  1. What number was Konerkos stolen base?
  2. They're all morons. Do any of them believe the Cubs will never lose a game or blow a huge lead? When they do (and I'm hoping its against the messiah or wood) I'm going to be the first one trolling on the Cubs board. I'm just better of not posting now, since my screen name on whitesox.com is DMARTE123.
  3. You're right about Politte, he throws some heat. But the following are question marks:Shingo, Adkins, Jackson, Cotts, Botch, And maybe Marte.
  4. Indeed, this is a very rare occurence. Maybe the baseball gods are punishing sox fans for enjoying the collapse of the Cubs. "Karma" does appear to have shown its ugly ass at an appropriate time. Probably not, but everyteam does have a game like this and maybe its better we got ours out of the way early.
  5. When your puppy s***s on the rug you scold the puppy and hope they never do it again. Can't really make an analogy to our club, but if sox lose Wed. and sleepwalk through NY then there will be some empty seats at the Cell. That should teach them to never blow a late lead again!
  6. Why does it seem nothing ever works for our club? If its not "can't miss prospects" or trades its rookie managers. Pena was a new manager last year and didn't make his "rookie mistake" on opening day. s***, he probably didn't make a mistake for 2 weeks! Now a loss is a loss but why must the Sox blow a game which brings into question Ozzies managing prowess on HIS FIRST DAY. I swear, today's collapse could only happen to the Sox (and possibly the Cubs). Now every sports columnist out to rip KW will note how Cito Caston would of been a better choice because of his experience in the majors. Its almost as if everything KW does is destined to backfire. Nevertheless, I'm beginning to look forward to Wed. game. This day officially ends in 34 minutes, and that means today's loss will already be one day behind us. KC
  7. Can we lock the passionless thread now? We should keep it more as a relic of futility then some thread which posters refuse to let die. 2003 is over, and its existence is painful for me to endure. :puke
  8. I believe we could honestly label this day as one of the worst possible for Sox fan: -Sox lead 7-3 into the 9th but bullpen implodes and a 9-7 loss to the division rivals KC is the final outcome -Minnesota wins -Detroit f***ing Wins -Flubs win -Cardinals lose -Astros lose
  9. Don't tell Harold Reynolds that: "An opening day win for the Tigers is a HUGE step in the rebuilding of this team. These guys have to be feeling good about themselves and their chances this year"
  10. Drill rod, Opening Day 2000: Texas Rangers 10, White Sox 4. I'm sure this win wasn't as brutal as today's but one loss does not spell disaster.
  11. I was thinking back to late in the season last year when we needed Esteban to be our stopper against Minnesota (twice) and he blew both games. I don't consider the "flu bug" story of him feeling sick before a Minnesota game believable because some baseball writers saw him in a bar after the game. Hope Este can give us reason to forget this game, and possibly bring us some optimism going into New Yawk.
  12. Don't worry, I'm sure Schoenweis will have confidence in Ozzie and the bullpen if he brings a lead into the 7th.
  13. Exactly. And what about this past offseason, where I read this post many times: "Don't worry about our lack of offseason acquisitions, We have 5 months to make a move. The season doesn't start until April!" I honestly belive the Sox can pull it together Wed. I'm just worried about the long lasting effects of this loss. Going into NY. with a confused Guillen and a confidence shot Marte/Politte/Botch doesn't spell success.
  14. This is something new, as I have never seen someone create a thread 2 days prior to a game.
  15. We were also fooled by Ozzie when he assured Soxdom Koch was our closer. Well, Oz didn't seem to be very confident in his "closer" when he stolled out to the mound and called for Marte. Is he going to pull botch every game when he runs into trouble?
  16. Lets hope not. There would have to be another substantial collapse to replicate today's record number of members.
  17. Again WHarris, even if they do win Wed. today's game is not one you merely forget about. If your Scott Schoenweiss, are you confident going into New York knowing the mistake your manage made on opening day and your bullpen can't hold a 4 run lead in the ninth? If Sox can pull a win out of Wed. and split the NY series I'll begin to push today's collapse in the far regions of my mind. Go You White Sox :fthecubs
  18. Why can't you see that these sort of games set tones for the beginning of the season? I can guarantee that Sox are going to be desperate for a win Wed. (and probably play like s***) going into the New York series. If Sox travel to New York having been swept by KC you will see the reemergence of........ CORPSEBALL 2004
  19. Marte didn't have no break on his breaking ball or velocity on his fastball, thats why he got hit. His s*** will pick up through the following games, Koch was hitting 96 in his brief work in the 9th and everyone was worrying about his pitchers. Politte should NOT of been pitching in the ninth.
  20. Very depressing day, and tomorrow will be just as dismal. I swear to god when we start all this talk about "starting the season strong" Sox end up playing corpseball. Although a win Wed. is essential, going into NY with our bullpen blowing up is a very troubling event.
  21. Anderson has to be racking up the pitch count by now.
  22. f*** Maury! Get to the damn white sox game, WGN!
  23. Yes, be your general comment made no indication of a score. :fthecubs GO SOX
