team. He doesn't hit, he doesn't fight, he doesn't score, he doesn't have skate well, he doesn't "provide energy." Literally, he does nothing. I am so sick of hearing about how he "sticks up for his guys" when on a consistent basis, Kane/Sharp/Toews/etc get hit, Bollig's line comes out next, and he's nowhere to be found. Not that "sticking up" for them would do much good, but regardless, if that's his "role," he sucks at it. All in all, there was no logic behind his extension and I'm hoping that maybe another cup and a few ok performances gets him some attention from teams like Edmonton, Calgary, NYI, etc. Hey, I can dream. Dallas signed Burish after their championship in 2010, so maybe another team would give the Hawks a bag of pucks for this dope.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2014 -> 08:28 PM) Is that true? Is Wrigley a gang area or something? Wrigley most likely has crimes related to alcohol- public intoxication, DUI's, etc. The area around USCF is pretty underrated. It's not even close to being ghetto unless you go down 6-7 blocks. I have always parked on Union and 37th and have never had an issue with anyone walking to and from the game.
  11. Danny Briere's last good season was the year after his Flyers lost to the Hawks in the SC Final, yet he continues to play unreal hockey in April, May and June.
  12. QUOTE (lord chas @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 04:26 PM) This Hawks team is done. At least 2 game suspension for Seabrook Right on.
  13. This is an interesting move. Olsen and Hayes were never going to be major players for the Hawks. Clendening had surpassed Olsen as the next Rockford D up here in the eyes of many, and Hayes was too slow. I just hope Versteeg is his old self. Since leaving, he's done a whole lot of nothing and has suffered a big injury.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 08:33 PM) It will be intriguing to see what happens with the coaching search. It's such a high profile job, you can't just hand it to Orgeron. And the question is, are they playing better because the new coach is doing do well or because the old coach was that much of a cancer. It's not a roster devoid of talent. They admit that they are playing more loose under Orgeron. It just seems like Kiffin was too strict and with all of the losing, he became too uptight. Last week in Corvallis, the players were acting like they used to under Carroll. A lot of dancing on the sidelines, a lot of borderline taunting. Like it's fun again.
  15. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 12:30 PM) Right. Even when he's "dialed in," it's not like he's driving the ball with any authority. He's just slapping the ball around and getting hits. That's great if you're Juan Pierre. And it's not even great if you're him.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) Ozzies record of selling tickets recently is um....terrible. Has any Marlins manager been successful at selling tickets? With the exception of Ozzie, has any White Sox manager done it? Give me a break.
  17. Some team will take a flier on Ozzie one day. He's a great fit now in the media, whether it be for ESPN, FOX or TBS, but some team will get give him an offer some day. A team who needs the publicity and wants to be seen and who need to sell tickets. Now granted, the team will most likely suck after 50 games and will stop coming to games, but the initial excitement will get fans to the park for the first month and a half.
  18. Saltalamacchia would be nice, but that's it: nice. Of course his value is way overblown because he just won a ring. I'd rather have McCann, although he's going to get much more than Saltalamacchia.
  19. Anyone who ever thought Cutler was a p**** and who now thinks McCown is the answer going forward is a f***ing moron. That is all.
  20. A couple things: 1) I bet Winston prior to the year to win the Heisman at 75 to 1, and seeing as if how my brother loves FSU, he talked me into betting $100. I'm praying that he can win it. 2) I love the way USC has been playing under Orgeron. If they, OSU and Arizona run the table, USC will host the Pac-12 title game. Very unrealistic, but that's not the case if Kiffin is still coaching these guys. I wonder if Haden will seriously consider keeping Orgeron after the year. At the worst, I hope the new coach lets him stay on. 3) I bet the over in this Alabama game. JC Copeland's fumble is going to come back to bite me in the a**, I think.
  21. I went back to page 220 or whatever of this thread, and someone mentioned that Marshall would be upset if they let his best friend walk and got a new QB. False. Marshall would probably be upset, yes, but they are not best friends. Marshall didn't even stand up at his wedding. They're not best friends.
  22. So after a few run plays that get 0-2 yards against a bad run defense, you totally go away from it?
  23. That Bears' loss today is on Trestman. NO's D was giving up 5.5 ypc on the year, but he only gave Forte 4 first half carries. At the end of the 1st half, he didn't use a timeout. The Bears actually ended up advancing the ball to the 45-50 yard line. With 30 more seconds, they could've had another 2-3 throws.
  24. I love when people talk about "garbage time." What is the definition of garbage time? Because if they would've recovered that onside kick and won in OT, would those yards still be "garbage time" ones?
