  1. Sox released Maikel Cleto? Mlbtraderumors says so.
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 02:24 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 1m Jacob May (Class A Winston-Salem) was named Carolina League player of the week: .533, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 9 stolen bases 12 runs. I would of questioned the league for not naming him player of the week. Obvious choice, the kid has been on a tear lately.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 02:32 PM) Jesse Sanchez ‏@JesseSanchezMLB 2h Favorites for top prospects: NYY (11), HOU (3) BOS (2), COL (2) CWS (2), SEA, TOR, TB, MIL, PHI, DET, MIN, KC, SD,NYM http://atmlb.com/1irBBzQ I hate the Yankees. And at what time can free agents sign, 12am ET?
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 11:38 AM) Winston-Salem will be on CBS Sports Network on Thursday night. Hopefully Anderson is back by then. That will be fun to watch live.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 11:36 PM) Interview with Davidson...video of the homer within. Charlotte's new field is fricken sick. Unreal for a minor league stadium.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 10:55 PM) video of Barnum's oppo.. http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?con...;tcid=tw_video_ If he could end up around 260 with 15 HRs, that would be a successful season for him. Still only 21 too.
  7. Does anyone else wish this happened to the Sox? Aside from everything leaking out and how the negotiations went, that article was pretty interesting and makes me think what Hahn got offered and wanted.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 10:52 PM) http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/stats/_/id/5...win-encarnacion Encarnacion went from his rookie year through 2011 (and these were years when power was up) hitting mostly in the low 700ish range for OPS. He played 3B at that time, but he was terrible at that position, and eventually moved to 1B/DH. There's also the example of Jose Bautista, who had a very solid rookie year, almost fell entirely off the map and then recovered. Domonic Brown...Pedro Alvarez, etc. No guarantees, but Encarnacion and Viciedo have been compared a lot. He's definitely worth SOMETHING to someone. Thank you for doing this. Some people seem to forget that for some players it does take time to develop. Viciedo is still only 25, he's got talent, just needs to put everything together, and I hope that it's with the White Sox.
  9. Adolfo 0-3 with 3 Ks lol
  10. Seth Lakso @SethLakso · 13m #cltknights gamer - Matt Davidson: "I’m never going to act like I’ve figured it out again in my whole life."
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 09:29 PM) https://twitter.com/DanHayesCSN/status/483799135154618368 We all like to see that.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 09:23 PM) He better be. The power is still very encouraging with him.
  13. You guys think Davidson will be a September call up?
  14. Dykstra 7.2IP with 8 Ks and only 1 ER Trey 2-4 inside the park homer and 2 RBIs Barnum is 4-4 average up to 245. DeMichele has his average up to 267
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 07:02 PM) I think we'd all be, but the problem is the Astros may still sell him as a 130 wRC+ catcher. Given what they asked for Bud Norris & Lucas Harrell, I don't see them being realistic with their demands for Castro, not when he's one of their best chips. I still think Grandal makes more sense for us. He's younger and under team control for an additional season, plus I think his bat projects better for our lineup. He won't be easy to get, regardless of his down year so far, but maybe a package centered around Davidson (assuming a rebound), Beck, and an A ball wild card would be something they'd consider in the offseason. You don't give up on Davidson yet, Grandal has had a bad season, you buy low, that would not cost Davidson. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 08:15 PM) Garcia is naturally a fat guy. He's fat right now. He's a groundball hitter. He relies on speed. He has a flat swing and doesn't get much lift. It's a recipe for a bust. That's why the Tigers gave him up for a no bat SS. Completely disagree. Tigers were desperate at the time for a SS with aspirations of winning a World Series. Their outfield was already set and at the time Iglesias had a hot bat. You cannot call him a bust with 30 plate appearances this year...
  16. What's our international pool money limit again?

  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 08:06 AM) Meh, Jon Heyman is New York lingo for Phil Rogers. That guy throws a lot of stuff at the wall I disagree, I think he's pretty good. To the topic, what teams did he say would be interested in those players and I definitely think we should sell. Everyone knows this isn't a playoff team yet so trade the pieces you have now that have value and set yourself up for the future.
  19. May with another double lol 2-2. Hawkins 0-1 with RBI
  20. Thompson 1-1 R Ravelo 1-1 RBI May 1-1 2B, R DeMichele 1-1 RBI Hawkins 0-1 Jake Peter is 2-2. Kid is on fire.
  21. Where is Frank De Los Santos? I don't see him on the AAA or AA roster.
  22. Petricka made Thole look an A ball hitter that at bat.
