  1. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 05:43 PM) I'm probably Webb's biggest fan (liked him since his draft year and was my sleeper pick for two years) but I find it funny people are adamant on trading Reed who is only six months older than Webb, has major league experience and is cost controlled. Reed's been a closer for years. No doubt in my mind he's good enough and has the mindset (who knows with Webb). Completely agree. Can't argue with a guy completing over 85% of his save chances and a WHIP right around 1 and about a strike out an inning. Reed will be the closer.
  2. Thompson with a bomb in his first at bat. Hawkins and Ravelo both 1-2. Jaye struggling tonight.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 04:51 PM) I still say Q counts. His jump was crazy. I agree, just didn't know if people would consider that. But yeah, hopefully Petricka and if/when Webb and Johnson come up, this pitching staff can be very very good next year and the rest of this year.
  4. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20130817 Snodgrass and Jaye both pitching tonight. For the Dash, both Cose and Jaye have been pitching well and efficient. Barnum also back for Kanny. Hopefully the offense shows up tonight for all teams.
  5. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 04:40 PM) Has anybody informed Keith Law that the Sox farm system has developed another piece for the big-league club? You can now say that the entire pitching staff has been through the Sox system minus Purcey and Lindstrom. Possibly Quintana?
  6. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 03:45 PM) I think Petricka is best suited as a 6th-7th inning guy. If he does well. He'll take Lindstrom's spot in the bullpen. Having Jones and Reed in 8 and 9 is still very good.
  7. QUOTE (lord chas @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 04:01 PM) Safe to say looks like Sox will be getting a very minimal return for Crain Hayes said the deal is based on appearance. But anything is better than nothing
  8. Earliest Crain will be back is August 29th, got transferred to the 60 day DL.
  9. Troncoso goes to the 15 day DL and hopefully stays there. Petricka is 5-0, 1.81 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 54.1 innings. Really happy about this.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 09:39 PM) another K for Jacobs....at least Thornton has been a non-factor for the Red Sox Still be patient. Just in a slump. Hasn't even had a full season in AA
  11. Never seen Konerko run that fast before
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 09:14 PM) Grand slam for Engel I think we should see him in Kanny soon
  13. Quintana sure has battled tonight. But good pitchers step up and he's been proving that. Will still go 6 possibly 7 innings.
  14. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 08:19 PM) Micah 2/4, 80th SB. Tim Anderson 2/4, HR, 21st SB. He is now 21 of 25 in SB. That's very nice. We should definitely see Micah up in AA at the start of next year possibly along with Ravelo and pitchers Jaye and Cose. That would be.exciting team to follow. Wonder if they push Anderson to high A at the start of next year.
  15. Garcia nearly beating that out. Just amazed that he's that fast. It's refreshing having a player hustle everything out. Phegley does this as well.
  16. Dunn with a bomb. Now 2-2 in the game. 4-1 Sox top 3
  17. Keppinger hits a missile out for a HR. Can't believe he did that.
  18. Olacio pitching a gem. 7 innings 3 hits 0 earned 0 walks and 4 K's
  19. Viciedo with a 2 run single. With 2 outs also. Very nice.
  20. Quintana vs Correria. Mauer homer 1-0 bottom 1
  21. Anderson rips his first career HR. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20130816
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 08:40 PM) Bad when NOBODY claims you on a $500K deal... HE's been with what, 5 teams in the past 4 seasons? Of course, he'll end up with the rebuilding bullpen next year, another version of Riske or Frasor but less expensive. If we could get a return like for Lindstrom like we did for Frasor then I'll be ecstatic.
  23. Per Rosenthal. Think he gets traded?
  24. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 08:19 PM) Montas walked 7 batters. LOL. Limits to only 1 run and 2 hits though. Just needs to work on control.
