Why is it impossible for Minnesota to lose games in which they trail by 2 runs or less? 2002 was basically following the same forumula in which Minnesota would battle back every single game; its almost ridiculous.

During the course of a 162 schedule I don't normally shut myself out from the media, but today was different. Coupled with the circumstance itself and the Cubs opening day win I choose to avoid ESPN, radio, and newspaper articles on yesterdays monumental collapse. May seem extreme but its good to avoid all proof that opening day 2004 ever existed. Tomorrow is a new day and a new game. Hopefully we can all put this s*** behind us.

What the hell? Four people have refered to my use of the term corpseball. That's more replies than Young Gun screaming for Marte to "go back to Pittsburgh!" Granted this that this opening day was not an example of "corpseball" (last years was) but in the midst of anger and the crash of soxtalk server I became infuriated with this team and included the word into this thread. Difference between our posts is Marte has been consistent for two years while Sox have consistently been sucking it up during the first month. While this loss may be nothing to fret about, it could be the reemergence of another lackluster April. I'm sorry for whining, but this club needs to stomp KC (another 18-4 score would be great) and then go into NY expecting their bullpen and manager to remain solid.
