Great 1-2-3 inning for Cotts. Lets win this s***.
-
I know they've been playing like s***, but we're down by ONE run. 12 comeback victories should tell you this team is fully capable of erasing a deficit (large or small) Two more innings, 6 chances to tie/win this game. Thats saying the bullpen will hold the Orioles to one run......
-
Willie K's. Threat ends.
-
2 outs, runners on the corners. Sandy actually makes himself useful with a bloop single. Willie, we need you to come through right now. CMON HOLLYWOOD.
-
You can understand trying to pitch Garland as long as possible. Diaz is pitching in Game 2, and nobody knows how far he's going to pitch into the game. Need that bullpen refreshed, but playing in a run one game isn't exactly the time to blowoff your best relievers. If we get this lead, I expect to see Politte and Marte.
-
Cabrera is gone, its time to win this game for Garland. Oh s***, Lopez is pitching in relief.
-
Eh, 2 out walk. There should be someone warming in that bullpen. I know we have another game coming up, but this is exactly the circumstances that lead to Garlands implosion. The first two outs in this inning were hard hit deep into the outfield. Only a matter of time before he gives up a jack, and we're completely out of this game

Here's a final: Minnesota beat Seattle 1-0. Can you f***ing believe that s***? Seattle can't do anything right this year. And either can we at this point in the game, this new pitcher is dominating.
-
Only 2 hits for the Sox up until this point......both by Gload. :puke Frank on First, Gload on Second, JOSE up. 2 outs.

Congratulations Aboz. Your first duty as Administrator is to expose all anonymous posters who browse Soxtalk. These people really irritate me.....WHAT ARE THEY HIDING!?

SI: Bad teams can be good at winning one run games
Flash Tizzle replied to Flash Tizzle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Here's an interesting stat Verducci should of used: Only Bad, lucky teams are 1-0 in 15 run games. -
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/writ...erun/index.html Its not the argument itself that irks me, its this label of the White Sox as a "bad team." Has Verducci not picked up a newspaper recently and noticed we're half a game out of first place? You might not label one run victories as having "heart", but how about including information about the 12 come from behind victories our team has had this year. Everyone has heard the old addage: The good teams win the close games. Well, does this not apply to the White Sox all of the sudden? Since 2000 (the last year where the sox had a winning record in one run games) the sox have yet to find themselves in the playoffs. Coincidence?

Does Steve Stone just like to hear himself talk
Flash Tizzle replied to WSoxShuf's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
What a performance by Abe Lincoln. :fthecubs Now, lets hope LA keeps this leadso they can bring in the GAGNE to shut....s***..... down. I would love for him to come out and embarrass Cub hitters, as he usually does. -
I have several general questions you can ask him: -What baseball team did you follow growing up? -Do you feel you could immediately help the Chicago White Sox if called up today, or do you believe more time in the minors would help you further develop as a pitcher? -Even though you have been experiencing success as a closer, would you be willing to change roles if the White Sox management felt it was necessary? I'm not sure if this has been answered on soxtalk..... -With the vacancy left by Felix Diaz in Charlotte, have you heard anything about your chances of being called up to fill his spot. According to Big Damon Andrews, the call is going to be made within the next 20 minutes. From radar images it doesn't look as if there will be too many opportunities to begin this game. http://www.weather.com/weather/map/60616?n..._animated&day=1

Dring the White Sox Rain delay feature I was treated to the craptacular show "I, Max." One of the emailers wrote about Frank Thomas reaching base in 24 straight games, and considered him one of the 5 most feared hitters in the game. Kellermens response was "He's not even one of the most feared hitters on his own team." Good to know Franks still earns respect among the national media.

