Heyman says White Sox interested in Nelson Cruz
Thing that is interesting about Cruz is his track record is very consistent yet he will have few suitors. How many teams in the AL are trying to compete and don't already have a DH?

I am not talking about in life I am talking about in the clubhouse.

Heyman says White Sox interested in Nelson Cruz
I don't necessarily disagree with anything you said, but given Cruz played only 4 games out of 144 games in the field and Abreu plays first as if he has his shoes tied together I am not sure having them in the same lineup is the best lineup for the team even if the offensive potential is there. Alternatively, I may be a bit more patient with the rebuild than you. Where I don't want to have Abreu's value expire you want the best team possible. It can work either way just my 2 cents.

I don't really care who plays 1st. Abreu does it about as well as any outfielder could in a pinch. I do like the idea of keeping Abreu's relative production and cashing in on Abreu in the trade market. I'd imagine Cruz is looking at something like 1 year 16-18 million or 2 years somewhere around $28-35M. If Hahn can get a crafty 1+1 mutual option and cash in on whatever Abreu is worth I think that's the best of both worlds. Cruz is revered as a leader if memory serves too.

Trade Abreu for a young piece and I am in.

Morosi: White Sox interested in "both Machado and Harper"
Sox are definitely going to spend some this offseason and substantially either this offseason or next. All the stars align for it. 1.) They have no payroll moving forward. 2.) Regardless of the prospects hitting their ceiling, this rebuilding effort will bring in bunch of per arb MLB players. 3.) TV deal up after '19. 4.) Cubs' recent prominence. 5.) Perhaps ownership is preparing to sell the team somewhere in 2020-2022.

Morosi: White Sox interested in "both Machado and Harper"
I hope one of these guys wants "their team." They can go to the Cubs or Yankees or Dodgers and be one of a few stars. If they come here, they will be the star of our team. Obviously you hope that the Kopech/Jimenez/Robert/Moncada/Cease 's of the world turn into stars with them, but Bryce Harper, for instance, could have his Chicago White Sox. He could be 26 years old and the leader both publicly and figuratively. Not likely but possible eI suppose.

Your Offseason Plan
Signing Harper or Machado isn't a 2019 move. It will improve the team in 2019 but they would do it for the whole 8-10 years or whatever. As far as the rotation sucking, I imagine the Sox will sign a vet and have Cease by July. It won't be playoff caliber but it will be a good mix of young studs, young guys you need to see and veteran stability (assuming they get someone like JA Happ or Gio Gonzalez as opposed Miguel Gonzalez type).

11 dead at Pittsburgh synagogue
God you can stretch anything to fit your narrow world views. Interesting. I read local news the day after he was caught and they said he was apart of the Seminole tribe I believe. Talked about his bumper stickers that were "Native Americans for Trump" or something to that effect.

I don't know if you proof read but if you think anyone is following this shmorgishborg of thoughts and buzzwords you're mistaken.

I thought "White nationalists" were a group of people. He's a Native American American. He may have nationalistic views, but he's not white. You can't blatantly lie about someone's ethnic background to suit your preferred narrative.

I wasn't saying that people refer to the culture as catholic just that people who were raised catholic call themselves agnostic/atheist now.

I get your point that being Jewish is being part of a culture here in the state but I am from the south side of Chicagoland and there are so many people who were raised catholic who are now agnostic/atheist. Nothing odd about hearing that in my life.

A.) I thought this type of rhetoric wasn't allowed anymore? B.) The "bomber" isn't even white. Trying to make everything about race creates division.

The poster you were responding to referred to him as fringe which would qualify as an antonym to mainstream.

FIRE Movement (Financially Ind./Retire Early)
We think in step with the high school education and life skills stuff. Unfortunately, as to your homeschooling comment, high school is more of a social learning experience than anything else. At least I haven't found utility in my trigonometry, physics and Chicago history classes yet. And everyone my age is clueless as to how to pay their taxes, how debt works, soft skills, etc.
