Both teams sound horrible tonight. Tribe better hold them down
-
Cmon Tribe, come through here.

I didnt see the game Santana pitched against us last week, what kind of s*** does he throw?
-
Similar story with KC/Det. 0-0 Bottom of the 2nd.
-
Im just waiting for this move to explode...............patiently waiting.
-
:dips*** Its time to end the 10 game unbeaten win streak for this guy, Tribe. I've noticed nobody on Minnesota message boards have questioned the move to have yohan pitch today over our series. Apparently Minn. is more concerned over gaining 1/2 a game over us then a full game.

Since I'm in the company of beatles fans, does anybody else hear a weird chorus at the end of "A Day In the Life." I downloaded it off WinMX (it 5:34 long, incase there are different versions) and around the 5:13 mark it begins. Don't know if its the beginning of another track but what they're saying doesn't seem to make any sense. Wonder if its the classic "paul is dead" when you play it backwards.

Big fan of the Beatles myself. Not as hardcore as you two probably are, only listen to the songs that get radio time. The two favorite albums for me are Beatles 1 and Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. As far as listening to sound clips of music, I've heard that beatle executives (including Ringo Starr and McCartney) are total assholes about sharing their music. Just recently they sued Ipods music program for "unlawful"use of their songs. There's no need to be that uptight; their families could live another 100 years off the royalties the beatles generate.

Could somebody explain why Santana isn't pitching in the upcoming series? Does Gardenhire have that much confidence is his team that he doesn't even give his best pitcher a start in the series. Only other reason Gardenhire has to pitch Santana is to possibly get a 1/2 game advantage on us going into the series. Hopefully this move explodes in his face and Twins crawl into their s*** dome.

Jimenez cant shake his roots in our organization. In the top of the 6th he pulled a classic Sox moment and swung at the first pitch and popped it up. There were runners at 1st and 3rd with one out. Anybody else watching the Cubs game hear the fans do the "Na na na na.......goodbye" routine when the Cincinatti pitcher was being replaced? This game is making me sick. Cincinnati comes back from behind in two games only to give it up the following inning. Now its 9-6 Cubs.

Can't say I have ever listened to or appreciated anything Johnny Cash had done, but I did enjoy John Ritter. I wouldn't go as far as to say he was a comic genius, though he had a real nice-guy quality to him. For me his best role was in Stephen Kings It. What seems to compound this tragedy was that his heart attack was undectable and he has left behind several young children.

We can't depend on Detroit and Cleveland to get the job done the next several nights. I wouldn't think there will be another day where both KC and Minn. lose (to these teams atleast). Get 1 (hopefully 2) in Boston and then we can worry about Minn. It wouldn't be a great situation going into the dome 2 games out and expecting a sweep to stay in the race.
-
Thats a good point Donkey. If you look at the last three games played with Boston, we have basically shut their offense down. 5 hits yesterday.........2 hits against Colon in his loss.....not sure how many there were in the extra inning game at the cell. Obviously the walks killed us more then anything last night and I'm doubtful you will ever see another walk a thon like that the remaining games. Colon has been sharp his last several starts. I expect him to pitch another great game today; hopefully we'll give him more support off the knuckleballer Wakefield

I just thought of something for tomorrow; who wants to bet that the Cubs sell out both potential playoff games at Wrigley field in less time then the Sox. (Tribune will assure this happens. If there isnt one then the Trib will just buy their own tickets and scalp em as usual.) I can almost sense SOME dips*** using the amount of time it takes to sell out tickets as proof that Cub fans are more loyal to their team than the Sox. That will be followed by comparing attendance figures and bringing up attacks on the umpires.

Bastards. Juggernaut seemed to drive that topic of the UD into Soxtalk and I basically ignored it. Its a shame, but if the Sox get to the playoffs I'll be happy being stuck up in the tank.

