we dont clinch with a win... if we win and so do the tribe.. then they sweep us(not likely) then we have a one game playoff to decide the division winnner. but if we win today we clinch at least a wildcard berth
sigh...
"We win today, and we win the division. it's that simple. i'll explain -
The Magic Number is officially 2, but all we have to do is win once to clinch the AL Central. If the Sox win tomorrow and Cleveland wins out, both teams finish the season with the same record. Because both Boston and New York can NOT finish with records better than Cleveland or the Sox in this situation, a one game playoff would not be necessary. The Sox would be considered the AL Central champs, and the Indians would be considered the Wild Card winners due to the Sox having the better head to head season record. One win in the next 4 games = AL Central Champs."
I won't make it back till 2, so i'll catch the last hour of the game.
I would skip my classes, but i'm going to be skipping a ton next week, gotta do what you gotta do

hitting the ball on the ground to the right side is executing with less than 2 outs and runners on second and third. "shoulda/coulda/woulda" isn't actually getting the job done.
ok, fair enough.
i thought you were commenting on ozuna/uribe's AB's.
but in that line of thinking, i agree with you
QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 06:40 PM)
catch a break? what kind of dumbass statement is that?!? we need to EXECUTE not rely on luck.
what?
2 hard hit balls that should have been a hit/homerun, is excuting, i'm sorry.

I agree, anyone who calls our top of the 2nd inning corpseball doesn't know what corpseball is.
agreed.
i don't think anyone is complaining about our guy's lack of hitting, it was just the utter complete awful luck that inning to add ontop of everything.
