  1. Jason's the master of stuff like that. I'm sure he would gladly help you get a picture of Herbert Perry as your avatar, or whatever else you may want to use.
  2. Lately I have been hearing about something known as the "Rule V draft pick," but I don't have any clue about what that is. Could any of you please enlighten me as to what it is? Thanks!
  3. Hey awesomefan! Nice to have you hear to talk some Sox baseball! Check out my article on the mainpage, as it will be posted very soon. It will be about one of the two minor leaguers we acquired in the Koch deal. His name is Neal Cotts, and he pitched right here at ISU. I saw him pitch here in 2001, as he was a junior when I was a freshman. It is so great to actually know a player we get!
  4. Instead, you can check out the Soxnet mainpage soon, as I am going to be writing an article reflecting on what I have seen from Neal Cotts.
  5. I saw this guy pitch here at good old ISU, Home of the Redbirds, so I will give you some insight about him later on tonight when I get back from work.
  6. f*** YEA NIEL COTTS IS AWESOME!!!! I actually had the opportunity to watch him pitch two years ago when he was in college, because he is a....... PRODUCT OF ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!! GO FORMER REDBIRD!!!! MAKE ME PROUD!!!!
  7. Jason, the problem isn't that A-Train is bad. It's that the opposing defenses have been stacking the box against the run, which means he has nowhere to go. It is Shoop's fault in that he never adjusted to it and never resorted to passing when there wasn't as many in the opposition's secondary.
  8. Would you like fries with that?
  9. I'll definitely tune in to the beginning of it, but I have to be at work at 8, which means I have to leave by 7:30. Can't wait to hear it though.
  10. I'm glad someone sees it my way. Don't worry, Mike. I see it your way too.
  11. This was a very good trade indeed. We lose a closer who is a liability, as well as a catcher who is below average, and we gain a closer who is far from old who has POSTSEASON EXPERIENCE! This move solidifies our bullpen, which will be one of the strongest in the league. A strong bullpen makes for a stronger starting rotation, as the starters feel the comfort of good back-ups. Moves such as this are subsequently going to make Wright and Garland better pitchers.
  12. And you never gave me a SERIOUS rating!

Using the playoff system would not LENGTHEN, but instead SHORTEN the season. In 1-AA, we start the playoffs IMMEDIATELY, at the completion of the regular season, and everything is done by the beginning of December. In 1-A, teams sit on their asses for a month, some waiting for the new year to begin. THIS is what LENGHTENS the season.
  14. I believe Antonio Osuna's contract is up after this coming season. Because we are so loaded when it comes to relief pitching, I see no point in resigning him, and I don't think KW will either. I'm not saying we need to deal him NOW, but what I'm thinking is that we should get something for him at least before the trading deadline instead of allowing him to walk to another team for nothing in return. I'm thinking that we could stack up our minor league system with a stud starter for Osuna. Your thoughts on what we could do with Osuna?
  15. I'm not saying they should do this right away, but it would be nice if a few of those relief pitchers who once were starters that we have down in the minors could be re-converted back to their original function. We might be able to solidify our starting pitching for over a decade if this can pann out.

How about doing it the way they do it in our division, D 1-AA. They have a 16-team pool, which works out quite well. Those "big name" schools could learn a few things from us schools of which they flick their haughty noses at.
  17. Just for his being downright sweet and awesome, I think we should all show our appreciation of the master of the rants and the news that's way "out there." Who could ever replace his presence on the SNR Army? And who could ever make JB cry like he? And who's presence on this board is awesomely accepted? 2, 4, 6, 8...Who do we appreciate? General Sideshow, that's who!
  18. Ha Ha Ha Gary, you may get one of those if we do good work on the airwaves. O s***! You're putting him on air? :eek He'll do a lot better than you!!!! But, then again, that isn't very hard considering your on-air capabilities!
  19. Go Michigan State!!!!!
  20. FUUUUUUUUCK! Now we're gonna have to dodge all these Cub fans' harsh words when the win the World Series this coming year!
  21. Yea, but Wright and Garland are going to improve on already successful seasons. I don't think they are feeling as much pressure as you may think they do.
  22. Jason, I don't think we'd have to be giving up prospects of that calibur. We'd be already giving them Foulke, who can be more than decent, so there's the meat of your deal there. But, in reality, I don't think we need an ace when we already have one in Buehrle, so we don't have to worry about giving up prospects of high calibur. We should focus on getting a good #2 starter. Buehrle is going to win us 24-26 games next year (and I am not smoking anything...he is a STUD).
  23. lol, hell yea, and it's funny s***! btw, we should schedule a Soxnet chat where we all get drunk before chatting so we understand everyone's drunk speak!

Since when are you an Alabama fan? Did you live there or something?