My dad got tickets in Upper Deck from ticketmaster. Apparently he called for the tickets in Milwuakee (anticipating a backup in the phone lines in Illinois) at 10:00. When he calls them a recorded message say tickets start selling at 10, and hang up. Calls back again and has to wait 8 minutes to talk to a representative. Ends up we could of purchased lower deck box seats, though they were at 4 completely different sections of the field. Even though our tickets are in section 550, row 10 Im glad to get a chance to go. Does anybody think the Sox will be allow people to walk along the concourse? They didnt at the all-star game, and it really pissed me off. It would be great to have super-fans like Credes Crew on the Fan Deck during the playoffs supporting the team.

THATS HORSEs***. I want a video clip showing Selig flipping a coin, and someone calling heads or tails in air. I hope this information starts getting around Soxdom, because their will be some really pissed off Sox fans. To avoid this situation we'll just have to stomp those b****es when we go to the dome.

Halladays final games left in the rotation: -DET -TB -CLEV. Loaizas.........: -MIN -NYY -KC Detroit can really play a big role in not only our post season chances, but Loaizas Cy young candicy. It will really be hard to believe Halladay will somehow collapse over the next three starts, but Loaiza definately needs to atleast win 2/3 to keep his chances alive.

Joe Posnansk: Pena Says "It's not over yet"
Flash Tizzle replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Heather, did you read the whole article? Posanski is indirectly admitting that KC is lifeless and has no chance of winning the division. Of course Tony Pena would say something like were "still in it, theres a lot of baseball left." Imagine how it would be to talk to the media and concede the division. Posanski knows there is no hope left, unless the Royals go on a ridiculous 16-3 run. The line following the Stones summarizes his tone: "And sometimes, Mick could have added, you need a win. And you don't get it. That's how even the most magical seasons come to an end." -
Im sure everybody who saw this game noticed how Maggs and C Lee in particular stood at the plate longer then necessary to watch their Minn. served jacks leave the ballpark. I thought it would end up being a problem, and it seems it already has. Although this quote wasn't in the MLB sites I found it on the AOL sports section: "It's good we didn't quit, but at the same time those guys are having a lot of fun,'' Twins outfielder Dustan Mohr said. "Every time they hit a home run, they stand in the box for 10 seconds and watch it. I'm kind of getting tired of seeing it.'' I would bet on seeing some kind of action taking towards the Sox tomorrow or Thur. Not only because of the home run glaring but because AJ Piercinski was HBP and retaliation was never taken. We all know Garland would plunk someone in the right situation, but It would be interesting to see if Loaiza would risk delaying his chance for a 20th win at home to back up a team mate.

Game Thread (9-9): Hostess Twinkies vs. White Sox
Flash Tizzle replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Whenever Sandy plays good things happen. He's been a hell of a tough out lately, and frequently gets big hits for us. If only Sandy could play everyday, or atleast more frequently then he already does. -
This notion that Sox can't hit pitchers they've never seen, and sending up Pudillo to continue the trend is a HUGE gamble for the Twins. Imagine what's going through this guys head: coming into a playoff race from the minors and having to start at their rivals home field. If were really going to beat Pudillo Sox need to add runs early when he's nervous. Seems too often Sox will let a pitcher get into a groove, and then have to wait till bullpen relief to make a comeback. Im not one for making predictions, but I have to say this trend stops tonight. If anyone beats the Sox it will be themselves swinging at first pitches and failing to play small ball. But it just has to stop, and it makes sense now more then ever to break out of it. From this point on we probably wont be facing pitchers we've never seen before. (Eith maybe the exception of KC. I know Sox havent faced Gobble)

Of course ESPN would pick SF to win. It seems like the emotional pick to make with SF losing game 7 of last years WS and Barry Bonds losing his dad. (But oddly the emotional pick was wrong in 2001. Yankees lost the WS following 9/11, and I thought for sure the baseball gods would not allow anything else.) Not taking anything away from their team, but I don't think they'll win the World Series. If I put down any other team (other then the Sox) to win the WS I would guess Atlanta. They normally choke in playoffs but I just have more faith in them this year. Offense, normally not well-spoken of, is very solid for this years Atlanta team. Pitching and defense were always superb so it appears they have all the pieces.

Nevermind, i read some of the other threads he was in. Starts alot of s***.
