  1. Maybe. All I know is a Sasquatch wouldn't take no s*** from villagers. He'd be in there kicking ass, not observing some ancient treaty.
  2. How about Hawk? "He JUST missed it." I'm getting tired of hiring this everytime he pops out, which is about 2 times a game. According the Hawk, Lee should probably have about 40 home runs right now.
  3. 55 posts on the game day thread; WEAK. Maggs flies out to Clark for the first out. The Big Man up with Jose on 1B
  4. Damn, guess I didn't edit my post quick enough. In fairness to the Sun-times they didn't say a Sox fan intiated the fight (my original post made it sound that way) It was only Cub fans who were calling into the Score this morning pointing the blame onto "outisde agitators." We all know how quick the average Cub fan is to shower blame on southsiders, but in this instance the sun-times just reported the news.* *Althought I do find it odd how the first sentence in a sun-times article describes the victim as a Sox fan. You almost get the impression that it was the first piece of information the media was looking for.
  5. Ah yes, the Broken Window Theory. From my criminal justice classes, I recall it says something to the effect of what you described. Although it works in theory, prevention of crime really depends on the individual police department. In the case of this Wrigleyville shooting, in order to properly prevent further violence (like yesterday) Chicago police would have to increase in size and resolve. It should start with arresting those who exhibit public drunkeness, which often is ignored until a fight breaks out.
  6. Steve, seriously, DO NOT where any Sox or Anti-Cub clothing to the game. From today's Sun Times article (and listening to Cub fans call into the Score) they are insinuated it was a "Sox fan" who initiated the confrontation. Hatred is beginning to substantially increase among fans of both teams, and it wouldn't be wise to draw attention to yourself. :fthecubs
  7. Can someone explain how Minnesota has two first round picks AND two sandwich picks for Guardado and Hawkins? Why didn't we get similar treatment for Colon and Gordon? I see Sox have two sandwhich picks (follwed by two second round for colon/gordon), but how the hell did Hawkins and Guardado end up as 1st rounders?
  8. Lord knows if we did create our own version it would become proof of the "envious, disgruntled" sox fan image. The media would label our rebuttal as tasteless, but compliment that jackoff who created the original as humorous and witty. But in all honestly, I would love it if somebody assembled their own flash movie about Cub fans. :fthecubs
  9. This pile of s*** is beginning to surface in the media. A friend told me yesterday that WGN morning show played some pieces of the clip on the air, and Jurko (from Mac,Jurko, and Harry;ESPN 1000) made a reference to it. Could it be now people are beginning to realize this hatred Southside/Northside fans have for each other is equally reciprocated?
  10. I just watched the highlights on ESPN, and Minnesota was screwed on three home plate calls: twice a twin scored and was called out, and the final run in the game Winn looked out but was called safe..... Despite that, Sox are where they belong: in first place. :fthecubs
  11. This is how it ended: Bottom 16th B:0 S:0 O:0 Randy Winn hit by pitch. Bottom 16th B:1 S:0 O:0 Ichiro Suzuki singles on a line drive to right fielder Jacque Jones. Randy Winn to 3rd. Scott Spiezio reaches on a fielder's choice, fielded by first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz. Randy Winn scores. Ichiro Suzuki to 2nd.
  12. Whats going on? Seattle deserves to lose if they can't score in a 1st-3rd NO OUT situation.
  13. Does Boone expect to win the game without swinging the bat? f***ing dumbs***. Hopefully Martinez will come through and end this marathon.
  14. At 1:20 in the morning, on a weekday, nevertheless.
  15. Seattle must end this game NOW. It would suprise me if Nathan pitched another inning. I don't know of any other quality Minnesota relievers left in the bullpen, so this game should end soon.
  16. I have no objection to plunking Jones. First base was open anyway....
  17. Here it comes, the clutch hit the seemingly evaded Seattle for 4 innings.
  18. There it is, Seattle blinked......might as well give Minnesota the win.
  19. Why the f*** would seattle send McCraken into second when you have an excellent contact hitter in Ichiro.
  20. Talk about an unproductive inning: Stewart walks, but is unsuccessfully sacrificed to second Guzman is tagged out in a rundown Mientkewitz is picked off at 1st
  21. Who's coming up for Seattle?
  22. Aren't we lucky to have played a cold yankees lineup early in April. A win tonight for the Yanks would run their win streak to seven games....they're starting to click.
  23. Thank god its over. Lets forget about this corpseball ridden evening and look to pounding SIR sidney ponson tomorrow.
  24. I'll go out and say I'll eat a real life crow if the sox would come back from a seven run deficit with 2 outs.......and Jamie Burke at bat.
  25. Why can't we find closers like Julio?
