  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 06:20 PM) Finally a suggestion from an intelligent Boston Blogger. Red Sox Would Receive: SP Jake Peavy White Sox Would Receive: P Anthony Ranaudo, 3B Garin Cecchini, C Christian Vazquez. http://www.overthemonster.com/2013/7/25/45...-for-jake-peavy Honestly, I think I would take that deal in a heartbeat.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) That's also an article for Espn Boston Yeah noticed that. More mind games in the media with the GMs
  3. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 06:11 PM) So does the rival exec work for the Indians or the Tigers? There's so much hot air being blown about this, and none of it is trustworthy. Much like most of the information has been with the White Sox so far. So much smoke.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 06:01 PM) The fake Twitter accounts are out in full force already. I've seen Rios and Peavy traded a couple times already. Wednesday at 3 can't come soon enough. Yeah I've seen that as well. Seen a fake Rosenthal twitter giving off information.
  5. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 06:00 PM) The story says a pitching prospect and a lesser prospect. Screw that. If that's all they can get for Peavey, just keep him. I agree. If we do trade Peavy, we will get more than that.
  6. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 05:52 PM) http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/red-sox/pos..._medium=twitter The executive in this story thinks Sox will accept a Pitching prospect and one other prospect for Peavy. Only 2 players? Unless its Webster and Cecchini, not a chance only 2 players.
  7. I'm feeling a Rios mid game trade. Gets pulled after going 2-2 with 3 RBIs
  8. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 04:23 PM) Joel Sherman ‏@Joelsherman1 2h B4 traded for Soriano #Yankees checked in with #chisox on Rios were told on his no-trade and would not waive it so moved to #Cubs Soriano https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1 That's fine. Trade him somewhere else that he doesn't have a say in it. Rangers & Pirates seem most logical fit.
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) They better do this. No way we get s*** for him in August. Well the trade would be based off on how many innings he pitches and how well in August and September.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) I think Pittsburgh will end up with Stanton when he is inevitably traded. i like it, but would the Pirates have enough money to afford Stanton?
  11. Buster Olney just tweeted, "It'll be interesting to see if contenders try to structure a conditional trade for Jesse Crain based on how much he's able to pitch Aug/Sep" As one poster mentioned contenders trading for Jesse and getting PTBNL on how much he pitches in the upcoming months. I say go for it.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) I can't believe the Sox haven't made any moves besides Thornton. You think the money issue is a holdup? If I were Jerry I wouldn't want to pay teams money for taking Rios/Dunn/Peavy/Lexi off our hands. It's bad business just to give away money with players. Hahn is really going to get blasted if he doesn't make some good trades. I agree that Hahn will get blasted if he doesn't make GOOD trades, but if the right offer just isn't there then there is no reason to trade him especially with Peavy. I want Rios gone. Like Bucket said earlier, the Sox aren't run by Kenny anymore, Hahn is being much more patient and letting the market play itself out so that he could get the best deal available for this ball club.
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 02:21 PM) I read it first as Beckham too but I have had a detached retina procedure so by habit I looked again. Berkmans the switch hitting DH has knee and hip problems . I was hoping the Biogenesis suspensions would be handed out by the All-Star break but no such luck on anyone but Braun because RF Nelson Cruz is a prime candidate and Rangers must take that into consideration also. That's why the Rangers are thinking big right now. Wow yeah it is Berkman. Like other posters have said if the Sox can package Rios and Dunn and eat some money and land a prospect of Profar and some others, I would be ecstatic.
  14. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 02:44 PM) I really like Lucas Sims. Also really intrigued by Christian Bethancourt. The Braves are the last team I'd like to see the Sox deal Peavy to though. Yeah other than that, they have nothing going for them.
  15. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 01:50 PM) The landscape keeps changing. Three things that have happened that have radically shifted Sox deals: 1) Hudson injury 2) Crain injury 3) Berkman injury The Sox FO is different now than in the past. Rick is very, very patient. That is interesting but why does Beckham's injury change things?
  16. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 12:47 PM) I would be ecstatic with Stanton playing at the Cell. I cant even imagine his power numbers there. I'd be so giddy if Stanton was on the White Sox.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 12:48 PM) Brandon Jacobs should be in there somewhere, but isn't. He's #8.
  18. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y20...=mm_mlb_players Only thing I disagree about the list is that Mitchell and Molina are still in the top 20. Also, from just 2 years ago, system looks much better and deeper. I know nothing is for sure, just based on potential, it's at least encouraging. Thoughts?
  19. Braves focused on Jake Peavy and Ervin Santana per Steve Adams on mlbtraderumors. Price is high for both and the Royals have made it clear they want major league ready talent for Santana. I don't know if they'll get that. We'll see what happens.
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 12:15 PM) I'd really like Brentz in the deal. Something like Webster, Brentz, Cecchini, and one lesser piece would be a great return in my opinion. I like that too. Like Almanzar as the lesser prospect? That would be a great package.
  21. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) webster/owen/ranaudo are all solid prospects, personally i like owen the most even though he is the farthest away. Any of those three along with Cecchini and swihart and I'm ecstatic. That would be a great deal in my opinion. If anything interchangeable I think i would change Swihart for Brentz or Britton. But I'm not picky.
  22. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 11:58 AM) I suspect this is a player the Red Sox would very much move. Webster doesn't project as an ace starter, but certainly has the skills and makeup to be a solid middle of the rotation pitcher, and pretty soon. Webster would be part of a package I'd assume. I think a package of Webster, Cecchini, Marrero and Britton would be a good package for Peavy and Lindstrom.
  23. Just read a trade deadline chat from CBSSports that Heyman tweeted. It was mentioned that he could see the Red Sox trading Allen Webster. Wonder if Hahn has asked about him as part of a package.
  24. QUOTE (staxx @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 08:37 AM) jacobs is playing pretty well He has played well. Driving in runs and having good at bats.
