  1. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 02:07 PM) It depends what happens with the two Cubans, the Sox are said to have interest in Rusney Castillo, which would push Eaton to a corner, but there is also Yasmani Tomas, a 23 year old corner outfielder with 70 power. Sign them both
  2. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 15m The Giants have been investigating the starting pitching trade market, considering their options. Giants could be another team interested in Danks. He would fit well in that ball park.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 03:02 PM) Nathaniel Stoltz ‏@stoltz_baseball 3m Tim Anderson is taking infield today, still has his wrist protected. That's encouraging.
  4. They have some good catching prospects and some decent pitching prospects, so yes.
  5. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 01:30 PM) I personally think of change of scenery deal with Domonic Brown makes a lot of sense. Sox are going to need some LH power after Dunn leaves in the off-season. Brown is a year older and both are due for FA in 2018. That's interesting idea but Brown is a worse defender than Viciedo I believe.
  6. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 12:59 PM) I feel like Jonny Gomes would make Tank redundant in Boston. Yeah, I still think the Mariners would be the best fit for Viciedo.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 12:33 PM) Headley's stock has plummeted. We were all desperate for him at one point. Yeah I was never a fan of him from the beginning. Gillaspie >>>> Headley.
  8. So essentially the Yankees got a MLB ready player (although 27 years old) and their 15th rated prospect as rated by MLB.com. DePaula has had a decent year. Low 4 ERA but strikes out more than 1 inning. I think we could get more than that for Danks.
  9. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 12:09 PM) He's a number 5 starter at best making a #2 salary, and his "recovered" shoulder can barely break 88. Dump, dump, dump, dump. He actually hit 91-92 last outing.
  10. Yankees get Chase Headley for Solarte and Depaula
  11. Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 8m The two #WhiteSox drawing the most interest: John Danks and Dayan Viciedo, according to sources.
  12. Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 10m Source: #WhiteSox lefty John Danks drawing "lots of interest" on trade market. http://sbnation.com/e/5690718 Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 8m The two #WhiteSox drawing the most interest: John Danks and Dayan Viciedo, according to sources.
  13. John Danks for LHP Ian Clarkin and RHP Luis Severino
  14. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:36 AM) Don't look now, but Nestor Molina has a 0.57 ERA over his last 15.2 innings. He's given up five hits, walked one, and struck out ten over that span. I know he was horribly misjudged by Kenny Williams and whatever scout said he was close to being a major league starter, but could he be a useful bullpen piece? His ground ball rate is really good and he's only walked 11 over 41 innings while opponents are hitting 248. Those numbers aren't bad at all, he just has a 4.75 era.
  15. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20140722 Charlotte- Johnson Birmingham- Recchia and McCully (Double header) Winston Salem- Dykstra Great Falls- Clark AZL- Rodon??? Kannapolis is off today.
  16. Marin getting rocked through 2 innings. 5 ER on 7 hits.
  17. QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 01:00 PM) Let's hope Beckham has the best 10-day stretch in his career. Of course the Beckham lovers would all come out of hiding and say that we need to keep him haha I agree. I just want to see what the kids could do up here. (Semien, Johnson, Sanchez, Davidson, Saladino)
  18. Uggla to the Giants. So that could take them out of middle infield trade targets.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) I still think there's an outside chance Rick Hahn looks at his roster and thinks he has a potentially competitive team in 2015 with a reasonable amount of spending and an absolutely competitive team by 2016 with maybe even a small amount of spending. If that is the case, moving Alexei Ramirez would set that back, meaning that there would need to be a return good enough that by 2016 it would offset the loss of the player and shifting to a kid there. That's my standard. If we don't get that, I'm not interested. A "b" prospect better be a pretty darn sure fire thing to motivate me. Exactly what I think. Get another starter, and a power hitting outfielder and hopefully Rodon is set to be in the rotation by then and we can have something special.
  20. Matt Davidson- how he has overcome his struggles from the beginning of the season and through the thumb injury. JB Wendelken- hows the adjustment coming to a new organization and how he has adjusted through the year.
  21. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal · 24m Featured in column: #Cubs/Price, #WhiteSox, #Phillies, #Yankees, #Tigers, #Angels/#Padres trade, #BlueJays, more. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/david-p...ago-cubs-072014 … The link provides Sox trade candidates. As expected Alexei has the highest value and Beckham has little value at all.

  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 09:20 AM) Could be, though I'm not entirely convinced he's ready. It would also alleviate some pressure in Kanny on their infield, as someone like Stringer could come up to W-S in a corresponding move. Then one of the rookie infielders, maybe Jake Peter, could head to Kanny. I agree. Those would be the promotions I would make.
  24. Even if Hanley is out, they still can extend him, play Alexei at SS and Dee Gordon at 2B. I'd want Pederson, Lee and Reed for Alexei
  25. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 08:52 AM) Floethe hadn't pitched in a long time, and was released a week or two ago. As for SS at B-Ham, they only have four infielders on their roster now - Ravelo (who plays only 1B), Wagner, Farrell and Curley. Curley can play a competent SS, and Wagner is a 3B, so that means Farrell at 2B. Marrero can play 1B too but is listed as an OF. They're a little thin on skill INF's right now (probably why Ravelo played 3B for a game the other night). Yeah I saw that, I think they still need another infielder up there, and in my opinion, DeMichele has earned a promotion.