Wasn't it Baker who created all the transformation effects in American Werewolf in London? Whether it was him or not, that person did a hell of a job; the Academy Award for Special Effects (which doesn't mean anything today) was well deserved.
-
Was it this guy he b****ed at? If so, the bastard deserved it.
-
Let me add it wasn't just him referring to us as the "other team," but the manner in which he said it. The look on his face when said "OTHER team" was if he had a chip on his shoulder towards the Sox. He's practically lushing over the Cubs, while simply stating the Sox wont make it to the playoffs because of pitching. "Koch and Da.....Damaso Marte need to step it up." Guess what f***er? Our divison sucks, we're in first, and our bullpen has been pretty solid lately. This isn't even the first instance of his b****ing. From the MLB boards I read a thread where Brantley was ripping the sox during the ESPN telecast last week: http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/message.asp...7767.1&search=y

Apu, care to discuss your list? Who is this guy, Darwin? African Americans are considered to have "lily-white hands," but it all depends on your pigmentation. Its possible the captors could of been light skinned Arabs. LOL. If you've seen the video (which you haven't,Apu) several of the men ARE STANDING STILL THE ENTIRE MOVIE. How the hell can you say the way they stand is a "western style" Do people in the middle east stand in a different posture? So? The author appears to base his observations off Hollywood movies. Films such of Kill Bill showcase a decapitation followed by a geyser of blood. I know from Anatomy that's not true, and I don't need personal experience to prove myself. Think about it , what could be the only alternative to this situation: that his captures drained all the blood out of his body, it was a dummy, or this was real and since nobody has witnessed a decapitation they don't know what to expect. Cmon, I suppose only the Arabian equivalent of Steven Spielberg would of better portrayed the agony of Berg's suffering. Men can't scream like women? In the moments before his death Berg should of sounded more manly, as to quell all skeptics who are looking to question his execution. First, he really didn't go to "great trouble" Haven't we all seen this before with captured Americans in Iraqi custody? They state their name, and where they're from; nothing odd. Apu, I know you're always willing to search for any signs of a conspiracy, but you have to look at this situation and see it for what it is: an innocent man was brutally killed, and by suggesting US involvement (or some sort of "wagging the dog" theory) you're searching for an explanation while the video evidence is right in front of you. Watch the video first before suggesting some "psy ops operation."

I know what video you're talking about, and I agree this recent tragedy is similar. Though this incident still strikes me as more sickening. "Thee" (I call it that because it has become well known at Ebaums world) Chechen Rebel video was 1. done to an enemy soldier; not an innocent civilian 2. No sense of personal attachment existed with the soldier, whereas this guy was f***ing murdered immediately after describing himself as an American with a family in Philadelphia. Now US media outlets are boardcasting pictures of three family members consoling each other outside of their house. How must these people feel knowing their brother/son was screaming while his head was SAWED off. Not that the Chechen video isn't brutal, but with no background on the victim it only seems more random. Talk about U.S. breeding hate with their Iraqi abuse scandal, the tides are equal when you murder American contractors. While the uncivilized, prehistoric Middle East believes this act is justified we're left questioning our role in Iraq, continually pointing fingers at Rumsfeld and Bush. I'm not here to complain about the war in Iraq, but I believe events warrant an out of control label when those who have NO intention (other then to help rebuild) are butchered. In law enforcement training (maybe Army does this two. Nuke?) they teach you if you are ever kidnapped to disclose stories of loved ones and ,if possible, pictures of family members. Try and create an emotional response is the intended effect, but it obviously has no effect with these Islamic terrorists. Cold blooded, ruthless, persistent, and unwavering in their hatred these bastards are using Iraqi torture as an excuse to behead our citizens. Noone should assume this man would of lived even IF the whole Iraqi abuse scandal never occured, but it just seems like a convenient excuse to the anti-war crowd. Those people like to walk the fine line of "I agree the murder is uncalled for.......but I do understand why they did it."

I don't know how you could stomach that Donkey. Swear to god, as long as I live, I will NEVER remove from memory what I saw on that video. Guess curiousity got the best of me (I downloaded the vid off Ebaums world), just trust me people, do not watch it. The sound of the guy screaming is terrible....

Frank knew that s*** was gone. He stolled at the plate for a few seconds and watched the flight of his magnificent homer.
-
Please Frank, no golden sombrero.

Sox are REALLY pouring it on. I don't know if I would of waved in Willie with an 11 run lead, but any RBI's for Maggs is alright for me. Now, its time for Big Frank to get in on this action.
